By Cleff Go To PostVery disappointed in Juve's PR and marketing here. You've signed the best footballer on the planet. Where's the fucking video lads?Did they sign Messi as well? Juve going in lads.
Flabber already got the proletariat in the south downing tools.
An Italian trade union has announced that Fiat workers at its Melfi plant down south will go on strike over Cristiano Ronaldo’s €105m transfer to Juventus.
It is thought some of that fee will be paid through sponsorships by Juve’s parent company Exor, which owns the likes of FIAT and Ferrari, prompting a furious backlash from the Unione Sindacale di Base.
“It’s unacceptable that while FCA and CNHI workers continue to make huge economic sacrifices, the company then spends hundreds of millions of euros on the purchase of a player,” it said in a statement.
“We’re told that times are tough, that we need to resort to social safety nets, waiting for the launch of new models, which never arrive.
“And while the workers and their families tighten their belts more and more, the company decides to invest a lot of money on a single human resource!
“Is this fair? It is normal for one person to earn millions, while thousands of families can’t even get to the middle of the month?
“We’re all employees of the same owner, but this difference in treatment cannot and must not be accepted.
“The Fiat workers have made the company’s fortune for at least three generations, but in return they have only ever received a life of misery.
“The company should invest in car models that guarantee the futures of thousands of people, rather than enriching only one.
“That should be the objective, a company that puts the interests of their employees first. If it isn’t, it’s because they prefer the world of football, entertainment and everything else.
“For the reasons described above, the Unione Sindacale di Base has declared a strike at FCA Melfi between 10pm on Sunday July 15 and 6pm on Tuesday July 17.”
Closing the transfer window early in England remains one of the most moronically self-defeating acts since Brexit.

Nah we don't really have that long to sign him. We face Sturm Graz for CL qualification on july 25th. And of course we'd like to have our squad complete by then. Hopefully if it happens it will happen soon.
Have to say I am very excited for Man City's surrogate "journalists" to come out in a wee minnute and explain that actually they only want to sign players that really want to play for them.
Becoming a very easy team to gazump.

Like Horse was saying City have now missed out on Alexis, Fred and Jorginho. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and pay a bit extra.
They don't want to spend over the odds which is fine, but on the other hand they have no problem spending millions on players like Laporte and Bernardo Silva who are just rotation options. There's a disconnect in that transfer policy.

By Arnie Go To PostThat Jorginho Rumbo is mad.
How the hell have they convinced him to go there, a club in mild turmoil, as opposed to Pep’s City.
I know London, money and Sarri will play its part, but still.
Those are pretty huge parts though. Not to mention the turmoil probably being far overblown, it isn't the first or last time we hear about Roman not losing interest in Chelsea and stopping funding, with the result of chaos.

They do that though, when they really want a player. Turned out to be their luck in case of Alexis, and time will tell if Jorinho and Fred will be worth it.

Nah they had the song Spectre ready for it but the producers rejected it ultimately causing Radiohead to release the song for free on Soundcloud.
Man of War is a demo from the OK Computer era.

Yes they are going to make some transfers that turns out not so great as well? They should just count themselves lucky they didn't buy both Bernardo and Alexis innit.
Bernardo Silva 35 appearances in the league and played +2000 minutes for them over all, not too terrible in a squad doing as well as city were…

They're buying good players but they way they go about signing them is so arbitrary. But regardless, they're building from a position of strength which no other side in the league can boast. They can afford a dud or two.
Silva seemed to have trouble adjusting to Guardiola's tactics at first, but was pretty good near the end of the season for me.
Not to mention unseating Sterling who had a fantastic first half of the season would have been hard.

If you want to believe those journalists I guess. Have a hard time believing it is anything as described, and that they didn't go in and ask Pep if he thought it was worth keep out bidding or if he saw other options.
