5 English clubs in the last 16, 2 make it to the quarter finals. If Chelsea manage to sneak in I’ll be amazed. Pretty shit showing.

Theres a new breed of English teams in Europe now.
Spurs got pretty unfortunate with the draw tbf. Although I feel they got off very lightly from the pundits for how open they were at 1-1 immediately after conceding, a score which would have still taken them through.
Man Utd have no excuse, neither do Chelsea if they get knocked out since they finished below Roma

I'm really not sure what today's doom and gloom on United is all about. It wasn't even the worst performance United has had this season.
Not about to talk about Mou, since we have already given him an extension so it's pointless to call for his head. Not to mention this came after we won 2-0 against Liverpool while keeping one of the best attacking teams in football from having a shot on target in the 2nd half.
Our players are definitely naive, and Sanchez just isn't working out at the moment. I want his drive and grinta, but instead what I see is him dropping deep as a playmaker. It's such a waste of his talent to just take it to the opponent and break them down like how he did with Arsenal.
Almost everyone looked nervous, with Rashford being excellent one moment, and horrible the other. With Pogba, he's probably playing injured. I havent seen him dribbling well for a long time, and his passes have been substandard in the past few games.
That loss seems like just another loss for me. Maybe it was having to shat almost all of the fluid in my body to properly give a fuck about United today, but I really don't feel angry about it. Maybe it was also losing 2-1 to Huddersfield, and 1-0 to Newcastle this season that losing 2-1 against Sevilla is.... understandable?
Everyone needs to buck up and do better, from the manager, players, down to Adidas in giving us better looking kits next season.

Wanted to make his mark by being his own man when EVERYONE adviced him otherwise. And you're right that Fergie was mostly macromanaging the club.
surely it would have worked out much better
Look at what he's doing with West Ham and Sunderland. Can't believe even I thought it could work out. Embarrassing.

Football teams lose games, that's the nature of the sport. The manner in which you lose is now that says more about what type of team you are.
Mourinho went into this game needing to score goals to proceed and what does he do? He leaves Martial, Mata and his top assist player Pogba on the fucking bench so that Fellaini who has missed the majority of the season through injury can flail around in the middle of the park against fast, ball carrying Spanish midfield.
The fact that we are in March and this team still can't string 3 passes together is damming.
And let's not scapegoat Sanchez, he's forced to play deep because we always seem to be set up deep - Everyone seems to be 15 to 20 yards further back than we should be, hence why everytime a cross went into the box no one was there.
Imagine spending all that money, and your first go-to tactic in a must win game is long ball.
Sickening.
Say what you will about Pep's spend, he would never go into such a a must win game with such staggering amounts of cowardice.

We did the same with Liverpool, and won. Also Ajax where the plan was to bypass the midfield completely. Both pretty good ball carrying teams.
We can argue that it's a shit tactic, with the amount of good players we have and that, I'll agree with you. Nobody likes route one football when it doesn't work.
Also I'm not going to blame not playing Martial and Pogba when both have been injured.

Lets ignore the fact they scrapped through because the ref decided to be their 12th man. If it was a proper referee, United wouldn't have won that game.
Seriously, I dont get why playing a different type of football is called being a coward. With route one it's shit, even more horrible when it doesn't work, but in the end it's just a different way to play football.
Football is not a game played by honorable gentlemen, or even like in Dragonball Z where the aim is to beat the opponent at their own game. The amount of dives and technical fouls should say a lot about it already.

It was a coward tactic. They drew at Sevilla, he knew they needed goals in order to advance, but instead he set up the bus and hoped Sevilla slipped up which didn't happen. IMO Mou's tactic seem to be based all on luck hoping a defender slip up.

Like I said, I dont see how it's a coward tactic. Manchester City uses technical fouls often to stop a team's tempo, Chelsea played route one with a short false 9 to be more defensive. I've never seen things like this as cowardice.
Hell Valverde plays a direct 4-4-2 in a club that was home to the best ball playing teams in history.

I disagree. You drew at Sevilla because Mou set up the team to play out a draw hence why you played like shit. Which he tried again last night.

But they don't sit back and hoof up the ball though. I don't see how you can compare Barca style of play with United.
The last 15 minutes, just after you scored, was one of the worst piece of football ive ever seen. United were just a complete mess, no organization at all, long balls, misspassing, misspossessing. Pure chaos.
It looked really bad. I havent seen Arsenal being as bad as United were on these minutes. It was embarrassing to say the least. Sevilla couldve score 3 goals in that time.

With Mou I hate his tactic of primarily taking advantage of mistakes. Everyone does, Chelsea fans used to put up with it because it gave results. Yet my point is with it being called coward's way to play.
Call it shit, I'll agree. Just don't make it like football is a grand old game where chivalry and honorable defeats are a thing.

Yeah definitely. We are at a point with a manager who wants disciplined play but a team that gets haphazardly stupid during times of distress.
Sometimes I can understand why Atticus wants the whole team, from manager to players, to burn.
Keep Phil Jones. Useful as a rotation option, and homegrown.
Sell Smalling. I'm not sure about Rojo because haven't seen enough of him this season to see if the ACL has impacted him much.

The moment United fans lost all moral high ground about City being linked to inhumane regimes.

Gerrard being a pussy. Never liked him much anyway. Even though he won Liverpool some games, I always thought he cost us games also. Always was selfish and thought he was better than everyone in the team. The slip up is a perfect example as how he cost Liverpool a game. I'm not talking about the actual slip, I'm talking about his performance after the slip.

That clip of Pogba passing from midfield, then. I’m sure you’ve all seen it. Tragic but exactly what I refer to when I say Pogba is not a good midfielder.
He’s an attacking player. A pretty good one. But certainly not a naturally gifted midfielder.
The bigger worry at the moment is Alexis Sanchez.
