By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostVery few plays arrive in England and are ready.
Of technical players, I really only feel Henry and Aguero arrived and hit it out the park straight away.
Even Pires was a flop his first year and there was talking of him going back to France.
Players need time to adjust to the PL, which is gained through regular playing time and faith from the coach.
No fucking shit. I agree, and that is where Mou failed with Lukaku and De Bruyne, who both showed lots of talent even if inexperienced at the highest level. But you can't have someone like Salah who was failing everything and being a liability every time he had the ball. You can't show someone like that confidence week in and week out. It would be playing with 10 players and costing the team.
Was Henry good straight out of the gate? I may be mis-remembering but thought he took almost a season to really hit his stride.

26 goals in his first season seems pretty pretty acceptable.

So I am mis-remembering then :lol

Yes, he struggled for a few months. But he did settle in quicker than most.
By Laboured Go To PostSo I am mis-remembering then :lol
Well apparently he failed to score in his first 8 games, but hardly a whole season to get going. Quicker than Torres resettling from Liverpool to London Blue FC.
By Shanks D Zoro Go To Postbut you don't have to get rid of them at the first chance you get.
So what exactly did you want to happen? Him to be benched forever? That sure is showing confidence as you talked about is needed. He was loaned out for two seasons and got a good price for him, going to a club he wanted to be at. Seems like a good deal for all parties involved.
By JesalR Go To PostChanting 'Luis Suarez'… are they fucking serious?
No they are singing it because he used to play for Liverpool Football Club, you see.
Top bunch, as I have said.
Really thought Can had done his knee there, which would’ve been really interesting given his contract situation. Imagine no contract and an ACL injury.
We’re playing quite well and obviously every game at this stage is must win. Creating lots and our combinations are very good.
Karius made a fantastic save at 0-0.

He wasn't great his first few months goal scoring wise, but he was still making good contributions and finally started to hit his stride around November.
By NinjaFridge Go To PostIs Glen Johnson at the match?
No, they'll have to use Mane instead.

Just honoring a legend who was forced out of the country with fake #metoo campaign from the evil Evra.

Mou has a history of not giving players a fair chance, as you have said. Had Mou showed more confidence in him then I am sure he would have developed well at Chelsea.
I don't even know why I am sticking up for Salah, I think he is a pretty one dimensional player lol.
Down to 10 men. 1-0 down. Down to 11th in the league. Might not even finish top half this season, again.
By JesalR Go To PostChanting 'Luis Suarez'… are they fucking serious?
Apart from the guys here, they are a cunt fanbase.
By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostMou has a history of not giving players a fair chance, as you have said.
Yes, and as I said, Salah was shown more confidence than he ever should have.
By Shanks D Zoro Go To Postbut you don't have to get rid of them at the first chance you get. When your owner is a fucking madman and sets certain expectations you don't have very much wiggle room. Swapping Salah for Cuadrado - who somehow turned out to be even worse - makes that point clear.
By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostApart from the guys here, they are a cunt fanbase.Obviously, as you should know, this is absolute nonsense.
By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostNot even close.Eh, what's the point. Whenever a Juve fan speaks about refs, it all inevitably goes Wooden. It was hardly the first match in which shit like that was allowed. Honestly, refs looking the other way where homicide tackles are concerned is the least we have to deal with. The problem is refs know what will happen, if they call a dubious / edge situation in Juve's favour. Weeks and weeks of public outrage, the refs' name dragged through the mud. Even when the ref makes what is undoubtedly the right decision, like when Udinese were left with 9 men, people still find a way to make it seem like Juve got special treatment. "Maybe it was the right call, but the ref should've taken into account the social context."
City fans would have never shut up if they saw some of the tackles on Juve players in the derby last weekend.
I don't even think their was a peep out of Zabo and I.
All it takes is one incident and the ref is immediately marked as a "Tagliaventus". It doesn't matter that Tagliavento himself actually has an absolutely TERRIBLE record with Juve, with dozens of shitty & crucial calls against. One dodgy penalty or even just a missing yellow card is all it takes. And so most refs act accordingly to protect themselves. I don't blame them, it's a basic human instinct. Which is also why I'm not surprised to see Juve near the bottom of every "VAR errors in favour" list out there. It's just a logical consequence.
The whole refs situation is frankly undebatable. Just take a look at the latest case. It's been almost a week since Toro - Juve and Mediaset is still regurgitating polls a la "do you agree with TV proof not being used in the case of Chiellini's punch?". When it was clearly unintentional and not much of a punch to begin with. Cue the hundreds of pundit speeches and social network posts about how shit like this is only allowed in Italy, while in Europe, Chiellini would get a red card every other match. Giorgio Chiellini - 72 CL caps - 1 red card.

By W Go To PostYes, and as I said, Salah was shown more confidence than he ever should have.
but he came in as a january signing and you could tell he was trying too hard and fucked up.
Apart from his six months at Chelsea, his whole career has been a success.

Arnautovic stationing himself on Matip is a big worry. Need a second.
Suarez chants were pathetic, basically racist abuse by proxy.

Pls do not attack Wooden. Palermo died so you could have the the world's handsomest bakla.
By Punished Go To PostOn one hand they're being pricks. On the other, Spirit of Shankly organise donations for local food banks before every (home and I think away) match. There will be parts of every fanbase that do unsavoury things. That is the same of any large collection of extremely varied individuals grouped by one common demoninator.
As you say there are some pretty incredible causes and actions by large swathes of our fanbase which dispel such a myth. And there are similarly impressive things that Liverpool fans do from a supporters perspective that also goes above and beyond, whether it’s the variety of banners, flags and songs taken all the way around the world to the number of fans you’ll see turn up for a friendly in Australia. Liverpool fans are prettt great, on the whole.
But yes I get why singing Luis Suarez’s song in relation to Evra is a dick move. But we love Suarez and football is an emotional sport and anyone thinking otherwise is kidding themselves or doesn’t really get it.

Rafa doing for it Newcastle in the new year. Might have 12 points from a possible 21 since New Years day.

Yeah, I have kinda gotten use to it now.
I just feel for the upper management who don't get the credit they deserve for running the club well these past 7 years and putting onto the field a team that can win titles.
Fans from the other clubs want to find an easy scapegoat for their clubs' failures instead of just looking at the product on the field.
The juve are cheaters and the refs are on their side is an easy narative for them to take than their teams suck.
Can't believe Can didn't get booked for that professional foul, and Zabaleta didn't get booked or worse for planting all 6 studs into Milner's ankle. The latter was obviously completely accidental, but still dangerous as fuck.
By Arnie Go To Post[…]the number of fans you’ll see turn up for a friendly in Australia.
Nothing compared to the City fans at pig 'n' whistle. Those lads* even do bus parades.

Guy played 3 games, for all intents and purposes, he was a Chelsea player who contributed for six months.
