In another stunning example of Katt Williams being right again ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCzCseQKWaw ), you gotta get you some White friends. You're gonna need them to continue being token landlords, it would seem.
Per a yearlong analysis of 31 million records by Reveal News ( https://www.revealnews.org/article/for-people-of-color-banks-are-shutting-the-door-to-homeownership/ ), a total of 61 metropolitan areas revealed the epidemic "redlining" of Black and Hispanic mortgage applicants, which is when they are routinely denied loans even when controlling for applicants' income, loan amount, and neighborhood.
That means that even when all things are equal, the banks are making sure all things are not equal.
The analysis has been independently reviewed and confirmed by The Associated Press.
Tell me, again, why did we bail the banks out again? So they could continue the rampant and systemic segregation and disenfranchisement of American citizens?

African Americans faced the most resistance in Southern cities – Mobile, Alabama; Greenville, North Carolina; and Gainesville, Florida – and Latinos in Iowa City, Iowa.
“I had a fair amount of savings and still had so much trouble just left and right,” said Rachelle Faroul, a 33-year-old black woman who was rejected twice by lenders when she tried to buy a brick row house close to Malcolm X Park in Philadelphia, where African Americans were 2.7 times as likely as whites to be denied a conventional mortgage.

Hey Fender, if we were adjacent neighbors, would you be willing to combine our two properties into one super property? There could be a lobby with a receptionist, with guest rooms used for Airbnb. Partner up to finish paying off a third property, amalgamate the properties further. Keep rinsing and repeating. Would that be insane or what?!
I hope this is just one of those USA predjuduices and not like a UK thing.
Come with us to America my parents said, land of opportunity the promised. smh.

In a hypothetical where you were as close as my closet friends, maybe. Though I don't think my current local is Air BNB desirable.

Presumably to take some jerbs.
Redlining is precisely why my eyes rolled way back into my head when Bernie's "rising tide lifts all boats" crap came out. Not when racism is this embedded into systems it doesn't. Without real follow through on all the means by which people can be shits to subjugated groups, "equality" is just words on paper. Racists, sexists, homophobes, transphobes, xenophobes will game systems and people look the other way or genuinely don't care. They get the moral superiority of "but I'm not racist" and yet their neighborhood retains its "whiteness." It's why some of us talk about how there's more than just one kind of __ism out there. Lot of people who aren't fine with "racism" but are chill the status quo.
I am completely sure that this is just a terrible injustice. When will this division by skin color already end? It's just disgusting in the modern world.
