By Xpike Go To Postit just hit me that juve geniunely will go into a CL title run with Szczęsny as their #1
at least it'll be very funny
By Flutter Go To PostVery highly rated for Juve at the moment though. Looking forward to see how he handles being the main man.
By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostWill we?I think I'm gonna enjoy this season very much.
I still think Perin will claim the starting shirt very quickly.
I'm feeling very bold at the moment, so let me say this. Perin will never be a starting keeper at Juve. Also, preemptive fuck off to Pelezinho.
My sister gets to have all the fun... she went to Comic Con dressed up as a character from Firefly, and Nathan Fillion comes up to her and wants to take a pic together with his phone.
Then she wins a free Xbone X at a Tomb Raider event.
Then she wins 500 USD at another event.
Meanwhile I’m waiting at the immigration bureau for my renewal to be approved. 😔

M8, I have watched a lot more Wojo then you and it baffles me that he is gonna be starting anything. The very definition of average. He has no presence in the box, doesn’t communicate well, poor from corners and crosses, and only a slighly above average shot stopper. Wojo should not be anywhere near the starting 11.

During his two seasons there, he was by far the best Serie A keeper, tied with Buffon. He wasn't just good for them. He was remarkably good. Which is why Juve (and Buffon) choose to sign him. He was also pretty fucking great for us last season. To the point that some people were asking for Buffon to get benched. Crazy people, no doubt, but it goes to show. Now, he may turn into the good old Ches this season, I don't know. But if you don't rate him for the work he's done these past three seasons, then you have no fucking idea what a good keeper is. I am in the right here. Me. Io. Porcodio.
I don't know who Arsenal's keeper is, but he will have a far worse season than Ches. You don't even have to bookmark this post, it's too easy.
that's because Leno isn't very good at all.
just imo, but I've watched him 13 times since 2011 and he's made unforced errors each time.

By inky Go To PostLeno will make more mistakes leading to goal than Chesny this season. Bookmark this post. One play for Juventus
The other for Arsenal...
If Szczesny manages to have a worse season than Leno he should just retire.
Even him being as shit as he is, he will have a better season than any Arsenal keeper.

He still makes dumb mistakes and has gone from being a truly shit goalkeeper to an average one. So his work these past three years have seen him improve.

I remember there was a time where people actually believed Reina Valdes was a GOAT keeper but then he left Barca lol. Chesny is trash and won't go beyond that.
While I think United will drift somewhere between 4-6 this season, the top 4 placing could be tighter than last season.
City is of course the firm favourites to win it again, but let's see if Fernandinho and Silva can keep up their performances at the age they are.
Liverpool now has a pretty stacked team on paper but they lost Buvac. Tottenham probably will start slow, having to readjust life back in White Hart and possibly having to start without a lot of players missing preseason due to the world cup. Arsenal looking like they'll have the best start out of the others.
Chelsea is still an enigma for me, if they lose Hazard.

Reina left Barca when he was like 19 didn't he?
He was legitimately brilliant between 2008 and 2010 imo, no idea why he fell off a cliff after. Rafa's departure was a mess, but Reina never came close to retaining that form as far as I know
My main worry with Alisson is that he does a Bravo. For that price he surely has the ability to be a great keeper for us, but especially with keepers you can never be sure how they'll respond to a big setback
Unfortunately for Bravo they started happening very early with City, and he never looked capable of turning it around

Valdes is a weird one
Never thought he was that good, but his ability with his feet and against the press made him suitable for Barca
In his last season there though he was exceptional in every respect from what I saw. He dropped a bollock going to Man Utd on the assumption that De Gea was going to leave I think, then took to the role of Victor Bogarde with aplomb when he still had time to move elsewhere and start games

Watched the highlights of the game, everyone seems to be raving about Chong.
Martial and Shaw seemed up for it, but it was the first pre-season so can't read too much into it

another manchester united academy phenom.
Nothing in terms of quality, I've seen him play 2 games for Roma and 5 games for Brazil where he had little to do
Just the way players respond to the pressure that arises after mistakes, I wouldn't have thought bravo would melt down the way he did, but the potential is always there in my mind until they disprove it. Probably pessimism caused by Reina's decline, then Mignolet and Karius. Bogdan doesn't help either :P
Hopefully he's a Van Dijk and just plays his game regardless of the price tag, and doesn't dwell on the errors when they happen.
Obviously vvd has yet to make an inexcusable clanger with us so far, but he doesn't give me the impression at all that he gets phased when things go wrong.
Who is likely to be our captain in games where neither Henderson or Milner plays btw?

Pulisic and Donnasumma would surely cost way more than that
Trent would perhaps be on there largely because of the team he plays for and the league we play in. Even if he's not on the list for quality, we wouldn't entertain offers below silly money.
edit: isn't Malcom supposedly on the verge of leaving for like £30m?

I hope Roma gazump Everton for Malcom. Would be good laughs. Pulisic’s fee looks accurate to me. Think Donnaruma is actually a bit less than what’s written there.
Rashford for all intents and purposes doesn’t have a fee. He’ll move to Everton or Leicester in two seasons for 35m when he stops getting game time at Utd. He isn’t good enough for Barca or Bayern to come calling, and if he went to Juve it’d be on a free.

By Flutter Go To PostJesus Christ Odd that's one hot take. He's just salty his sister got to take a pic with Nathan Fillion.
Was gonna mention Rashford
Feel like he's being propped up by the way he burst onto the scene 2 years ago a fair amount. While time is unquestionably on his side, its tough to see him nailing down a position and/or a starting role while he's as inconsistent as he is, and Man Utd are under as much pressure to win trophies as they are.
I don't watch him as much as the Man Utd fans obviously, so what is it about him that means he doesn't seem to be trusted to play up front? He often looks direct to a fault when I see him on the left, like he always wants to take the fastest route towards goal whether its the best option or not.
Mourinho is not in the business of persevering with players until they're reliable when they're capable of being truly poor or anonymous, and nor should he be. It's why the Sanchez situation last season was so interesting, without the reputation and wages he arrived with there's no way he'd have still been in the first 11 in May. He was putting in performances worse than anything I've ever seen from Martial.

I doubt Mou will drop Rashford. Him and Lingard are people who he has raved about since day one. Still he needs a lot of development. The coaches and players have said that Rashford is a beast during practice and he needs to start giving those same performances during real matches.
I wonder if we’ll go back for Fekir in January? Seems like it will be a mix of Lallana, Keita, Sturridge and maybe Gini to play furthest forward in the midfield for now.
He’ll drop Rashford eventually when he replaces him with a Perisic or the like. He’ll be a bench player for a season or two and the player will have to decide whether wearing the United shirt is worth not playing full matches often.

We’ll be thin in midfield if we don’t add 1 more IMO. We’re missing one
We're stacked in the back 2 positions
Fabinho, Henderson and afaik Keita can play DM if he has to
Keita,Wijnaldum, Milner and maybe Henderson can play CM
We're be pretty reliant on Lallana being fit and firing while Ox is out though for the third position. If Keitas all-round game is as good as it sounded last summer, maybe he's capable of playing there
Sturridge being trained to play there has the whiff of necessity about it. Maybe Woodburn will get his chance there, not heard much about him going on loan.
