By DY_nasty Go To Postyeah, and some of the biggest 'faults' don't even become apparent to everyone until much later in their careers. at the same time, its a position where one or two things can change everything.yeah handle is something that is weirdly overlooked by a lot of folks. MCW sucks but his handle being weak as fuck is just as big of a problem as his broken ass jumper. You even see w/ dudes like Russell who has solid handle but not enough to really justify him handling the rock all the time. The ability to keep your handle alive and not having to pick up your dribble is a skill that makes you tough as fuck to guard because no one really wants to play defense for that long lol.
only constant i'll ever commit to is the fact that handles almost never substantially improve. being shook (not the same as passive) is right after that. a team or development crew can fix just about everything else. but you can't install aggression in someone - only beat it out of them.
Jrue has actually gotten better with his handle the last couple seasons. Doesn't lose it in traffic nearly as often as he used to. His passes off the dribble, especially when moving quickly, though...
Yeah, there's been too many guys who have improved their handle to believe that.
KD the most obvious, but plenty have. It's just not talked about.

By giririsss Go To PostYeah, there's been too many guys who have improved their handle to believe that.KD's handle was always fine. Only thing he did was tighten it up and learn real perimeter footwork. He also gets athletic freak benefits - because his first step is dumb long and fast as hell, he gets to cheat in ways that no PG in the league can.

But I'm really talking about point / combo guards specifically. Wings get the luxury of being set up in their favorite or most efficient spots for the majority of their careers. Even limiting the argument to moving from point A to point B - if point guard keeps getting stretched past where sets require them to be, it puts exponential stress on everyone else on the court and forces them into situations that they typically never encountered at any other level.
KD gets an entirely different scale. Even when he's running the offense and bringing it down the court himself, he can see over every double team thrown at him high lol. Typical ball handling limitations and considerations don't even apply to him. And he's actually good too so it's kinda whatever.
Lonzo is significantly better than Fox, I'm convinced if you think otherwise, you haven't watched either them play more than a couple times. Lonzo's defense alone allows him to actually help his team most nights.
Pelicans really trying to blow that 28 point lead but the Nets just dont want the lead
Late rotation by Mirotic lets Crabbe hit a wide open 3 to tie it, AD's gamewinner is about 5 feet short.

By s y Go To PostWTF this pelicans went to OT? I shut it off at halftime because the Pelicans were blowing them out. They got up by as much as 28 in the third. And then forgot how to offense and missed a ridiculous amount of free throws and let Brooklyn have a bunch of open 3pt shots.
By Kibner Go To PostThis would be the biggest lead followed by losing the game in franchise history.wait, 28 points is the biggest lead in franchise history? i don't believe that.

By s y Go To Postnvm ROndo fouled the shit outta Carrol. WTF refs? The refs have been letting so much contact in and around the paint go without a call all night long. That no-call didn't surprise me.

Yep. DeRozan couldn't dribble or shoot when he got to the league. Now he averages 5 assists and gets to the rim and draws fouls at will.
By Nelo Ice Go To PostIT with his first 3. Wonder how Luke is gonna scheme to cover him on D.Copy how Carlisle hides playing Yogi and Baretta at the same time.
By Kabro Go To PostPels this bad without Boogie now?The players appear mentally and emotionally crushed since Cousins went down. They are also having to rejigger their offensive and defensive identity on the fly in the wake of his absence.
By diehard Go To PostI've actually been impressed with Mirotic's perimeter defense.Yeah, he's been a bit better than I would have anticipated. He hasn't shown to be a weak link, at least, despite a couple boneheaded mistakes.
Kibner could have never expected the Lakers acquiring a MVP candidate caliber player. The bet should be called off imo.
