I really doubt anybody was/still is doubting the tactical nous of successful managers from the 60s/70s/yesteryear when some won consecutive European Cups and streaks of league titles. Zidane already had sewn his eternality in the game before stepping into the dugout, but even if he bows out completely now his managerial achievement will always be lauded. Nobody will care how good this Madrid team was.
Also, fuck Madrid.
Also, fuck Madrid.

And we would still have "Zidane was carried by his players" discussions in 2050.
Also, fuck Madrid.

I doubted that the Chelsea stadium would actually get built. Immense expense + all the other difficulties.
Isn't this exactly what people have always said about Chelsea/City/PSG? That eventually the money man would walk away and things would swiftly start falling apart? Though in this case I would be surprised if it all doesn't end up as a nothing distraction

Think Chelsea is already established at a level that they can survive fairly well without their sugar daddy.
The other two need more time. If their owners dropped out now, they would suffer.

By Pele.gif Go To PostThink Chelsea is already established at a level that they can survive fairly well without their sugar daddy.I would agree with this, but for the fact that Chelsea finished outside of the CL this year. They're in a tricky position and it's not hard to imagine their problems compounding, as a poor squad leads to no CL next year, leading to less money, leading to another poor squad, etc. Etc.

I can already see Argentina's structure turning to 1-1-3-3-2 as Otamendi keeps charging out 10 yards to try a risky tackle

Would be interesting to see how people would react, if it's a better and more famous club.

So first there was a release clause. Then only a gentlemen’s agreement. Real Madrid’s journalists use the same script whenever they want something from us.

It's all of Spain's journalists salivating to sells some clicks right now.
Sports journalism with some exceptions is an utter embarrassment.
By rossonero Go To PostI thought Dembele was important for Tottenham? Now they are willing to sell him?Apparently he wants to leave because he has been playing with pain and it's getting harder for him to play Tottenham's brand of football.
It isn't out of contempt or anything.
By Vivalapizza Go To PostAnd the ending is always the same too…so I doubt they're worried.
If he does go, it’s fine. He’s taken us to a very good level but another top manager can keep it going. If we can get Bale as part of the deal and bring someone like Allegri, it would be quite exciting.
I just think that Poch and Levy were very purposeful in signing that new contract before the CL final, it would be an insult to walk away a week later. If he goes then for me he will have gone about it in a very flippant manner and his legacy will be tarnished somewhat. He didn’t need to sign that contract.
By rossonero Go To PostI thought Dembele was important for Tottenham? Now they are willing to sell him?
Dembele has been here for 6 years and it starting to degrade physically, with a year left on his contract we will sell for the right price. I think it’s a terrible mistake unless we are bringing in an elite player.

"If we really sell Pjanic, no matter who we buy for the midfield next, will be a perfect example of why we don't win the Champions League: We always take sideway steps, never forward. One great player comes, but one leaves. One hole is filled, another one is made."
These people just don't get it. This is why we have Trump and Brexit.
