By livefromkyoto Go To PostI heard on the Zach Lowe pod that Charlotte is looking at losing $30 million this year with no shot at the playoffs. They're desperate to clear salary, that's why Kemba was put on the block. This is probably the same.
goddamn. is that creative accounting or legit tho. i never trust these sports teams when they say they're losing money.
By RobNBanks Go To PostSomeone check on FrankmanWhat's to check on? He's wanted a trade for a month. Knicks are trying to buyout/deal Noah/O'Quinn/Hernangomez and have kicked the tires on even Michael Beasley. Indications are no team wants Kanter since he's an possibly a FA/don't want to deal with the buy-in situation, which is odd because his next deal would be more anyway.
By Dark PhaZe Go To Posthearing whispers of monk being floated around?i saw the same rumor a while back in relation to a bucks trade involving brogdon (makes a lot of sense tbh)
dy how
but the in the same shit it said that the organization is split regarding monk. most likely a new coach/gm next year anyways so if anyone goes it won't be him
frank on the other hand could be the fuck up outta here

Anybody want a lightly used Shabazz Muhammad? Non smoking home. Shoots every time he touches the ball. Only gets garbage time run these days, so he's very fresh.

By rodeoclown Go To PostThe Pacers and Thunder have identical records.
The Thunder will go on another 10 game win streak and all will be happy again. Then they'll lose 5 straight and Westrbook is a bum. Hero ball will cause these swings.

And then it will turn into the PG13 circus. I'd love to see him on a team like NOP. But really, there are a few west teams (if he's determined to stay west) that he'd be really interesting on (POR), but many don't have the means to get him.
So... I see a headline on ESPN dot com that says "Lue: 'No doubt' Cavs going to make playoffs" and I'm like "that's bait, of course they're going to make the playoffs, they're still in 3rd."
So I take the bait anyway and I'm shocked to discover the Cavs are closer to 9th (5 games up on Detroit) than they are first (7.5 games back of Boston).
Maybe they should tank. LeBron will certainly see the wisdom of it.

Lebron is gone. There's no way he's sticking around. All that remains to be seen if he cares enough to put forth the effort to get back to the Finals again this year or if he just wants to save his body and pack it in. There are no moves to be made to make the team a contender, and the front office is just playing things out as if he's definitely leaving.
The NBA is stupid with its drama. The team won a championship two years ago and they're acting like it's just dire times for the franchise. You telling me that 20 (or more) other teams in the league wouldn't take this kind of uncertainty to have had a championship two years ago?

I don't see a way that LBJ stays either. The roster is just a dog pile of shit, and everyone is at each others throats. LBJ helped create that atmosphere, but Dan Gilbert has done very little to alleviate it.
Not sure where he goes though. Particularly if he wants big money (not that he really needs his NBA contract money anymore).

It is dire times in Cleveland. Once LeBron takes off that jersey for the last time, they're done. Never getting back.
Sure, 20 other teams will take the championship 2 years ago, because they also know they're never getting there, either.

the problem for lebron is that unless he's traded there's really no way he goes to a decent situation

Veteran's minimum.
Oh, you mean decent situation whilst also getting paid.
LeBron wants to own a team when he's done. No paycuts and he should never take one. Get the checks while they still come in.

And the Cavs have no reason to bottom out. They can be quite competitive still with a fully recovered IT, Love, Tristan, and the Nets pick, so acquiring trash contracts for a late 1st from a good team just to help Bron get where he wants to go is something Gilbert won't be signing off on. Cavs will want actual good assets to facilitate a LeBron sign and trade--which would neuter the team he's going to ala Melo and the Knicks. I just don't see any road for him to go to a winning team without basically taking an MLE contract.

the thing that's kind of scary is the warriors are basically the only team in the league where a lebron sign and trade actually works--checks the boxes off for the cavs (Klay + Iggy ) for aquiring a youngish all-star in a LeBron sign and trade.
The question is if the Warriors are willing to take on the risk given the current team is guaranteed to chip anyway and has no chemistry issues. Dynamic completely changes with LeBron.

Was going to say "even Orlando?" but then I thought about him throwing dimes to Gordon

LBJ on Philly is interesting, but i believe their cap is mostly actually gone unless they waive quite a few. JJ Redick, Amir Johnson, Trevor Booker.
None of them you'd keep over LBJ obviously, but all useful players you don't want to get sniped away while waiting on LBJ.
By giririsss Go To PostCompeting for the East.JJ is on a 1 year 23 million dollar... in fact all 3 of those guys are on 1 year contracts... they going to be 30+ million under the cap next year and they even get a decent pick to try to get a shooter... be a good lil team out there

By Kabro Go To Posthearing around the rumour mill. Randle to Dallas.I kinda like that move for Dallas... depends what they are giving up tho
Wait why can't Mitchell be in both? Didn't Dame do like all of them or something?
I don't think he has a shot to win, he's definitely a more in-game dunker. He said he's lost like 10 dunk contests to Derrick Jones.

besides that, there's no motivation to move Randle.
he's been playing well, Lakers can easily just let him walk this summer.
Me thinks it'll include Clarkson or Deng.

Yeah we ain't trading for a locker room cancer straight up. Might as well use him until end of year if that's the case.

Randle for Noel? Easy cap space for the Lakers

I think LBJ would consume most of that 30M cap space on a max offer.
Again, getting LBJ is worth it. Missing out on him isn't.
By pilonv1 Go To PostNow they have a Zeller AND a PlumleeWhat are they the Hornets?
Rashed Vaughn is a name I haven't heard in a while. I remember UNC recruited him. Unless it's a different guy.
