Rockets in 3. They win by such a large margin in the first three that the NBA feels bad and cancels the fourth.

Clips were the third seed twice in the CP3 era and won both first rounds.

By DY_nasty Go To Postif philly wins two games i'll be shockedIM SAYING. These casuals are killing me.
Simmons is about to get traumatized.
I'm not sure I get the Heat over 76ers argument other than Simmons' shooting.
The Heat were a really mediocre team in the regular season and it's not like they have any playoff experience.
I don't go and look at:
Goran Dragic
Maybe injured Hassan Whiteside
Josh Richardson
Tyler Johnson
Josh Johnson
Justice Winslow
And think "these guys are big time playoff performers"

By DY_nasty Go To Postif philly wins two games i'll be shockedA lot of people, in the media, on every podcast everywhere, got caught up in that win streak thinking that’s what they really are, but that whole run was against the worst teams in the league.
If Embiid were playing then they really are good, but he’s listed as unlikely for game 1 and Miami’s goon-ass squad are not the team you run a guy with a broken face back early against. Olynyk gets paid to go Mortal Kombat.
Then they have James Johnson to put on Simmons, a (mostly) legit C, wing defenders for days to deal with the 3 point shots, and can keep throwing energy out all game with that bench.
I do think Philly can win two games, but they drew a way tougher matchup than people think. It’s really going to come down to how much the refs let Miami get away with.

By IWMTB19 Go To PostPhilly has the 5th best SRS in the NBA.Philly is also led by rookies who can’t shoot, matched up against a paint-clogging octopus goon team. They’re going to have a hard time. Home court is the biggest thing they have in their favour, because that’s one less game the refs will let Miami get away with murder.

You still got to put these games away, 15 game streaks are rare. Even the 73-9 GS dropped a few games to garbage teams. And they beat the Cavs in a playoff like game without Embiid. They are good and can easily reach the ECF if Embiid comes back soon.

That will have to change for the Heat to win.

this is the last year to tank before the rules change. nobody got time to hack a simmons... dude doesn't even know what hand to shoot with lol
On the one hand, JJ Redick. On the other, Justise League.
7 OTs in the 7th game. Adam Silver will have to step in and annoint one to go on and face Jayson Tatum's Celtics for the championship.
Sorry, WC, this isn't your year.

I mean, Philly is led by young players yes and this could matter if the Heat were led like by experienced vets or something.
... But the Heat players have almost no playoff experience. I wonder if people are just coding "Heat means veteran team" when the Heat are a collection of dudes with a handful of playoff games to their name.

By IWMTB19 Go To PostI mean, Philly is lead by young players yes and this could matter if the Heat were led like by experienced vets or something. They're more experienced than most of the other east playoffs teams. Miami isn't gonna just lose games for you. That's what a lot of young teams depend on and honestly it's one of Philly's biggest issues all season long - they can't close games for shit and make horrible adjustments if any.

Miami is not the team for that lol. Also Embiid only recently played his 82nd game as well. If he slows up even a little bit the sixers turn into Orlando. Hope they steal some games early otherwise 💀
so when philly goes to the ECF you two are like "yeah i mean they just had to beat Miami and injured Boston, no big deal".

I agree w/ all the Philly slander.
I feel like we got trolled w/ this run. JJ is a professional choker. Marco has been hitting some bullshit ass shots that can't keep going in. Simmons and Fultz are scared to shoot and Miami has goons ready to fuck em up and even if they call fouls...they aren't going to make them at a high enough rate. Embiid is key but he often trys to do so much to fuck w/ Whiteside.....so yeah... I question why people are locking us into the conference finals like that.
I'm just happy to be here fam

At some point when you're picking Heat over 76ers, you're picking the inexperienced, super mediocre team over the inexperienced, really good team with the next Hakeem and Magic on it.
Maybe the Heat people are right, but this Heat team is extremely mediocre and isn't built for the playoffs at all.

By IWMTB19 Go To PostAt some point when you're picking Heat over 76ers, you're picking the inexperienced, super mediocre team over the inexperienced, really good team with the next Hakeem and Magic on it.The thing is we don't even know if Embiid is going to play, if so how much, and with what intensity. If he's able to go full bore then sure, that's a top 5 team, before adjusting for experience. But it looks like a lock that he can't go in game 1, which is probably a bad sign.
