Pretty telling image of Allegri's current basic tactical setup.
Alex Sandro and Cancelo providing width by advancing very high up the flanks (it used to be one or the other with Licht in the XI), Dybala looking for space in between the lines, Ronaldo and Mandzukic alternating, Matuidi and Can + Pjanic to wall the mid. Seems to be working rather well.
I'm quite happy with Can's last couple of performances. Brings next to nothing to our attacking phase, unless you count the breaks he creates with his tackling / repossession game, but he's been very lively in front of the defense. Unlike Khedira, who is very good at advancing, but often "forgets" to backtrack and provide the necessary filtering through the middle.
Ideally I'd want us to play with either Matuidi or Can, not both, but I guess they're indispensable at the moment.

Still can't believe we're letting Marotta go. :(((
I guess we should've suspected something was cooking when it was Agnelli and Paratici headlining the Ronaldo deal, with the latter sitting next to Topher during his presentation. Marotta was visibly moved when he announced it after the game today. Marry no. :((((((

This really is how Arsenal should be playing. The gaps between players is far to wide at the moment and there is very little movement between the lines, or intelligent running into the box from midfield.
By batong Go To PostFour loops all fucking done.

Congrats. So that was 40K?
By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostCongrats. So that was 40K?Yep, some people did 13 loops.

The gaps between players is far to wide at the moment and there is very little movement between the lines, or intelligent running into the box from midfield. When we play with genuine wide players, we look so much better imo. Too narrow if we start Ozil on the right and Ramsey in the CAM position.
Think Emery is moving Ramsey on in January and he's looking for a winger to replace him.
Mourinho praised both McTominay and the home side's Scottish substitute Robert Snodgrass following United's loss: “[McTominay] was the best. He had a fantastic attitude. He’s aggressive, he’s brave and he had something that we thought was important for us, which is quality on the ball.
By Feorax Go To PostArnautovic is such a good player.Thought he was class yesterday. Reminds me of Firmino more than Mane. In general West Ham’s three is really really good. Felipe Anderson is a baller too. Shame about Lanzini because he’d love playing with these guys.
I’m convinced Klopp has Brewster earmarked to be Mané’s understudy once he returns from injury, but if that wasn’t the case I’d have Arnautovic there in a heartbeat.
arsenal lads, looks like emery's making iwobi good again.
always liked him, but i think, especially considering he's still such a young player, he suffered too much from what arsenal were going through in the past two years.

i was just about to post this. there's nothing on it on the guardian's page.
the crazy thing is he admitted that he did it and said that he apologized afterwards.
breaks my heart that cristiano is a rapist, lads. srs.
Presuming you weren't a sacking club because you'd had Ferguson for 27 years was always daft as fuck. Neville and his ilk seem to have completely ignored the fact that Man Utd didn't have to even think about get on the managerial roundabout while Ferguson was in charge, so it was impossible to tell how the board would respond when it actually became a question of perhaps having to sack a manager to progress.
Methinks its more of a lack of a contingency plan, sack Mou and who do you bring in?
Despite the knowledge of his 3rd season implosions, no one presumed it would be this bad.

He has a semblance of a point in that even a really good manager might struggle working in that structure. I still think they’d do better than Mourinho, but it’s not like that’s the only fix needed. City and Liverpool, whilst having better managers, are also just better run football clubs. Throwing Pochettino into United doesn’t change that.

Really? Seems like about what most people expected to me. Certainly isn't surprising me how it's falling apart right now, if anything I am just surprised he hasn't gotten himself into some personal drama as well.
By Bold 2 in One Go To PostDespite the knowledge of his 3rd season implosions, no one presumed it would be this bad.
I sincerely did.
You guys shouldve gone for Pep, and i'm sure he would join you in 13.
I think their squad should be torn down in key areas as well. Lukaku won't suit the way top managers like to play. Pogba (maybe Martial as well) isn't worth the hassle. Jones, Smalling, Lindelof and Sanchez just aren't good enough and never will be. Young, Valencia and Fellaini should go just for the optics.
Easy for me to say though, those players would cost far more to replace than they'd bring in. And making that many changes quickly would create a very long transitional period as their replacements are integrated.
While Mourinho is largely to blame for the centrebacks at the club being a pile of shite, he was spot on in the summer that new ones had to come in. That's definitely where the new manager should start the surgery. With all that said though, you finished second last season. So either these players are actually pretty damn good, or Mourinho did a great job with a mediocre squad last season. And I just ain't prepared to accept either of those options ¬¬

Oh it was always on the cards, heck, after the pre-season teaser trailer of Cunt Mou, I expected him to fucking walk. But I wouldn't say that for sure he would.
The United environment is not like RM or Chelsea, but I spose not backing him in the market was the beginning of the end (even though, he should be doing much better with what he's be given)
By Bold 2 in One Go To PostThe United environment is not like RM or Chelsea
Good point. Those two group of players did after all buy into his idea initially at least, enough to manage to win the title with Mou.

I'm also not giving up on Lukaku. Loved him last season, and he was great during the World Cup as well. I don't see why he can't do it again.
