By Arnie Go To PostThe realisation that you’ve missed a nice day in the sun to watch Tottenham, United and City win.
It’s absolutely freezing
Can’t wait to get back inside
Great result. Things to take away from that:
- 4-3-3 doesn’t just benefit Pogba, it helps Matic too. Both of them had their best games in ages and part of that is due to having the freedom to do what they do best with an extra man in the middle. Of course McTom is not a quality player but he is doing a job that helps better players. We need to stick to this system.
- Sanchez is still finding his feet which is understandable, but numerous times today he tried to be the hero and wasted it.
- Compare that to Lukaku, who as usual was tireless, selfless and completely committed to ensuring we won the game. I hope he wins our Player of the Year award; no one but De Gea’s been better for us, and he’s already got fifty of them.

Suprised Hazard was taken off.
Better 2nd half. Pogba grew into it.
Would like to see more from Sanchez, still needs time to gel with the team.

By FlutterPuffs Go To PostSooooo technically Lukaku didn't score against a top 4 club?
Because Chelsea is fifth.

looks like us vs them on the table
Important result.
Performances midweek and today have been appalling and leave me sceptical about the future of this team under Mourinho.
Lukaku was outstanding today. Delivered a performance in terms of quality and character that the likes of Pogba and Sanchez haven't been close to.

Very possibly a 7 point gap between us and 5th by the end of the next round of fixtures. Will break something if we don't beat Newcastle.
What really stings is that we'd be well clear in second if we didn't drop nine points to Bournemouth, Watford and United. Been a brutal 2018 for Conte, but especially bad for Morata who hasn't scored since Boxing Day.
By W Go To PostShame about Christensens last few games. Cost some goals, even if still overall looking pretty good. But just can't do stuff like he did against Barca, and needs to get in the way of the second goal today. Hopefully he keeps playing over Cahill thoughDespite the loss, I quite like this back three moving forward, which means the next manager will have his own players in mind and bring someone else in. :/

Am I right in thinking there’s no qualification round in the CL for the 4th placed team next season? If so, takes a hell of a lot of pressure off.
Next weekend massive for the top 4.

thought it was a decent performance as the game went on. we grew into it. this should be the baseline and we turn up the heat from here.
Congrats to United. Overall any result would have been fair but if one team had to edge it, it would be United. Chelsea played well in the middle third of the pitch but Lukaku outshone Morata by quite some distance and Pogba did more creatively than Chelsea’s midfielders, and that was enough to make the difference.

Same goes for Spain, Germany and Italy as well I think, despite Juve propping up Italy's CL record single-handedly the last few years.

One of Chelsea or United isn’t going to make top 4 this year IMO. Spurs and Liverpool both look like we have what it takes.
Christensen will come good. Making some amateurish mistakes, but far better than say, Stones when he first came to City.
By n8 dogg Go To PostLiving for the fady timeline
I don't even want to look, I can easily imagine what it consists of already: Lots of tweets from accounts called Hazardoholics, possible with some calling Conte a modern day Mussolini, while mixing in with his own tweets about the offside, Morata (and then a retweet Marseilles Batshituay goal for Dortmund) and whining Christensen making mistakes, despite claiming he wants younger players to be given a chance at Chelsea. I'm sure he found a way to blame BaklaYolo as well.

I wouldn't really say amateurish. Nothing that I wouldn't expect from.... Well... Any of the other Chelsea CB's really. The only truly terrible mistake he made was the Barca goal, even if he should have done a lot more today as well.
By Feorax Go To PostMm I think the "big game" factor is potentially over played here - especially given that all those sides have dropped plenty of points against weaker sides.
Big ask for Chelsea that.
For the moment they're still within a result of Spurs and have a chance to gain ground when United play Liverpool in a couple of weeks.
At this point of the season I think momentum and form is more of a factor than the fixture list.
By Killer7 Go To PostGet rid of Rudiger. Make Zouma alive again.
Arsenal pls win
I think the plan is for Zouma to come back in. But after being out for as long as he was injured, I think loaning him out for a season was a sensible decision. Rudiger is fine as well, pretty decent signing so far. Cahill is who needs to go next window, and with the addition of Barkley and Drinkwater now, the team can easier afford it on the home grown front.

Scarily accurate.

Was harsh on McTom but he did press as much as he could and helped Pogba and Matic play great in the second half.
Excited to see what the lad Aubameyang can do.
Aguero hasn't scored in a final since he started playing in Europe. Suprising stat.
