Developers are all lazy and don't ever contribute anything. It's IT that does all the real work!

I always keep thinking about Azelia Banks talking about how drugged off his face Elon always was, and also how that connects with SBF's actions (and also being off his face), and how that all ties to effective altruism and longtermism.
Anyways they're all stupid cunts and I was always right about that and they were wrong.

What a time to lose your infra team, days before the biggest event on social media by far.

I would really like to read a book about Elon Musk and Tesla. How did he luck into this stardom and get his own cult.

I'm torn. On the one hand, twitter is a great resource for news stories. On the other hand, I really want Elon to lose as much money as possible.
This is what the Elon Musk cult is saying:
"He hasn’t dismantled Twitter. He felt that there was too much staff who were living the good life and inefficiently used. So, he streamlined the company and said the ones who want to say should buckle up but most ran away."

By s y Go To PostSo as someone who's clueless about this sort of stuff, what's so bad about the request ?It would be like asking what your most salient brush stroke is.
Lines of code are pretty much meaningless on their own, even in their 10s or 100s. Well designed code doesn't need to look complex, personally I believe it absolutely shouldn't.
By s y Go To PostSo as someone who's clueless about this sort of stuff, what's so bad about the request ?It means nothing? Without proper context nor the right people around anymore that can accurately judge good vs bad code, it's impossible to identify quality.
As mentioned before, sometimes the best and brightest minds write the least amount of code because they are solving the hardest problems that require a ton of R&D, reconceptualizing and investment that leads to very minimal output over a long period of time only for it to all come together in the end.
To give you a very rudimentary example, if I notice an engineer committing a lot of code because they're squashing a lot of bugs they caused it tells me they didn't spend enough time up front covering their bases. A more senior engineer would spend less time writing a more quality and finished product if the problems were equal.
And given that the SpaceX/Tesla engineers spend time writing in a completely fundamentally different language versus what Twitter sits on, they wouldn't have the requisite domain-level knowledge without actually participating in the code themselves.
It's like asking an architect that designs houses to judge an industrial designer that designs phones. They might be profession adjacent but they are very different problems.

I bet Elon thinks he's created a clever riddle and all the engineers are gonna come and say "my most salient line of code is git push because it means new features are created" or some such and Elon will nod sagely and say "yes, you are hardcore." Instead of people just having no idea what this weirdo wants now and quitting
"I implemented a new feature that blocks the phrase 'Elon Musk is a cunt' and autobans the user."
"You're our new CTO."
"You're our new CTO."
This is what happens when your boss is a spoiled rich boy fuck who doesn't truly understand collaborative processes.
By Lunatic Go To PostBraveAin't no way anyone at that level that has to put their signature on an audit would want to face regulators based on his bosses whims.
