By livefromkyoto Go To PostClear frontrunner imo.Agreed. His unibrow is also somehow more appealing than Harden's beard.
For Kibners sake, I hope ADs body can take this output. Seems like everytime he'd go on these type of personal runs, a random breeze in the arena would result in him out for like 8 games.
By Smokey Go To PostI guess Harden will need a 70 point triple double.
Triple doubles are so last season bruh.
By Doomsayer Go To PostLast year: Triple doubles don't mean shit.
This year: Better get a higher scoring triple double.
A 60pt triple double has never been done in the history of basketball. But you knew that.
By reilo Go To PostI remember when Cory Brewer and Brandon Jennings scored 50pts.
I'm confused. So we're saying it wasn't a thing? But ADs performance is because...?
lol
By Smokey Go To PostA 60pt triple double has never been done in the history of basketball. But you knew that.I did know that. I just find it funny how much the narrative changed in such a short amount of time.
Nothing Harden does impresses me because it can't surpass the disgust at his style of play. He does everything the NBA was supposed to be eliminating from the game (flailing arms to simulate fouls, flopping, the rip through, jumping into defenders) and he gets rewarded for it. It's absolutely insane that the NBA caters to him after so clearly stating that this isn't what they wanted in the game. But whatever, right?

Hows the narrative changed? Because I mentioned something that literally never happened in history, and joking I guess he'd need to get another +10 to up AD?
ok lol

I'll entertain you on my lunch break
Were you a fan of Karl Malone, Jeff

By Smokey Go To PostI'll entertain you on my lunch breakPretty weak dodge. And they never put Malone on the free throw line or assessed fouls against other players for doing that, did they? Harden literally gets FT attempts by breaking league rules. He scores more points by blatantly thumbing his sour beard-obscured nose at the NBA's "point of emphasis" rules. So cool!

Karl Malone averaged 8.9FTA for his career and at consecutive seasons shooting over 11FTA.
Harden's career-high for a season in FTA is 10.9.

Ofc you'd think it was a weak dodge. Karl Malone is one of the dirtiest players to ever play the game. And see reilos post above. But I guess he was just a "hard nosed" Jazz player back then amirite.
Explain to me how Harden is breaking league rules? You're not allowed to hand check. When Harden goes up for a shot it's because somebody's hand is on him or directly in the path where it's easy to go up and get contact. When he drives and extends his arm, he's getting hit. He's not getting kissed by the air (most of the time).
You're problem should be with defenders. Pull your hands back when playing him, and force him right. Simple.
By reilo Go To PostKarl Malone averaged 8.9FTA for his career and at consecutive seasons shooting over 11FTA.One played power forward in the league's most physical time period and he was the most physically dominant player at his position. The other just jumps into or rips through his defender.

How convenient
I'm guessing Donovan Mitchell isn't a chucker either
By Smokey Go To PostDoes Mitchell jump sideways into his defender every play? Does he rip through anybody who dares put an arm up? Does he grab a defender's arm and then jump to simulate getting fouled? Nah, man. This is all Harden's BS. You've yet to refute any of it, because you know it's his game. This is how how he plays offense.

"People like James Harden" brings up hate instead. Dude is annoying.
This is fun basketball to watch, especially when he's doing it on the road. Fans love this kind of thing. It's so good for the sport.
By Method Go To Postharden deserves mvp this year. AD's time will come. harden shoulda won it last year IMOAhh, the logic that brought Kobe an MVP over CP3, and Nash an MVP over Kobe, and multiple people with MVPs over Shaq.
I mean, Harden actually does deserve MVP though. Especially if he secures the 1st seed.
He's putting up all time goat level stats

My point is when it comes to the Jazz everybody is the perfect player. I don't refute what you're saying about Harden because you yell in the mirror and lace it with hyperbole. He's been top 3 in MVP conversation 3 years running. His PEERS voted him as players MVP a few years ago, the very same people you claim he cheeses. So should I align with people who play with and against him every night, or a Jazz fan who can't have a non hyperbolic conversation about one of the best players.
Hardens not the first person to initiate contact , which makes the Malone thing funny.
Literally Professor Moriarty vs. literally a pedophile. I can't.
The pedophile thing is SO MUCH WORSE.

AD is great but one month of monster stats doesn’t make up for Harden being demonstrably the best player on a 65 win team
By domino Go To Postbask in the shame rockets fans
bask in it i say!
When Delly was on the team? Man how long ago was this lol. Only thing comparable this year was against the Lakers, and it's the Lakers so fuk em. What's funny is they've implemented Harden rules on continuation and such, and he's still averaging 32ppg.
By HasphatsAnts Go To PostAD is great but one month of monster stats doesn’t make up for Harden being demonstrably the best player on a 65 win teamOne great month? He's been playing extremely great basketball all year! This is a stupidly amazing month he's having. He's elevating his play at the right time and providing his team the wins it so desperately needs, aka the definition of an MVP.
You also understand that the rip throw foul should only ever be a side out of bounds. Players aren't meant to get FTA's for it. They changed that thanks to OKC trying to ham it.
The same way they changed it for the jump shooter jumping into other players, particularly sideways.

Wins? The Rockets have two separate win streaks of 10+ games this year, only team at the moment to do so. James Edward Harden Jr is reason 1 thats happened.
Harden is having an amazing season, but so is Anthony Davis. I just don't understand this casual dismissal of whether AD should even be in the conversation. It's the exact same shit people were saying last year when Westbrook was frontrunner.
Oh I'm not saying that. Even Oladipo should be in the conversation. Harden is just clearly the front runner.
I think Harden should be forced to actually play basketball if he wants to be MVP.
And he definitely has to shave.

AD nice but like... no shame in taking a spot on 1st team all-nba
I don't disagree on that, either. I just don't think it's "wild" that AD could take it with two months of basketball left.

I don't think anybody is disputing that he's in the conversation tho.
discussion =/= frontrunner
Last year it was Harden has more help than OKC which was straight up horse 💩. Just about everybody picked OKC ahead of Houston. Russ' triple doubles didn't contribute to overall team wins the way Harden did Houston. Worse recipient next to Drose.
