Also good luck getting Martial when we won't even do a swap with Toby for him
By etc Go To PostI'm getting modern Rooney vibes from Kane in an England shirt unfortunatelyThe lads can start by injecting some pace & urgency into their game, innit.
Almost anonymous performances punctuated by a decent goal return. He's so good for Spurs that we should do what it takes to get him as involved for us as he is for them, he has far more to his game than the goals alone.
I genuinely like what Southgate is doing with the team, just wished he hadn’t picked Young/Jones.... :lol

If we don't get Toby we should go for that Sevilla lad I guess.
I imagine Mou wants someone more experienced tho.

Guardian have put up a good world cup preview. All teams broken down and some basic tactics analysis.
Morocco only bringing 5 defenders is dodge enough

Pretty much all of the non-Man Utd players in the team play in high-intensity, pressing club teams. Put them in an England shirt though and everything seems slower, even off the ball.
By etc Go To PostThere's something about England that just saps energy innitAlways playing like it’s the first time they’ve ever met. Such a shame.

Going by clubs though, a decent high intensity/pressing game is hard to build and needs a team that fully trusts in it and each other. Hard to get that in an international set up thats stop/start throughout the year and different call ups every time.
By n8 dogg Go To PostWe should defo be playing Vardy over KaneOr take Vardy's stash of red bull and force Kane to drink it before each match.
By n8 dogg Go To PostWe should defo be playing Vardy over KaneYep.
Chile 2014 are the only international team I can think of where pressing was an obvious keystone of their game, still feel that England are a fair bit behind where we should be in that regard though. Its unrealistic to expect full gegen, but we're more passive than I'd like.
By HasphatsAnts Go To PostIs someone making a World Cup thread?Martins is acting like he is painting the fucking Sistine chapel.
By etc Go To PostOi Pele, did Chapecoense end up getting fined by the CBF for not fulfilling their fixtures after the plane crash? Also how are they doing now generally? They only had one more game to play in the league that was cancelled. And of course the final of the Sulamericana which they won.
They rebuilt their team for the next season (last year/season) and did quite well in the Libertadores and in the league and won their state championship. Managed to qualify for this years libertadores tru the league again but was eliminated on the pre libertadores first knockout round.
This year they didnt win their state championship, but are currently in the quarter-finals of the Brazilian Cup, on the last 32 in the Sulamericana and currently in the bottom half of the league.
They did quite well in suma.

Do other clubs not have garbage Sport Blog Nation sites like Chelsea? Or it just moronic American's and world wide Fady's who keep We Don't Have No History so prominent online and on Twitter?
These fan run shits are the bane of the internet. The idea that a massive corporation like Vox is profiting off of misleading and un-educating their readers is awful.

kimo, you need to spam it everywhere and try to get more followers.
By bud - batong's buddy Go To Postto the lads whose countries didn't qualify for the world cup, who are you supporting?
i'm going for either argentina (messi) or japan (playstation).
If I was a decent footballer I'd be able to qualify for the USA (where I sadly live), Australia, or Scotland so I normally support those teams, and England I guess since I watch a lot of Brexit footy
Since two of those didn't quality I'm going hopping mad for my socceroos
My only hopes for the WC is to put on a good performance, I'd say Brazil is too strong so a tie would be a massive achievement, and try to advance over the Swiss and Serbia to get knocked out by Germany.

Gonna be a good one!
My country qualified but fuck it if I'm rooting for them. I only hope for a mostly embarrassment free exit (no era penal).
Other than that, I hope I can laugh at all the other failures. Would enjoy a Messi or maybe a Spanish win (for my grandpa).

Hard to say. Germany definitely have experience on their side. France and Spain are also both incredibly strong.
If Ramos has his elbows prepped and ready, should be no problem keeping the opposition’s players at bay.

France are definitely set for a disappointing early exit because Deschamps has no idea what he's doing.
Not worried about the World Cup. Just want an entertaining tournament with as few injuries as possible.
Spain, Germany and Brazil seem to have the most complete squads.
France and Belgium most intriguing players.
I think for NFL and college football the SB.com sites can be really useful and provide real insight into what they're covering. Whether it's OTAs for NFL or campus reporting - that stuff makes perfect sense for their business model.
It's the reposting of second and third hand info and personal opinions where they fill in the blanks to make sense of stuff happening an ocean away that makes their football sites nothing more than Twitter clickbait. And people use this shit to then form their own opinions. It's ridiculous.
