Take a look at Immanuel Pherai, he's 16 and looks already 10 years older.
Agree with Bud.
Things appear really bad but truthfully it's just a collective loosening of their confidence and winning mentality. Get a new manager and a couple of determined new signings and watch the rest of the group go up a level to meet the new standards set. There will inevitably be a sense of impassivity within the group because they're all just a cog in a sliding disaster at the moment. No matter how they play they won't finish in the Champions League spots, and will always be deemed failures for the season. It's a horrible cycle of optimism and crushing failure that I remember very well from those initial years when finishing outside of the top four really hurt.
The coach is the biggest thing. Truthfully I don't know much about Jardim so when everyone is tipping him to be the new coach I have zero opinion whatsoever.
I'd still try and go for an Ancelotti or Simeone over him. Or even that Naggelsman from Hoffenheim. I thought he was a cunt, but there's no doubt when we played them in Germany they were one of the best coached teams we've come up against.
I like the idea of Marco Reus - the Fifa cover, Klopp-era Dortmund superstar - more than the reality of Marco Reus. Good for a few games and then gone for a month.

If you'd presented a simple list of plot points reached in that time, I'd think it was plodding shit. As it is, its bloody brilliant so far. Think I know how it ends though, wikipedia'd Thomas Cromwell a couple of months ago for some reason having owned the book for a year or so and had no idea what its about.

Hoffenheim's one touch passing and movement seemed way out of keeping with what we saw from them in terms of general quality. They seemed like excellently coached cloggers in that regard.
By Hitch Go To PostHoffenheim's one touch passing and movement seemed way out of keeping with what we saw from them in terms of general quality. They seemed like excellently coached cloggers in that regard.I felt like they just had the confidence to play that way.
Everything we hear of the coach is that his training methods are unique; he has cameras and screens right there above the training pitches so he halts training frequently to show them what they're doing wrong and move them into position. I like it, it's ultra modern and high-intensity coaching which - for better or worse - has done wonders for Hoffenheim.
Obviously not all coaching can legislate for your best players being poached away by FC Munich of Morder.

Weird. Bellerin has been poor for a while now, and it feels like he's living off his past successes. Fee feels really high for a player of his quality, and high for a club that barely spend any money anyway.

Things are not as bad as some want to make out.
There is City on their own, but the other four clubs are not miles better.
A new coach with new ideas would be able to get top four with this current squad.

That’s as good a reason as any to ensure Arsene is gone in the summer. If not, there’s a good chance the next coach won’t have this squad to work with. To be honest, I’d be surprised if one or two (like Bellerin mentioned above) don’t try to jump ship this summer regardless.
You’re right in that it’s not as bad as people make out, but Arsenal are only one or two wrong steps away from making a pretty bad scenario a reality.

Yeah, the worst case scenerio a few years ago was that new coach might miss out on the CL. Now it is that the team will be completely gutted of any decent players and no decent manager will want to touch us.

Lad, they bought a 29-year-old striker for €90m. The days of the miserly old lady are well behind them.
Getting tickets for the United / Citeh match. Going there to see United give Citeh that guard of honour. Come on April 7th.

I still maintain that the midfield is too weak to be able to compete with the rest. Xhaka does nothing for me.

I just don't think Bellerin is remotely good enough to justify €45m.

How do the fixtures have to go and what are the chances of City actually winning the league during that match (rather than having done it previously)
I'm going to the Newcastle game tomorrow. Need to get an "I LOVE U RAFA" T-Shirt printed.
Yeah, United giving City the lap of honour or them winning the league at OT is very much possible.
I've made my peace with it. Will just burn my brother's City stuff as a silent protest.

Wolf Hall is only the first of three Thomas Cromwell novels, so it doesn’t skip all the way to his execution. The second one in the series is incredibly good as well. Looking forward to the third

I don't want Bellerin, certainly not at that price. I remember being pretty impressed by him a couple of years back, but it looks like he has regressed. Both as a player and as a human being, if his social media fashion posts are to be taken into account. How much of that is due to Wenger and Arsenal's current situation I honestly don't know, but I doubt he'll suddenly turn into a world class player at Juve. He's only 22 tho.

I don't think Bellerin is worth that fee, but I don't think Douglas Costa is worth his fee either. In the current market, 40M€ for Douglas Costa is almost a bargain, an honest price at worst. We'd be absolutely fucked without him right now. He had a rough start, but he's turned his season around imperiously. (Same goes for Bernardeschi. Fuck injuries.) What surprised me the most is how much he's willing to backtrack to lend a hand / foot to our half-functioning midfield. Mandzukic's influence, I reckon.
It’s amazing that back then Nike was ok with showing other competitor brands in the players kits. Except Adidas apparently, which is probably not a coincidence either.
And that they already had a thing about the Portuguese NT in their ads.

oh i thought his issue was that his defense had slipped a bit, which i don't really blame on him at Arsenal cause nobody can defend over there.
I'm all for standing but those choreographed Ultras sections with speakerphones where everyone is herded into singing, acting and performing the same things simultaneously are dumb as fuck. Football is about expression and the passion of watching a game live should be left to breath, not structured to within an inch of its life in the name of atmosphere.
Did the Canadian Cup final in Toronto last year and we were right behind their Ultras. Embarrassing bunch of lads.
If we ever get approval from the Hillsborough Trust to introduce standing sections then they should go on the Kop and in the redeveloped Anfield Road. It's not for everyone but it no doubt massively changes the atmosphere. And standing as it is with chairs at your shins is both dangerous and painful.
