Attending first NBA game (Rockets @ Thunder). Anything we need to know?
My friend and I are salty about not being able to head to Omaha for the NCAA games on Sunday, so we bought tickets for Rockets @ Thunder on April 5th. I know we got a bunch more OKC fans on this board so what is there to do in OKC? We're leaving here at 6am to get there around 11 and go straight to the game at noon. Probably spend some time after the game chilling before heading back around 7 or 8pm. If there's not much we can check out we'd just eat and head back. I mean we are just going for the game haha.
What about parking? Any chance of moving to seats closer to the court? Hopefully Durant is back by then (not likely) or Westbrook continues his dominance that day.

By psychintellectOh. I remember a few more thunder avatars I thought. Maybe that was just on GAF and only Gondo and I moved over here.By balddemonMy friend and I are salty about not being able to head to Omaha for the NCAA games on Sunday, so we bought tickets for Rockets @ Thunder on April 5th. Jazz fan first tho. I just live only like 5 hours from OKC so why I haven't gone to a game before, idk. It's about time.
aren't you an OKC fan?
Coming on Sunday limits some of your options (lots of things are closed) but I can give you some guidance.
I'd definitely recommend grabbing brunch before the game. Kacao (Guatemalan cafe) comes highly recommended (although I haven't made it yet myself): http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/46/1571618/restaurant/Uptown/Cafe-Kacao-Oklahoma-City
There's another popular place called Waffle Champion. Very good, but a bit pricey and hectic on Sunday mornings: http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/46/1627388/restaurant/Midtown/Waffle-Champion-Oklahoma-City
There are also a bunch of great Vietnamese places (iirc, we have the highest concentration of Vietnamese people outside Vietnam). My favorite is Pho Cuong: http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/46/501168/restaurant/Uptown/Pho-Cuong-Oklahoma-City
The other area to check out is called the Plaza District. Lots of neat restaurants, bars, shops and whatnot there. Hipster central.
The newest bar there is called Oak & Ore. Excellent beer selection and they appear to be open on Sundays. Make sure to try some Prairie Artisan Ales and Black Mesa ESB. Their food is extremely meh though. For that, I'd recommend Empire Slice House, which is right next door: http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/46/1773306/restaurant/Inner-City-Northside/Empire-Slice-House-Oklahoma-City
Let me know if you have any more questions.
P.S. Just saw your parking question. Shouldn't be much of a problem. Plenty of parking within walking distance of the arena for $10 or so. Also, avoid Bricktown. Cheesy touristy bullshit.

By Adam BladeNot even close, Dongo. Vietnamese people are mostly located in Cali, breh.Heard that somewhere, shouldn't have repeated it without checking.
Still, it's a big community that you wouldn't expect to find in this part of the country.
Cali has the largest amount of Asian people in North America.
OP, just remember to that Dwight is a soft bitch and Harden is cry baby. You'll be alright after that.

So we're about an hour out from the arena. Are there any places we can go shopping like Lids or something nearby?

For Thunder gear or sports gear specifically?
Penn Square Mall isn't too far, but it doesn't open til noon on Sundays. Some stores might be closed for Easter too. Pretty sure it has a Lids.
DNA Galleries is in the Plaza District (also not far) and apparently opens at 11. They have some cool stuff. I'd call ahead to be sure they're open though.
If those don't work there's always the arena store, even if it's overpriced.
