There are better ways of valuing an asset than looking at the last price it sold for.

Difference being Siggurdson being a 28 year old footballer who wasn't going to develop into anything amazing, and on top of that not for a position they really needed it. While Richarlison has shown real glimpses of becoming a fantastic player. Basically paying a lot on top of the standard established premier league footballer fee, for the potential of him developing and also selling him for even more considering the way the market is going.
It's a bet on future performance, a bet on the current market, your ability to compete in that market and the value of other perceived equivalent players, it's a bet on commercialisation opportunities and it's a bet on future market inflation and the player's resaleability.
I just think it’s a stupid bet because he isn’t going to have the impact on Everton that you might get if you spent the money elsewhere. It’s all a gamble, I suppose, and I could be wildly wrong about the player, I just think it’s a hell of a lot of money for someone who scored five goals.

Even if just a loan, I think I have to go with Renato Sanches. Did not even look like a footballer when he played.
That match against Chelsea was one of the worst performances I can remember seeing, up there with Souleymane Bamba one and only match for Palermo. It was almost surreal to see him just fuck everything up.
