The state of this, I'll be glad when we ditch Puma season after next.
By n8 dogg Go To PostI miss pizza so much. It’s the thing I miss most on my diet. Only have it when I’m plastered now.I haven't had pizza since I went vegan until two days ago. Went to a place in Oakland that served a good selection of vegan pizzas. It was pretty good, could have actually done without the cheese substitute.

Just finished my rewatch of Deadwood S1. Those last few eps are as perfect as television gets. McShane’s performance not bettered for me as far as TV goes.

So, if Chelsea overtakes Pool and finishes 4th, but both Pool and Arsenal win their respective European competitions, does that mean everyone in the top 6 makes CL next season?

By inky Go To PostSo, if Chelsea overtakes Pool and finishes 4th, but both Pool and Arsenal win their respective European competitions, does that mean everyone in the top 6 makes CL next season?CL winner gets automatic CL qualification, EL winner gets CL playoff, fourth gets EL (I think).

In the situation where the teams in 5th and 6th win the CL and EL, the 4th placed team will not be in the CL next season.
You can only have 5 teams from one association in the CL.

By Scum Go To PostBut I thought EL winners went straight to the Group Stages?According to what I read off Wikipedia a moment ago, it seems like they only go in the playoff if they are the fifth team from the league.

Still though. 6 EPL clubs in Yurop.
Rodgers won his second Scottish Premiership title with Celtic at the weekend, but his handling of Charly Musonda, who was not even in the matchday squad for the 5-0 thrashing of Rangers, has not gone down well at Stamford Bridge.
Musonda was sent to Celtic on an 18-month loan until the end of next season, but could well cut his stay in Scotland short after starting just two league games so far. The 21-year-old has not started a game since February 18.
Rodgers had assured Chelsea and Musonda that the talented Belgian would get plenty of chances to gain experience of first-team football at Celtic. He made similar promises over Josh McEachran, when he was Swansea City manager, and Victor Moses, when he was in charge of Liverpool.
[…]
Other than the failed loans and perceived broken promises, Rodgers angered Chelsea officials in 2012 when, during his time as Swansea manager, he was asked about the possibility of succeeding Andre Villas-Boas.
Rodgers replied: “I am trying to build my career and not destroy it.” Those words have not been forgotten by those still in positions of power at Chelsea.
The Blues were furious at the disrespect shown by Rodgers, who was appointed as Chelsea’s head youth coach in 2004 and was promoted to reserve team manager two years later.
[…]
It seems Rodgers will have to wait for an opportunity away from Chelsea, but former France and Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc is trying to force his way into contention to succeed Conte.
Blanc would have the backing of David Luiz, but could only currently be considered an outsider for the post with Chelsea most interested in Mauricio Pochettino, Maurizio Sarri, Luis Enrique and Max Allegri.
By Francis Go To PostOh no. I am so sad.
By Francis Go To PostI see no lies detected from Rodgers here (for once). Chelsea's loan carousel is ridiculous (and if they are not good enough they are not good enough) and having had twelve different managers in the last eleven years it's like changing your underwear every 10 mins (which should do if you're young and fertile tbf).

By n8 dogg Go To PostWonder why Blanc isn’t getting another job. Did well with PSG. It’s probably the racism.I'm wondering myself.
Not like PSG was the only place he did well, his job at Bordeaux was also pretty damn good. Who knows, might be his own career plans and I've got no idea how good his english is.
Bayern for example wanted a german speaking coach after the whole thing with Ancelotti.
By inky Go To PostYou were 5th m9, we finished 6th lol.
I know m8. You were the fifth team from the English league to join the UCL. That's what i understood by 5th team from the league.
It makes no sense as well to give a better reward to a team that finished lower (you finished 6th and went to group stage, if you had finished 5th youd have gone to the playoffs? Wtf lol)

Yeah, I think it was changed when the top leagues got the 4 direct spots. Although they wanted EL to mean something. It definitely benefited us going straight into pot 2 (not that we took advantage of it, losing to fucking Sevilla).
