To be fair to Jose Mourinho, whatever his plan was, it was over within a few minutes. Ander Herrera started for Manchester United against Sevilla, and he had two jobs. On Sanchez, I just don’t think he adds anything to United that they were lacking before his signing. People say “hes playing like he’s still at Arsenal” but I just think that’s Alexis Sanchez being Alexis Sanchez. I haven’t been a big fan of his for the last 18 months or so. It’s one of those “couldn’t pass up the chance” signings but Martial is pacier and can work wide areas better.

I have a theory about our goals against record/defence and it starts with the proposition that 80% of our actual defensive personnel aren't actually good at defending.

Mind you, this is a team in the non-leagues of Sweden, so he cant have run far with that money, but if you see him coming past you in Denmark punch him in the face.

They aren’t wrong. Going into a big game I would be much more worried if Dembele were out injured than if Kane were. He takes us to a completely different level in terms of football, it wouldn't have been possible to play the way we did against Juve and Liverpool with Wanyama or Winks in his place.

José plays a (big) part but it's not all on him, Pogba hasn't exactly set the world alight with his recent performances either. Even if given a position and/or task which isn't completely "natural" he still inhabits a great enough skillset to allow him to do a much better job than he's currently done.
With that said - would it be preferable if we played to his actual strengths? Absolutely.
