By Pennywise Go To PostNobuhiro Watsuki had nothing to do with the OVAs luckily. Not that the normal Kenshin is bad, but the OVAs are on a whole different level.Damn, they block the content of this video in America. Hard to imagine that it has been nearly 20 years now I guess, but I still have the DVDs for this -- they called it "Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal" here. Didn't realize it had been redone on Blu-ray, it looks like that version is hard to find here nowadays. I'll keep an eye out because I'd love to see it again in a modern format.
Also the Blu-Ray version is pretty great Meier.
Sadly 4:3, but the art with that quality was a pleasure to watch.
By Frustrated_me Go To PostWhy do all anime female characters look like they're 14 years old?
Can you anime gurus please explain?
they're really 1000 years old don't get it twisted.

Lads, the narrative at the world championships.
The heavy favorite for the event is Alina Zagitova, the reigning European and Olympic champion. It's her first season as a senior - she's only 15! She broke her teammate, Evgenia Medvedeva's, record in the short program at the Olympics, which proved crucial to her besting Medvedeva for the Olympic gold. If she does win, she'd be the first woman ever to top the podium at the Euros, Olympics, and Worlds in the same season.
This could've been Medvedeva's opportunity for redemption - to win the world championship for the third year in a row. But it turns out that despite skating flawlessly at the Olympics and finishing with a silver just behind her upstart teammate-rival, she did so with a fractured metatarsal. She decided to sit out the world championships to heal.
Enter the new challenger: Carolina Kostner, the 31-year-old Italian grande dame of elegant figure skating. The winner of the 2012 world championship finished 6th at last year's worlds and 5th in the Olympics and has been talking retirement. She skates as a competitor for perhaps her final time - and does so in Italy itself.
And then in one of those stories so indicative of Italian sport, Carolina, after what is certainly a nice performance, earns her personal best. Yes, a 31-year-old nearing retirement does numerically the best she has ever done. Nothing irregular about that.
Zagitova takes the ice immediately afterwards. She does what she does best: impeccably performed and technically superlative skating that anyone else in the world would bribe and knee-smash for. Her technical score tops Kostner's, despite Kostner's inflated grades of execution. It looks like she should probably finish first, with scores in line with what she ordinarily achieves. And, yet, amazingly she's penalized just enough on her performance scores to put her a point behind first place.
So now we go to the free program on Friday evening to determine who will win, flawless athleticism or cancerous sentimentality.

Shanks himself couldn't inflate an Italian's performance more egregiously.
By Killer7 Go To PostWe need football.5 and 6am here.
At least the World cup games will be on at reasonable times this year.
At least it wasn't at 4am like that club world cup.
Too many words, too few stats like xG xJ or dribbles technical elements per 90 in that Flabber post. Would not read again.

Yup, the drawings are pretty timeless and put alot of recent stuff to shame.
It's also called Trust and Betrayal here, but Tsuiokuhen was the japanese name and the only vid on YT that has the BR quality.
Maybe you'll find it used somewhere cheap. You can get it for 13€ new here, but the region code is different :/

Back to more important topics... I wonder if they made Cowboy Bebop today if there would be even a fraction of the smoking in it.

Asians still love smoking so I doubt it would matter.
By Frustrated_me Go To PostGuti in charge of Castilla should be great, he's moving up the ranks with the kids from Juvenil A so it should be a natural progression for him.Solari has been dogshit, good guy though
Excited to see how Raul is integrated back too :)

By Facism Go To Postbig gym session followed by 30 miles of cycling in the dark.I have found running around a track infinitely more satisfying than running random places, I think its the proximity to a loo and water fountain, also you can accurately measure the distance and there are floodlights, no people either generally.

I hate running around a track.
I have had to do it for the past month due to a tear in my meniscus and it has been boring as shit. Running around the same piece of track 30 times just does nothing for me. Felt so good getting back out on the road last Sunday.

Rvy, the age of consent in Japan is definitely not 13 even though thats the official line in the penal code. There’s a separate law which stipulates it’s illegal to do it with anyone under 18, so basically it’s 18.
I dunno why anime characters look so young. There’s probably deep anthropological reasons for that, but my observation is that cuteness is a popular virtue in Japan and that often translates to youthfulness.
