Wow, wtf happened
That really sucks. This has been a very competitive regular season, but we can only imagine what it would be like if Hayward, Kawaii, and Cousins didn't get hurt.
and Fultz
Lebron is not about that trying before the Finals life:
INDEPENDENCE, Ohio – Fresh off being named MVP of the NBA All-Star Game played in a reimagined format that seemingly reinvigorated the February festivities, LeBron James urged the league to pump the brakes when it comes to potential changes to the playoffs.
"It's cool to mess around with the All-Star Game, we proved you can do that, but let's not get too crazy about the playoffs," James said after Cleveland Cavaliers practice Wednesday. "You have Eastern Conference and you have Western Conference. You have Eastern Conference champions, you have guys from the Eastern Conference that win the big dance and sometimes you have it from the West as well."

By rodeoclown Go To PostI wonder if Kawhi plays for the Spurs again after they totally misdiagnosed his injury.I think so.
i mean, they're one of the better org's with this stuff, so if they fucked up, everyone would have?
Honestly, Kawhi and pop seem really close. The rumours being put out there seem more like media reaching for a story.

I'm kind of not in favour of the 1-16 thing. It's better to have intra-conference rivalry matchups, and for teams not to have to fly to the opposite end of the country throughout the playoffs. I don't actually think it's better for Laker or Warriors fans to miss half their team's playoff games because they drew a bracket full of East coast teams. It also produces even more lopsided series, because the top teams are going to get an even easier draw.
By s y Go To PostMagic's gonna trade for Kawhi and sign PG, then Klay the next year.Meet me outside, b 👊🏾

I'm not sure 1-16 is great, for the reasons you said. But there's a reason no one watches over half the series out East every year.
And teams shouldn't be rewarded for mediocrity.
By Jeff-DSA Go To PostJazz finish 3rd in the West after not losing again and take the Warriors to 7.
I would root for the Jazz here lol. I feel gross.

By pilonv1 Go To PostKawhi for Andre & McCaw & a 2nd rounderi dunno if id give up my 2nd in this deal.
kawhi come back healthy next year, we miss you!
By s y Go To Postwarriors have been fucking cruising the the finals for a minute now too.Not really.
Last year, yes. Once KD was there. Prior?
15-16
1st round 4-1 over HOU
2nd round 4-1 over POR (1 OT win for GSW)
WCF 4 - 3 over OKC
Finals, lost 3 - 4 to CLE
14 -15
1st round 4 - 0 over NOP (1 OT win for GSW)
2nd round 4 - 2 over MEM
WCF 4 - 1 over HOU
finals 4 - 1 over CLE
... and i believe HOU got beat up by OKC in the 2nd round and NeNe went down? Oh no, that was the last dwight season. Houston just came off a 7 game series against LAC.
By giririsss Go To PostNot really.so literally one 7 game series and one 6 game series before the Finals. How is that not cruising to the Finals?

in his 2nd cavs tenure, lbj has had 2 6 game series before the finals. In his Miami tenure, he had multiple 6 and 7 game series. If LBJ is cruising to the Finals, the Warriors are slip n sliding through the West.

15-16
Portland had a 6 game series against LAC
OKC in 5 over Mavs, in 6 over SAS
14-15
Hou in 6 over LAC, in 5 over DAL
Mem in 5 over POR
...

Outside of the top 2 seeds, the east and west standings share virtually the same winning%.
6/10 of the best records are EC teams. The bottom 10 teams are evenly split between east and west teams.
The fucking Raptors have a higher differential than the Warriors(who'll probably sweep the west, again)
The West is only up 16 Ws H2H vs the East becauase Chicago has 20 Ls vs the West.
Yall are just saying shit just to say it, sad!

You can't cite point differential without pointing out that 2 East playoff teams don't have positive differentials.

it could be 8/8 by the weekend.
“They had 12 numbered stations set up for all the guys, so Buddy Hield was set up to be at the No.4 station - and for whatever reason, this huge swarm of media members start surrounding Buddy Hield for his talk.
“There’s like two or three questions about, ‘OK, you’re going to be in the skills challenge, tell us about it, whatever’. And then, pretty much it just goes silent. It’s supposed to be like a 15, 20-minute interview session.
“He’s looking around like, ‘Are you guys all shy, what’s wrong with you reporters? Why aren’t you asking me any questions?’ He’s literally saying this out loud, he’s like looking to his PR guy for help.
“And finally, one of the reporters is like, ‘Dude, LeBron’s going to talk here in about 45 minutes at the same station, so we’re just standing here waiting for LeBron’.
“And the look on Buddy Hield’s face was just like of realisation - the recognition was just so painful.”

By s y Go To PostWrong again. 7 EC teams in the top 16.It's a moronic conversation if you don't enter it from an intellectually honest standing that by any measure, the top of the west is just more stacked with all nba talent.
it could be 8/8 by the weekend.
11 of the 15 all nba players from 2016 - 2017, are now in the west. (All except, LBJ, Giannis, Wall, Derozan).
12 of the 15 all nba players from 2015 - 2016, are now in the west. (All except LBJ, Drummond, Lowry).
11 of the 15 all nba players from 2014 - 2015, are now in the west (LBJ, Blake, Kyrie, with Tim Duncan having retired).
So until you want to do that, then it's a pointless conversation to have.
When you're intellectually honest enough to come from that starting point, you then have to accept that teams in the east, are still going to get wins. Because they play each other. 52 of a teams 82 games are in conference. That means weak middling east teams get to beat up on the other weak middling east teams, AND the bottom of the east. Teams that lack all NBA tier talent. They'll also get to beat up on the bad teams out west.
When doing this, it pays to disregard the bad teams. Because each conference is going to have bad teams.
One way to look at the strength is to look at the depth of the conference. The west has 10 teams over .500. The east 8.
You can judge the strength by the top of the conference, where the west has the two highest winning percentages in the league. And 2 of only 3 with pct's over .700.
You can also look at the historical trend where the west has been beating the east, year on year, for near on 2 decades straight, with only one exception.
But please keep up the schtick. It's not tiresome AT ALL.
my schtick is just as tired as anyone saying the east is trash. at the end of the day, the warriors are still likely to sweep through the west, the same as the cavs with the east. At worst, the conferences are evenly matched.
