By alt sy Go To PostNON CASUALS ONLY: Is Ayton legit?Ayton is a beast, still havent seen him against a real nba big man but he has all the tools and a coach that knows what to do with him. Biggest issue is our inability to get him the ball cause our PGs are trash

By alt sy Go To PostNON CASUALS ONLY: Is Ayton legit? So far so good... there wasn't much doubt in his scoring ability... but he is rebounding well and blocking shots at a high... so far at least

Offensive monster, his lateral movement on defense looks pretty stiff though, compared to Embiid, Davis and Gobert it doesn't seem like he moves all that well when he has to move laterally.
The most believable part of Woj's reporting on the Butler talks is that Thibs wants Bam Adebayo. It makes a lot of sense when you realize he has no idea how to actually construct a roster. He'd never play Bam because he has 5 centers and is going to grind Taj and Towns into dust, but he really wants him.
By Red Blaster Go To Postdidnt see that one but another where robin lopez beat him down the floor to check his man as he was jogging back"They don’t pay players to play defense. There’s only two players, historically, who play defense."

Well, that's one way to get Lonzo to play better. Money is going to be a very motivating factor again
Also, you gotta love his assessment of LeBron: "he not god"

By pilonv1 Go To PostIssue won't be can he play it will be what his ceiling is. Hopefully he doesn't stall early.Complete pre-season over hype, but he looks like he should be a 20ppg guy pretty easily.
The questions is his defense. By all reports, it's the one thing he's actually been practicing with the team. But press day reports are always flowery.
By Colonel Nasty Go To PostChriss starting for Capela tonight. Just set picks and roll.Saw some interesting descriptions of Chriss over on Reddit from rox fans.
Suns fans sent their commiserations.
I'm a Rockets fan. Last night was the first time I witnessed Marquese Chriss play basketball. The man looked like a moose on skates. He's a transformative player in the sense that he makes me question what NBA basketball is or could be.
Somehow he was always in the way, but never actually impeding the other team. Like some sort of new sub atomic particle in super position, he was setting picks on his teammates but opposing players would pass right by him, unless they were to draw a charge.
James Harden makes the pick and roll look easy. Marquese Chriss makes it look like the hardest play in sports. How do you bump into so many guys on your way to the rim? They're all looking at the guy with the beard and the ball. Why are you calling for the ball and jumping for the dunk a foot inside the foul line? To his credit, once he received the ball in the air, Chriss did not try to dunk 8 feet from the rim. He had the good sense to throw it out of bounds, avoiding some sort of crazy preseason ricochet injury.
I'm terrified to every see this guy in a meaningful game. But the man is an innovator. He's reinventing the sport much like Lebron James or Steph Curry before him. He is Picasso, and the pre-season schedule his canvas. Can't wait to see what he does next.
Do you guys have any tips to appreciate the nuances of his game that don't involve whiskey?
By blackace Go To Postsounds like a horrible life tho… how many just get an STD instead of a baby?Well, STD is plan Z on the war room board. The out of court settlement is still 6 figures fam.
This is THOT life. Modus operandi is to get paid somehow.
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostHere's a deal I'd try to make if I'm Minny:So we traded Andrew Wiggins for Kevin Love, Andrew Wiggins, and a 1st?
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y8fzok42
Heat out: 2019 first, Johnson, Richardson
Heat in: Dieng, Butler
Wolves out: Dieng, Butler
Wolves in: JR Smith, Tyler Johnson, Kyle Korver, Josh Richardson
Cavs out: JR Smith, Kyle Korver
Cavs in: Heat 2019 first, Andrew Wiggins
Wolves get one useful long term player (Richardson), a bunch of guys that can help them to a first round exit (or a lottery pick) and provide cap relief in two seasons–including the killer move: moving that albatross of a contract in Wiggins. Wolves could have a couple of max deals they could place alongside Towns in two seasons.
Heat giving out Johnson, a pick, and Tyler Johnson is not awful assuming Butler extends. I'm not sure why he would, but he apparently is indicating he will, so its a fair deal given that.
The only negative for the Cavs in regards to Wiggins is him pushing their tax bill up a bit this season. They aren't getting anyone of note to sign there in the next 4 years anyway. Wiggins/Love/Sexton/Inevitable top 5 picks is not too bad given the reset, and they add another first from Miami to sweeten the deal.
This is NE Ohio. The Sports Gawds would never let such a thing transpire.
