By Unreal Champ Go To PostDude jumped in front of him as he is about to kick the ball. At the speed Lamela came around the corner there is no way he could have pulled out.
Players get their body between the ball and defender all over the pitch all of the time an no one bitches when they get fouls for doing it. Until there's a penalty from doing it, obviously.
There are not, and should not be, two different interpretations for what is a foul in the box and elsewhere on the pitch.
Completely agree, Viva. Is Lindelof injured? Need him in ahead of Sterling just to help with building play.
Agree with sanchez too.
Know he played last week in the cup. Not sure what Watford will do, obviously know nothing about the coach. Played Chels off the pitch at thr Bridge and lost 4-2.

By Arnie Go To PostI agree, fwiw
But yea, soft as shit.
Still hope Jurgen nails Jon Moss. Absolute cretin of a man.
Need something from Watford tomorrow. Is TClev fit?

By rerixo Go To Postliverpool very unlucky, but at least we confirmed salah > kaneDoesn’t really matter who is better since according to sources Real Madrid are buying both as well as Hazard, De Gea, Courtois, and LeBron James.
By FlutterPuffs Go To PostMaybe the linesman saw contact between Moss' lips and a water bottle and overruled his decision becahse he knew betterIf someone kicks the ball to my back and it get deflected into the striker who is miles offside wouldn't it still be offside?
By JesalR Go To PostEvery decision that mattered was correct. Alli absolutely dived, but was given a yellow for it. To act like you were playing against 13 is farcical.
Maybe suck your mums was unnecessary, but it's pretty much a joke where I grew up.
lol don't sweat it dude, I'm being a cunt myself
haven't felt this steamy after a match in a while. We were really bad in the second half, and conceding after that Salah goal which should have just been GG is pure pain
By Laboured Go To PostThe first is arguably a pen because Lovren's touch may constitute deliberate under the rules. The audio they played on Sky showed Moss and the linesman did just that and concluded Lovren touched the ball rendering Kane's position moot.
Kane certainly dove after the fact, but his move to get the ball around Karius and leap into the air is tough not to give at full speed.
By Laboured Go To PostPlayers get their body between the ball and defender all over the pitch all of the time an no one bitches when they get fouls for doing it. Until there's a penalty from doing it, obviously.Yup. At the end of the day, if Lamela gets himself between the defender and the ball, and has the space to control it, then kicking him in the leg regardless of intent is a foul

Laboured you try Hunt alpha version yet?
Seems like there too many issues to get into a game properly. Also feels super slow. Atmosphere is good though, so cautiously optimistic

Avert the attention
By Oddinho Go To Postlol don't sweat it dude, I'm being a cunt myselfI get it. I was about to come into this thread vile as fuck when we were about to lose, and there was nothing moderately contentious about Liverpool's goals, so I can see why you're vexed.

By Hitch Go To PostWe need to sort our stamina management outmost likely the consequence of relentless pressing.
Can't fuck yourselves for a 1-0 lead
its great if it has netted you 3-4 goal lead by 60th minute but it is impossible to maintain for 90 minutes
Did they change the interpretation of interference? Shite attempt at a clearance or not, surely Lovren is trying it because of Kane's clearly offside position?
Either way, don't really give a bollocks about the first one. He missed, we scored, then we fucked it up anyway.
Salah's passing is horrendous sometimes, but when he's in the box...

By Francis Go To PostKatie Hopkins collapsed after taking ketamine? What a time to be alive.
By JesalR Go To PostLol. Imagine anyone watching those big decisions and not thinking they were correct. The issue with the Kane is that he is offside when the pass is played to him so the play should have been called dead regardless of the defender slicing it.
Alli dives: Yellow
Kane not offside because Lovren touches the ball, contact from Karius: Pen
Salah not offside: Goal
VVD kicks Lamela up the arse: Pen
Suck your mums
Anyway, the gif above shows more clearly that VVD kicks him quite clearly. In the earlier moments, I thought it was the knee into his body which was being called and in that, it seemed incredibly soft. Definitely the right decision.
Oh yeah, Wijnaldum continues to disgust me. Can't wait til we fuck him off. Played like he'd been on for 180 minutes, when he was supposed to replace Henderson who'd run himself into the ground.
By Hitch Go To PostDid they change the interpretation of interference? Shite attempt at a clearance or not, surely Lovren is trying it because of Kane's clearly offside position?Yeah, Kane wouldn't be consider offside until he runs towards the ball or challenges a player.

It's a bad rule, but it's technically correct.

By Meier Go To PostThe issue with the Kane is that he is offside when the pass is played to him so the play should have been called dead regardless of the defender slicing it.
That's incorrect. He's not interfering with play.

Van Dijk and Lovren had a pretty good game I thought. Firmino and Mane both had stinkers. Firmino in particular looks exhausted, I've never seen him be so selective about when he sprints and presses, and his touch was lethargic as well. Dembele was very good, Alli had another bad game against us, and Kane was a nuisance. Both keepers were good. Eriksen was probably Spurs' best player, he was key to how they controlled the second half. Salah did his job and then some, really love the guy.

I don't know if everyone is just drunk or what, but this makes it pretty clear that it wasn't a pen

That is not a penalty. In fact I think it's a dive.
By JesalR Go To PostThat's incorrect. He's not interfering with play.Fair enough. I guess I can see how that interpretation could be used. By the nature of the pass being to him rather than him as a bystander benefiting from a mistake, you’d think he would be considered to be interfering, but I can see the other way by the letter of the law.

This gif makes it clear VVD kicks the back of his leg. You can see both his foot and Lamela’s leg reflect the contact. The other angle is inconclusive.

By n8 dogg Go To PostForget even arguing about contact, at no point does Lamela have control of the ball, not does he make an attempt to control it. He just jumps straight into VvDs leg and collapses. Very similar to Calvert Lewins pen for Everton
By Francis Go To PostHe kicks his shin. It’s really obvious. No wonder its taken so long for him to come back if they stitched his leg on the wrong way round ¬¬

If you could devise an angle to purposely obscure viewing the contact of this particular incident it would be exactly like the one sohois posted (not blaming you ofc, just saying it's incredible how that angle exists)

Didn’t he score a belter against Gent or Genk or whoever last season in the EL?
Off for a Nando’s on my own to clear my head.
Then I’ll watch Atletico versus Valencia.
Then Super Bowl.
Day off tomorrow.
Silver linings everywhere. Despite Jon Moss being a cunt.

How on earth can that be considered shielding?
