A) Sign & trade-bait
B) Possibly someone who lures another decent player to come there
C) A backup plan if everything else fails
Heck it's not even inconceivable they get back into the playoffs. I'm not betting on it, but it's really only the Clippers and the reeling Pelicans standing in their way.
But if nothing else, he helps them not give a high pick to Boston and salvage some pride.
