Figure Wooders wants to keep wages from escalating and minimise loss by selling players when you want to bring some in to show that we again made a profit for last season.
Then again I think a lot of United fans won't be as ecstatic even if we manage.to get Bale or Sandro in. City was so far ahead on points last season that it just took the wind out of our sails.
To be honest though, I'd be surprised if they manage to keep that form up. Think it will be a tighter race this season.

Also, the Zidane joining Juve's management in October news has been debunked. Least as far as the usual suspects (Di Marzio) know.

I would have bet City would be in the top 3 of that list.
Really looking forward to the new season. Some of our players, Pogba and Lukaku especially, had very successful tournaments and will hopefully hit the ground running. Lingard had a decent showing as did Young.
Biggest concern is that we don't see the same level of application from Pogba. This World Cup showed he has the all round game to match the very best. There's also the problem with Mourinho's muddled coaching and tactics that we need to get around. If Fred can adapt quickly with Matic and Pogba we might at least see a greater threat from midfield. Lingard can play in a 3 to decent effect also.

Small glimmer of hope in McKenna, hopefully with him at the helm they'll actually not suck while at the final third.
Overall play will probably still be Mou's soaking the pressure which will be dull as usual.

I have no enthusiasm for the season
The opening game is also clashing with Hamilton because for some fucking reason it's on a Friday night.

By Arnie Go To PostPogba was fucking incredible this World Cup.He was excellent. The sort of player we've seen in glimpses at United. Dominating Dembele in the FA Cup SF, the City and Arsenal games etc. When he turns it on he's sensational. He just doesn't always do it. Part of that is on him of course. But another part is our stagnation under Mourinho. We never kicked on from his first season. A lot of players suffered.
Whew, just finished up the main story of the Witcher 3 and happy with the ending I got, though I think it’s probably one most people got.
Geralt tells Emhyr that Ciri is dead, Ciri becomes a Witcher, Geralt retires with Yen, Emhyr wins the war and Temeria gains sovereignty.
You guys were right that the game never lets up. Of the three branches, before the story converges, I liked Novigrad the least, and Velen the best. My complaint with the game is that combat is merely functional and nothing more than that, and that dungeon design isn’t anything to write home about. I was slaughtering pretty much everything on Hard mode due to all the paths the game to becoming stronger (potions, oils, mutagens, crafted Witcher gear). But that’s not really what kept me going.
Plot kicks ass, characters kick ass, world kicks ass, music kicks ass, one of the best games I’ve played since the PS4’s release without question.

The base game makes W3 my favourite of the generation.
The DLC makes it my favourite ever game. Get on that Hearts of Stone, Odd.

La Stampa (reliable?) reporting that a fee has been agreed for Alisson.
€65mil + €10mil add-ons.
Edit:
Looks like it’s happening.

Crazy that it's double the fee of the most expensive keeper, which has been the record for like 16 years
Liverpool have a good chance this year, they'll compete for the title. Their signings over the last two years have been great - clear and focussed on addressing needs. Makes me sad that we have limitless funds but still can't figure out how to put together a half coherent transfer strategy.
Only problem is that I reckon City will be even better than they were last year.

That’s a shit load of money for a keeper, but like Viva’s said it’s addressing needs and you don’t get much more straightforward than that.
By Hitch Go To PostCrazy that it's double the fee of the most expensive keeper, which has been the record for like 16 yearsEdison cost like 40 so not the double
The Buffon fee has always amazed me. Years before Ronaldo to Real Madrid, a goalkeeper moves for 50 million Euro. Crazy!
Stories are that Chelsea are not letting Courtois go until they have secured a replacement. Next on the list is Gianluigi Donnarumma who according to sources has a cool name and is 19 years old. Roma are also interested.
Third kit. Made from sea trash, which is somehow appropriate. I think I like it the most out of the three.

It’s all relative as well. Van Dijk was a big fee but going back I’d now pay double. And nobody talks about the fee if the signing works. I’d we sort our goalkeeper for five years I’d pay £200m.
Funny we pay crazy amounts for defenders and a keeper, yet got away with murder when you consider the amounts paid for Mané, Firmino and Salah.
