The Rockets excel at this, because they take the most long 3s. You can't help if your man is shooting from 27 feet out.
We saw this at the All Star game. Team Lebron was blatantly trying to iso Embiid down the stretch.
And it's been accelerating in pickup and local play. When everyone is Steph Curry, guys who don't play man D get you run off the court in 5 minutes.

are you saying most guys can shoot the 3 well in pickup these days? I haven't played much, but if that's the case...it's terrifying
By Kibner Go To PostYes, being easier on the eyes is the purpose of dark themes.
But they are not. Science has proved that ages ago.

well enough for pickup. and often too. nobody about that driving to the bucket life anymore.
By Smokey Go To PostIf you use a bright theme on a forum in 2018, you lost.As Omzz has alluded too... most studies have shown that the white background black/dark text is actually better for your eyes.
Not that I use it. Dark theme all the way. /crawls back into cave.
True story, I've never even looked at this forum's dark theme.
11 of the top 20 3PA guys in my current league are shooting better than 35%, and 6 of those are shooting better than 40%. Our league's leading scorer is averaging 10 attempts/game at 39%, second place guy is at 8 attempts/game at 40%. And this is the lowest level draft league. Guys don't even draft for position anymore, it's pointless, teams with plodding bigs (I'm talking rec league big who plays in the post) just get lit the fuck up.

By diehard Go To Postwait, there's stats in rec leagues?Wait rec leagues draft guys?
By diehard Go To Postwait, there's stats in rec leagues?
This one keeps em, yeah. Two refs and a scorekeeper at every game. They used to have a guy do TS% as well, but that fell off after my first year joining. CAC (Cambridge Athletic Club) is where all of the ex-college athletes in the Boston area play, their A-league is filled with guys who would kill guys like me.
Edit: They have A-League, B1-Leagues, B2-leagues, co-ed leagues, corporate leagues, 4v4 leagues, and various level draft leagues. Draft leagues are fun for people joining up without knowing anyone, the format is 6-10 captains get to choose their squad from a set pool of players. Draft order is kind of like the real draft, with the draft position weighted on the captain's previous player rating (stat similar to PER). Since the league keeps stats and most captains are vets, players are drafted based on their previous performance. Rookies have to write up their own scouting report, and there's a 'draft combine' where they get to show off in an hour or two of pickup to see where they should be drafted.

The two rec leagues I play in keep "positive stats" - points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks. One of them also keeps threes made and fouls and even has PER. Never played in one that keeps shooting percentages though.
By Mariosalic Go To PostWhy?I'm guessing so they can draft better?

Science is only as accurate as the bounds set for a study, and the manner in which the resulting data is interpreted.
I can tell you white text > a whole white screen blaring at me for my eyes.
By livefromkyoto Go To PostScience is only as accurate as the bounds set for a study, and the manner in which the resulting data is interpreted. Most people who use a PC in a dark room would agree with you. If you use it in a properly lit environment.... (projecting there a bit).

Even on a scale as small as a 64-man league, by the end of the season it's usually pretty obvious which captains draft after doing their homework, vs guys who just draft their boys every year.
Plus, the shit-talking is endless. The leagues have their own message boards, and "check my $tats" is always a handy deflection.
The RealGM Raptor board has gone back to full crazy. People talking about DeRozan top 5 all time & stuff.
It's good to have it back.

depends on how much you like efficiency, lack of turnovers, and rebounds
