By Smokey Go To PostIt really is appalling in comparison. I'm not big into comics, but aren't the DC heroes more popular than Marvel? Or used to be at least.DC heroes used to be more popular than the MCU people. Marvels big names were the properties other studios owned. Spiderman, X-MEN, etc. If 15 years ago someone told you Thor would outperform a Justice League movie you would have been involuntarily in an insane asylum.
I mean they have Batman and Superman ffs
By Smokey Go To PostIt's so wild to me that IRON MAN kicked this off too
Still one of the only great movies in the whole series
Just back from seeing it.
I really enjoyed, but it did feel like a Game of Thrones episode.
Thanos is immense. I loved his development in the movie. Also, so glad I got to read a lot of the comics before seeing this.
Had all the comedy you would expect from Marvel, which also means in inappropriate moments.
Pretty dark film.
A lot to process.

Half the audience after sitting through what might be the longest credits in history.

Fucking yes,
Twelve years ago, RDJ was doing time as a result of being a junkie.

I would say the three main characters of the film were Iron Man, Thor, Thanos with Gamora in fourth place.
Think I’ve heard BP isn’t in it much. Think trailers are just capitalising on BP’s success which they obviously didn’t plan for.
Will probs see it next week. Thought Civil War was hot trash so not expecting much out of this one. Think the Phase 3 films have been mostly solid though (I think I need to rewatch gotg2 because i didn’t like it very much initially but I feel more ambivalent in retrospect)

By Diego! Go To PostSo do you need to have seen Black Panther? Seems like you do based on the trailers.
Not really.
The reason why they are in Wakanda wasn’t really as a result of the Black Panther film. Only really makes things easier for knowing who some of the supporting characters are.
As long as you know who Black Panther is from Civil War ypu are golden.
Seeing it on Monday, but this is why i can't fuks with going to the theater on a regular basis
$60 night by the time it's all said and done with drinks etc

Is it just me or was the CG significantly better than in the pleb-tier Marvel films? What was the budget on this thing?

That’s biggest marvel shifted all the real talent to IW a year ago and hired 20+ small nobody companies to handle their other movies.
By n8 dogg Go To PostMust be why BP CGI sucked eggsIt was so awful. It didn't help that Coogler hasn't learned how to direct for action yet.
By Zabojnik Go To PostIs it just me or was the CG significantly better than in the pleb-tier Marvel films? What was the budget on this thing? The CG was pretty fantastic, only had one single thing that I noticed looked off. Been kind of eh on most MCU films lately, but I had a blast watching IW. Just a proper spectacle. In particular I was satisfied with Thanos as a villain and with how balanced it felt. It jumps around a lot naturally, but I thought that they gave each individual scene and segment time to breathe.
By Bold 2 in One Go To PostFucking hell, ladsI know right. Honestly, I was impressed. Making all of the countless components work together as well as they did is a huge achievement, even if it's not the greatest movie of all time or anything.

But even that is not that great. Pretty basic stuff.

I'm so glad we have Megaplex theaters here
I thought the moments of levity were very well delivered - helped by so many characters being able to play so well off each other.

I think they did really well with the group pairings.

Yet thinking about upgrading to 70" oled. You disgust me smokey 😂
Saw it early this morning. Pretty sure I loved it but still overwhelmed by the experience. Only thing I'm not sure about is Thanos's motivations for doing what he does. His character is fucking great though. Thinking about going to see it again tomorrow.

Thankfully the film moves so fast it doesn't allow you the opportunity to fully process it to until after it's over.
