By DiPro Go To PostThey have a subscription model. The $3.49? That's jokes though.
I'm thinking the likes of Elon and others, you think they wouldn't pay $10,000 / month? Elon wouldn't even blink at that cost for the returns he makes being on Twitter. Same for the lkes of Kardashians, Kanye's, and similar big brands, etc.
Subscriptions need to work at scale, and not just a handful at the very top.
10,000,000 people paying $3.49/mo for small features > 1,000 people paying $1k/mo for big features

By Frustrated_me Go To PostThe $3.49? That's jokes though. That sounds like a great way to shoo people off the service and encourage competition.

The SEC is there to protect shareholders and if Elon is making them money then it's hard for the SEC to do anything to him with real teeth.

The major shareholders already publicly said the offer wasn't good enough. Scuttlebutt is that if this falls through, it will open the door for one of the big tech companies to swoop in.
I doubt Facebook will / can because of the outside antitrust eye they have on them over social media acquisitions right now, but maybe Google or Apple or Microsoft makes more sense as they are not in the social sphere like that.

Twitter unveiled its counterattack against Elon Musk on Friday, using a strategy invented to repel corporate raiders in an attempt to block a takeover bid by the world’s richest person.Slaent to buy Twitter
The strategy, known as a poison pill, would flood the market with new shares if Mr. Musk, or any other individual or group working together, bought 15 percent or more of Twitter’s shares. That would immediately reduce Mr. Musk’s stake and make it significantly more difficult to buy up a sizable portion of the company. Mr. Musk currently owns more than 9 percent of the company’s stock.
I don't get it do they want engagement or do they want to change everything once every two months for no reason
