Nothing immediate on this, no. There's quite a bit of work I would have to invest to make this feasible, so this was a long-term vision type of thing to gauge what the userbase might find acceptable.
To be honest, my priority has been finding a job (it's been extremely time consuming and especially anxiety-inducing), and I have one major thing on my docket I want to release (new profiles) before I tackle this. It'll all happen, it's just a long-term project.
TBH, nothing would stop us from opening up a Patreon today and accepting donations/subscriptions, I just wanted to offer a big reason to do so. However, a few people have said they were willing to help fund the site without even getting something extra out of it, so if there's consensus on people being okay with that then we can do this tomorrow. I just want to be straight-forward about the benefits of doing so (basically you'd just be doing it out of the goodness of your heart), and would rather have "subscription-based features" in place before opening it up, but if people don't care and are willing to wait for those extra benefits, then let's investigate that.
And on the traffic bit: it's definitely more active than when it was a year ago. To be honest, most people chose to migrate for ResetEra, and that's totally fine. The gaming community from GAF was always extremely tight-knit and they wanted to keep the foundation of that vision going. SL&ENT's vision since day 1 and long-term has never been to replicate that. Not to imply by any means that it's a bad vision, just that SL&ENT exists for different reasons and where we see ourselves going I imagine is quite different as well.

- Example: n8 writes a movie review in the Film thread, he can then choose to also convert it into a post on his profile
- Custom Profile covers
- Ability to add any field up to 140 characters on your profile
- Feedback I have received was that people want to have their Gamertag on there, but which Gamertags? I this will be dynamic and you can add any field you wish (probably up to 5 fields at a time)
- PM users directly from their profile (also has been requested)
- Better ability to edit/manage your profile
- New login, sign up, and account recovery UI
I'm looking forward to being able to tag effort posts and add them to profiles so that 1) I never have to struggle to find them and 2) easily share them with others as a way of enticing them to at least lurk here.
Yea exactly! And with that I also will eventually add the ability to connect to your social media accounts eg Twitter and Facebook and post to them as well.

Essentially, if you became a SL&ENT Patron, the backend can be notified and I can tag you as a subscriber on our site. I imagine this can be done via email matching (so as long as your email in Patreon is the same on SL&ENT).
