By Bold 2 in One Go To Postwe could save a lot of money by sacking the other 10 players and just have De Gea save shots for 90 mins - according to some here United would still come second. Not a bad idea, actually.

I doubt Zidane would leave before getting five in a row.

By batong Go To PostViva going hamI'm not even trying to - I said after the Seville games he is finished and since then I haven't seen much to change my mind. Even though we have had some good results since then you can see it isn't sustainable.
There is no base on which those performances were built that can be replicated.
I'll give him that he knows how to get a disciplined and hard working performance out of the team but that isn't enough to win or even compete for a title.

Poch?
Really Viva, if you read my posts we basically with each other.
I just disagree with the posts saying that there's nothing good that has came out as Mou as a coach. There is. Just that the bad outweighs the good, especially when it comes to entertaining matches.
and yeah, Mou could still win the title, if he doesnt self destruct. It's going to take a lot to do so, and there's just a tiny chance (especially with City not really having a problem with giving Pep what he wants) but there is nonetheless.

Poch?
Simeone is what United need. He's basically Mourinho from 10 years ago.
Atlético is his fortress, though. Perfect match. I can't imagine him wanting to trade that away.

It does feel like Poch and Klopp are building a team, ethos and at least a strong first eleven. Don't see that at United. We have improved vs top 6 but can't say our play is consistent and constantly changing eleven doesn't help either apart from certain favourites. Too reliant on moments of magic and individuals.
2 years in and we still have games like WBA, Sevilla and Brighton.
The worst thing in all this is how nervous we can look in defence. Not a Mou thing at all.

There's no evidence based on this season or last season's performances that suggest United will win the title. We play crap football under a manager that's either unwilling or incapable of making a positive shift in style. We're miles behind City.
The matches don't need to be entertaining. If we were solid in defence and midfield that would be a start. But we're not. We concede too many soft chances. We've been bailed out by a world class goalkeeper too often.

By batong Go To PostYou say that like Tottenham and Liverpool dont.Just what I see. Pool are capable of being lolerpool but you're in a CL final and put Pep on his ass 3 times in one season. Also, have Keita coming in this summer and being linked to further quality.
Tottenham do show consistency.

This is precisely why I am not too worried about our new manager not getting top four. I have said most of the season that City are miles ahead, but United, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Spurs are nothing special. If it wasn’t for this historically bad away record then we would be in the mix right now.
Right now there is no anti-City for the title next year, and everyone needs major work if they want to lay claim to it.

United, Tottenham and Liverpool , Chelsea are no Arsenal either.

A good manager would have this team in the top four right now.

None of those teams are anything special, we don’t have to make a giant leap to catch up.

Least you’ve got a YouTube channel now, innit.
I’m not convinced we’ll steamroll the league again next season. Lads will be tired after the World Cup and we’ll go into every game expecting to win, and that sometimes ends poorly for us.
Plus, it’s so fucking hard to win two in a row. Why though?
I think Milan have a decent shot at winning Carabao Coppa Italia on Wednesday. I've never seen our lads so knackered this late into the season.
By Kermit Go To PostLeast you’ve got a YouTube channel now, innit.motivation. Some players lose it after winning the title. Kompany credits that to why they failed to do so in the past too.

Maybe it will be different under Pep. He certainly knows how to lit a fire under his players, but some are just soft.
relieved the season has ended; a feeling which provides ample comment on the meandering awfulness of our germanic-narcissistic footballing peregrination for the past 8 months.
we've been truly rotten, with players giving up in a way i've not witnessed since the peter taylor years.
however come august my pale-ale infused optimism will arrive once more.
my one wish is that dominic poleon and his catastrophic goalscoring erecticle dysfunction syndrome be banished to a small mining town in wyoming. failing that - Oldham Athletic.
