By domino Go To Postis nba reddit the biggest online basketball community now?Probably. It must be the single biggest reddit, or one of the top 10.
By Kibner Go To Post*shrug* I browse through their Pels sub-reddit once or twice a year just to confirm that it is still a terrible community. The structure of reddit making it an echo-chamber also just plain doesn't appeal to me when it comes to having discussions.I don't know of a single good team subreddit.
damn 5th in activity and 74th most subscribers

i dont miss spending hours trawling through various scout.com forums to track down recruiting dirt.
Context over style. Shitposts go down and good points go up, many comment sections tend to use a similar mechanics i.e. Fangraphs.
I feel sorry for Jeremy Lin having to step in on that Reddick nonsense. Problem when you're the first Taiwanese-American in the NBA, and this drops during Lunar New Year. And now he has to be Reddick's Asian-American friend.

Or you say something the hive mind agrees and it is what everyone sees, thus enforcing the hive mind.
Makes it very useful for aggregating most useful links and such and very bad for actual discussion.

By Random Ass Username Go To PostI'm gonna say some subs are decent but it's because good moderation exists there.Yeah, this is true.
By giririsss Go To PostIt also creates an echo chamber where memey bull shit reigns supreme. This is true. Also leads to more gang posting/groups to intentionally downvote/promote posts that don't deserve it.
By Smokey Go To PostSounds like a great place to spend some time.I spend a lot of time on reddit. And it's fine. You just have to know what it is and what you're doing. Also knowing how each particular community works and is moderated will significantly change your experience.
By ratcliffja Go To PostI said I dislike him as a person long before that. Why do you think I harped on him so much?Because he's white?
Reddick has been a piece of shit long before this. People wouldn't even give him service at restaurants back in NC.
By DY_nasty Go To PostReddick has been a piece of shit long before this. People wouldn't even give him service at restaurants back in NC.Thank you. There are morally decent white guys in the NBA like Gordon Hayward. I like Milos Teodosic and Kristaps Porzingis a lot as players. My disdain for J. J. Redick is not because he's white, it's because he always seemed like a scummy guy based off what I've read about him.

to be fair he didn't have to say anything and could of just let this play out as it would have and if asked about it say "I didn't know let me look this up" and then dip. Its not like he was called out specifically like Kenyon did before.

Having an abortion contract drawn up is usually a good indicator that you're dealing with a quality human

you can love the game and not play for free. also those all-star nominations directly affect contracts so pushing someone out isn't just about bragging rights anymore. jimmy's screwing over people by not bowing out.
By s y Go To PostHaving an abortion contract drawn up is usually a good indicator that you're dealing with a quality humanmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan that shit is going to be WAY more common than anyone wants to admit.
And after hearing stories from some of the players, tbh, the women are treating it like a business (get pregnant) so he probably should too.
Again, it's far from classy.
you actually have to see reddick's abortion contract to get how much he OD'd on it. its not like general paul george level scumbaggery where you beg a girl to take a million dollars to have an abortion.

there's treating it like a business and there's what he was trying to do. if you ever get time read through that and you'll see clearly how far gone JJ is when it comes to people

Though, you're not wrong, he really should have done that. But a lot of this is happening to 21yo "men". They haven't thought that far ahead.

the situation was clearly more than the simplified 'abortion contract' that gets floated around. paying people off to not have kids is nothing new at all nor is it exclusive to sports. but that's not all that went into this - in regards to 'is jj reddick a piece of shit?'

If he knew his brother was harassing her, in particular, if he put his brother up to it, he's a piece of shit.
Iv'e read a few of the leaked email exchanges between jj and his lawyer, where jj really would have preferred she just take a few hundred thousand, instead of the fake relationship shit.
By giririsss Go To PostIf he beat her, he's a piece of shit.and when you go from that to demanding someone's medical records as well you've kinda gone from "just take the money" territory. shackling someone to you after something like that is textbook abuse breh

off the top of my head, i know Wall, PG, and Lillard have all been on the receiving end or at the very least extremely anxious about it

By reilo Go To PostReceiving end of what? Not getting into the ASG affecting their contract
Not sure about the others, but I know for Lillard that he got a supermax (AKA Designated Player Exception) based off of two All-NBA selections. I actually think they dropped the All-Star clause in favor of the All-NBA clause. The criteria, I believe is:
EDIT2: According to Wikipedia, there's only 3 players with the 5/30% contract: Paul George, Blake Griffin, and Derrick Rose. Wall and Lillard got 5/25% deals, because they weren't eligible for 5/30% until 2017-18.
He makes one of the three all-NBA teams or is named either defensive player of the year or most valuable player the previous season.EDIT: Also, I believe with the original rule, a player had to have been voted All-Star Starter twice.
He has made one of the three all-NBA teams or has been named defensive player of the year in two of the prior three seasons or the league’s most valuable player in one of the three prior seasons.
He has to be on the team that drafted him or has to have been traded on his rookie deal to another team.

the 30% rule is the Derrick Rose rule and for players coming off their rookie contract, the DVPE clause actually makes them eligible for 35% of the cap. YNB, Curry, Harden and Wall all got that.
