The Cavs missed an opportunity for their second unit to develop an identity. There's no reason a unit of Osman, Green, Nance, Clarkson, and Hood can't put up buckets playing other teams' second string, there was never a cohesive plan for any of those guys other than "plug in to hit jumpers when JR or Korver are tired".
Exactly.
Lue has no fucking idea how to maximize or even utilize talent outside of LeBron. It's fucking maddening. Osman could be a pretty good player if he ever got time. Even a line up of Hill/Clarkson/Osman/Green/Nance should give you quality minutes but it all goes to shit as soon as LeBron sits.

By Jeff-DSA Go To PostGuess Lebron isn't going to Portland. Cross that one off the list. Jazz still in the running.

By Jeff-DSA Go To PostThat's not fly fishing and it is anime. Double strike.
KD is a killer. What a game.
Refs were pure trash though. Let Cav's mug GSW so often.
Insane to think about the great year from LBJ that is going to net him no ring.

Oh, the Cavs haven't really been in the contest the whole series.
LBJ has.
And his performances this series have been mighty.

By unknown Go To Postlove has done well.It was funny, i forget who exactly, maybe it was Kevin O'Connor, he said it was interesting how CLE started early getting love involved, and he was hitting shots doing well.
And then they just went away from him more and more as the game went on. Potentially riding the hot hand of Hood. But that effectively iced out Love.
Be interesting to re-watch the game.
That said, Loves shooting numbers are trash this series. .300 from 3?
By Omzz Go To PostI'll say it, i thought Klay looked stiff all game. Didn't seem to move / jump like normal. Wonder if that high ankle sprain is hurting him?
2 all stars getting a night off in the nba finals and still getting a ring
I mean, it probably helps CLE were allowed to get away with murder off the ball. But still.

Good for them. Bob Meyers deserves credit.

But last night CLE got away with murder off the ball.
Always bound to happen though.

By reilo Go To PostThis is good: https://www.si.com/nba/2018/06/08/kevin-durant-warriors-nba-finals-free-agency-lakers-thunderThat’s all pretty well reasoned, but I’m not sure the better answer isn’t for another superteam or two to emerge. Boston and Houston are knocking on the door of that. You can say it further erodes parity - and it does - but with the way the sport works only 2-3 teams ever have a real shot in a given season anyway, so I’m not sure that changes much.
I am sympathetic to the notion that with so much talent on a given team it stops any one guy from pushing themselves to the furthest though.
The more people try to pretend Kevin Durant’s Warriors are a real basketball team, the more insulting they become.
lol

Nobody will respect 2/3 titles outside the bay. It is what it is. Simple.
By Random Ass Username Go To PostY'all acting like some of the winning teams of the past weren't squads of excellent players.Nothing like this warriors team has been seen in sports.

no other team sport has gawds like basketball outside of soccer maybe. in football you can have a HoF QB - but you can't have two HoF QB's at the same time
the impact of a great player in basketball is stupid. two? crazy. three? you should ring up ezpz. 4? why do you ever lose. a bench and coaching good enough to win 30-40 games too?
and everyone just taking paycuts simultaneously? this shit only happens for the olympics and world cups lol

Actually, the uh, 49ers kind of did. But we take your point. They're not playing at the same time.
Speaking of the 49ers, I can't think of one major free agent acquisition in their run of greatness other than Deion Sanders for that one year, and as you said, not as big of an impact in football as it is in basketball. The Niners will built largely through drafting or trades, and to that end, the natural born Warriors are the same way and deserve a bit more prestige than that complete fraud KD.

the packers did, and it took one getting hurt in order to unleash the second one.
