“I don’t really know what an all-star is anymore," Simmons told the Philadelphia Inquirer Friday.
The 21-year-old is averaging 16.6 points, 7.8 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game on the season, but he has been passed over by Andre Drummond, Goran Dragic, Kemba Walker and Paul George for spots on the All-Star team.
This isn't the Pro Bowl and players don't usually get four extra chances to be on an All-Star team in the NBA, but this year it happened and Simmons is disappointed he did not get a nod despite all of the replacements.
"It is what it is, but my stats don’t lie," he said.
Simmons averages more points per game than Drummond, more assists per time out than both Dragic and Walker, and more rebounds per matchup than George. He has a legitimate gripe and he's trying to figure out why he wouldn't get the nod.
He was thinking it may simply come down to how well a player's team is performing, but that idea has issues too.
"I mean if it was about win-lose, you picked Dragic obviously and you pick Kemba, whose team is seven wins under us," Simmons said.
Simmons may be vindicated at the end of the year as he still has a chance to be named to an All-NBA team and is the front-runner for the Rookie of the Year.
shots fired brrr brrr
Simmons being a salty little baby about this is actually pretty exciting. Many stars are petulant children afterall.

My 8-year old says Mitchell is his favorite Jazz player after one game. He also stopped some dancers for a pic. That one surprised me. Gonna need to keep an eye on that one.

Assuming Lakers strike out again in free agency, would they be allowed to use their cap space to just pay off Deng's contract in advance? It would be like absorbing their own bad contract instead of helping these peon teams out.

Glad my boy Deng is getting paid to chill in L.A after being experimented on in Chicago.
By Smoke Dogg Go To PostNext CBA definitely needs to allow it. Chris Paul's mission in life has been to sabotage Lakers. If only...

The Wolves lost by one point.
Good on the refs. What Thibs does during the games is absolutely verbal assault. Sometimes I can hear him as well as the broadcast crew. It's ridiculous.

By diehard Go To PostThe Jazz average 15.7 point victories in their wins… wtf?How is this surprising in the slightest when your team relies so much on getting hot from 3 for its wins?
The Thibs technical was ridiculous, but they lost because they don't guard anybody. We're a year and a half into the Thibs regime, and the Wolves' defense is still worse than when Smitch was the coach, which I think is equal parts his outdated coaching and his inability to properly evaluate talent, which results in bringing in players that actively don't fit his system like Jeff Teague.
despite zero shooting ability Simmons is still an overall plus offensive player and he definitely should've been an all star over dragic at least

That is an amazing and Classy way of putting it in regards to the cheerleaders...... I'm gonna take that like MJ does music
Capela / Nene / Wright / Black
Mbah a Moute / Anderson / Johnson
Ariza / Tucker
Harden / Gordon / Green
Paul
Team's looking more resilient than the start of the season. Hope Wright and Johnson can integrate well.
There should be no reason D'Antoni resorts to a 7-man rotation like he did in the playoffs last year.

The voting system is more to blame here. Its silly that theres only one vote thats ever taken and used as the refrence guide in case of injury.
If a brand new vote was taken after an all star pulls out of the game, no way Dragic gets in.
The Fultz situation is insane. I can't remember such a bizarre circumstance surrounding any #1 pick from any sport.
Why the hell do the Sixers still let people film Fultz shooting? Is there some league-mandated rule, or do they just hate him?
By livefromkyoto Go To PostWhy the hell do the Sixers still let people film Fultz shooting? Is there some league-mandated rule, or do they just hate him?Media are usually only allowed for the very end of practice. So Fultz is choosing to shoot knowing there's going to be cameras and reporters around.
Maybe with every missed shot and made basket Fultz is signaling in morse code to help him escape the Sixers
The Heat need to do the same with Justise. Rebuild everything about his game. Take him to Germany to get a hand enhancement surgery too.
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostFultz is faking it at this pointHe’s gonna make Steph look like Rondo when Sixers trade him

going with the theory that fultz is just a dumbass and can't be helped
