So Sanchez gets to play again despite being complete fucking utter shit

KDB is the POTY for me but I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't win it -- it would align with the last two title winning seasons for City. Salah is having a magnificent season so fair play to him if he does do it, but there should be some reward for leading the team to a title especially when done at an absolute canter.
By sohois Go To PostKane is a striker and much more the focal point of Tottenham's attack. Salah is a winger and thus less likely to get on the end of chancesI think that distinction is far less obvious these days depending on how a team is set up. I'm sure if you look at a map of Salah's goals, most of them probably are from a position that is similar to a striker (inside the box, fairly central). He isn't actively involved in tracking back and trying to defend at all like a more traditional winger does in 2018. For reference, he has only 5 tackles and 5 interceptions all season (hell, Kane has 3x the number of tackles as him). Not at all trying to diminish or minimize his number of goals, just pointing out that he is effectively a roving "striker" as goal scoring is his primary duty.

He probably walks his dogs right good, too.
By Laboured Go To PostViva's taking a break from his Lukaku bashing.Well, he was utterly wrong about him, didn't even want him, so no more he can say on that front at this point.
Alexis has been disappointing yes. But that's not the worst part, it's the part where the team has been even more unbalanced by his inclusion that is worrying, and that's all on fucking Mou.
By Vivalapizza Go To PostSo who is everyones player of the season? KdB or Salah?
For a long time I would have said KdB - and he is still my favourite player in the league and imo still the best player in the league.
But I think I'd vote for Salah, just because of the individual impact he has had in so many games. It's basically Ronaldo 07/08 levels.
That’s a good shout actually; Salah has been more important to Pool’s success than KDB has been to City’s... but in terms of overall performance I think it has to be De Bruyne.
My six would be:
De Bruyne
Silva
Salah
Kane
Ederson
Sane
How is Ederson on there
It's your list so feel free
And I get he's better than Claudio fucking Bravo and he actively promotes how City plays
But what has he justified to be in the realm of player of the year for the premierleague
I really must be missing something

By Laboured Go To PostPoor Sterling.
Been really good too - and his goals have been crucial - but Sane has been better.

- He hasn’t put a foot wrong all season (the only wrong foot went into his fuckin face)
- completely freed city up to play how they want
- first season in a physically punishing and demanding league, look at DDG’s in comparison
- legit one of the best long range passers in the league and entirely crucial to the way city set up
DDG’s had a few more standout performances but that’s because our defence sucks eggs. He hasn’t had as much an impact on the side as Ederson has overall.
By inky Go To PostWell, he was utterly wrong about him, didn't even want him, so no more he can say on that front at this point. If we go out to Sevilla then you will hear a lot from me about his appalling finish in the away leg when he missed from 8 yards out

And let's not pretend Lukaku is having another other than an okay season
By Vivalapizza Go To PostIf we go out to Sevilla then you will hear a lot from me about his appalling finish in the away leg when he missed from 8 yards outI'm sure I will, but if we go out to fucking Sevilla at home I'm not gonna put it all on him like you.
Yes, Lukaku is having an okay season, works hard and has improved his movement and influence outside the box, which is why the constant bashing is ever more of a puzzler when other players are having completely appalling seasons.
By inky Go To PostI'm sure I will, but if we go out to fucking Sevilla at home I'm not gonna put it all on him like you.I critcise Mourinho way more than I do Lukaku
You guys just get weirdly defensive about him because he runs around alot
i agree with viva, and i'm mostly weirded by how positive united fans seem to be about lukaku.
at his core, he is a thick welbeck.
at his core, he is a thick welbeck.
if lukaku could somehow cross to himself he'd be well above 30 goals rn.
welbeck would've tripped over the ball and died trying that move to setup the winner vs chelsea

I just think it's misplaced animosity. Comparing Lukaku to Welbeck tho... I'm not even gonna touch that one.
i want to order song to song, but it seems like everyone is selling the same german version.
i don't want the case be in german, but in english.
actually thinking about this a lot.

fucking disgraceful heresy
distasteful too
We can all agree Lukaku is having a better season than Morata.
And both are having a better season than Andre Silva.
And both are having a better season than Andre Silva.
Lukaku is selfless, always dedicated, puts in a shift every single game, plays every single game, is improving with the ball at his feet, has set up goals or been integral without actually getting the final pass, constantly runs the channels to open up space, and has over 20 goals in a team that is shit at attacking with at least 12 games left.
Do I stan for him too much? Maybe. I just fucking love seeing someone on our side who really fucking cares and is dedicated to improving, because we have not had enough of that since 2013. His reaction after the Saints game is one of my favourite moments of the season.

By Perfect Blue Go To PostPogba vs. Wijnaldum
Lukaku vs. Welbeck
that's not fair. i did not just have my arnie moment.
pogba vs wijnaldum is a potentially world class midfielder vs. someone who couldn't even impress in the eredivisie.
lukaku vs. welbeck, though... both have an incredibly difficult time with the very basics of how to caress a ball with the inside of the foot.

The Good Place is a "Netflix show" in the UK I noticed. If you haven't seen it before, please watch that. I've thoroughly enjoyed two of their original anime shows this year.. Devilman Crybaby (truly insane) and the brand new show B: The Beginning. I watched 4-5 episodes of that while traveling for a wedding this weekend and it's really interesting.
Saponara's instagram post for Astori is killing me :(

I dont know how 23 goals and 6 assists can be considered having an ok season. Lukaku's having a good one, but as always, he could be doing better.
By Laboured Go To PostYikes! They mentioned on the broadcast that he was unwell and reportedly sleeping on the Chelsea bus but you could never imagine something of this magnitude. Good to hear that the tests came back clear.. hopefully he's truly alright.
By FlutterPuffs Go To PostI dont know how 23 goals and 6 assists can be considered having an ok season. Anything less is underwhelming. level of possession, number of (quality) chances, high xG expected of the top clubs etc
By Punished Go To PostAlways feel for a top four side numbers like that should be expected. Anything less is underwhelming.Aye, I agree. For a top 4 side a 20+ goal a season for a striker should be the standard.
Other than a false 9 like Firmino.
I like Lukaku but I am worried about his ceiling, but as a player, effort wise, personality, top drawer
By Grizzled Cola Go To PostI like Lukaku but I am worried about his ceiling, but as a player, effort wise, personality, top drawerYeah, as much as I love him, the main reason why we got him is because only 4 'good' strikers were available early this season, at a time where our main one is off with an ACL injury.
By Punished Go To PostGoing to assume that Churchill film sucked balls, like the man himself.
Playing it safe like the movie eh?
Lukaku will always have the price tag to live up to which can be a tough legacy. You look at Sterling initially and he was getting raked over the coals. With Lukaku, you compare his output to the fact he’s either the most expensive (add-ons) or second most expensive striker of all time and it looks somewhat disappointing. He’s been patchy in terms of production. I like him a lot though.
