Brilliant game, good result, awful end product throughout
Sturridge maybe earned a start if we didn't need Firminos energy for our next two matches
NBC commentary team was great

lets not pretend this is calculated lol
That is a shot. 100%. Sturridge never crosses the ball from that position. As soon as he stepped up to it I thought “alright dude you get one wild shot before you gotta be smart” and then he does that.
Chelsea were super fortunate the whole match, but it was always going to happen to Liverpool when they dominate a game and can't get the win. Probably best it happens away to Chelsea rather than home to Huddersfield or someone.
probably a fair result in the end tbh.
and yes, that Sturridge goal is clearly a shot
still i hope morata dies

Oh sure. Klopp is just throwing on the guys who have legs and can score a goal. I don’t think Sturridge knows what he’s going to do until 3 seconds before he shoots, Klopp certainly didn’t know 3 minutes before.
Paco Alcácer 50 minutes this season with 3 goals scored. Brilliant buisness by Zorc.
And just for Killer7.
Sancho with 194 minutes played this season, 1 goal and 5 assists.

By rerixo Go To Postno I meant from the manager's perspective, i don't think the tactical reasoning had anything to do with how it played outYou can't account for a goal like that of course, but everyone knows Sturridge is capable of the moment of magic or cool head that was badly lacking from our attack today. From Chelsea's point of view I'd be very disappointed to give him so much space since he struggles these days to find space when marked.
On the whole, Sturridge depresses me a bit. He is incredibly gifted, but his body has been shattered by the constant injuries and he'll end his career having only had two years playing to his potential. Seems a top lad as well.
Thanks.
So I'm really pleased with the progress I've seen so far, each time I've watched the team you can see small improvements each game. What is clear is that there is alot more purpose about our play and even if the execution doesnt come off, the players know what they're supposed to be doing and its made for a much better atmosphere. It's no coincidence that with Torreria starting we've kept two clean sheets, just a little pitbul and doesnt over commit in stupid situations, knows when to hold when to try and nick it and think he will only get better. That in has made Xhaka look like a different player, much much better from him today. There was one point we were recycling and he hit monreal with a beautiful crossfield pass. It took a while but eventually him Torreria dominated the game.
Rob Holding looked decent today today (because he was better protected), but Mustafi is Mustafi. I want kos and sokratis partnership asap and Leno's distribution was good. I worry how long it takes us score but the results keep coming I'm happy.

Feels like Milner's indian summer may have faded; he was hardly bad or anything, but in both games against Chelsea he's been merely ok, rather than the excellence of prior matches. It was inevitable at his age, and hopefully Keita can play more regularly from now on.

Nooooo, Marotta out. :(
Congrats on your new sporting director, United.
Wow, this is huge.
Really sad to see him go.

It was inevitable at his age, and hopefully Keita can play more regularly from now on.Thought Keita was good when he came on, but he's had other matches where the game is stretched for 20 minutes or so and he's on the ball all the time, playing and taking the ball into space at will, but his influence has badly waned as the game has gone on. If we can get him confident enough to look for the ball all the time even when we're just probing, he'll fit in just fine. He certainly has the passing ability to simpify his game when necessary. Wijnaldum has done half of it this season, he's always been neat and tidy more than anything else (that fucking backpass aside), but now he wants to be on the ball all the time and he's twice the player for it. Maybe a case of just giving him the odd start while the midfield figures out their specific roles. Fabinho I assume will be a slower integration.

What about that Inter lad?

The slow starts are worrying. I think we have yet to go into the lead at half time.
Holding was solid, but his pace against Success nearly cost us. Hopefully Kos can find his feet quickly and slot in next to Sokratis.
Hala Madrid! Important game today, a win will boost our morale after getting fucked in the ass by Sevilla
Wow Diego Costa, Godin and Koke didn't share a laugh with Courtois during handshaking, fucking cunts.
Felt like a game of goalkeepers. Thought both were excellent. We lost a lot after Salah went off - even if he wasn’t finishing his chances - so I hope we don’t keep repeating that.
And so so happy for Sturridge. Really deserves the headlines he’s getting recently. Has a huge part to play this season.
Also, congratulations Penny and Dortmund. Now please run away with it.

Fabinho I assume will be a slower integration.Think a big part of the issue is that playing Milner, Hendo and Wijnaldum in the same midfield is always going to struggle to create unless the players are absolutely on it like Milner and Wijnaldum have been so far this season. In the past it has always been an Ox, a Coutinho or a Lallana to make things happen and when you've had those 3 or Can taking up 3 of the spots Liverpool have struggled
Even if Keita isn't producing world class performances, you need him in there just for the few moments of magic.

We still got a huge workload ahead of us and the age of our team could end up being problematic.
Whatever, the main point I love about this season, that we've got the right spirit. Never giving up and changing the game is just something I haven't seen from Dortmund, once Klopp was gone.
