By Jeff-DSA Go To PostOk, we officially track too many "stats."I don't think it's a special list, just an interesting stat. Particularly in Denver where a lot of people struggle late in games to score.

Tbh I think the Maginka duo need to one-up Jerry West by trading Luke for SVG. Honestly we should give them a pick too but I think since SVG is also President he'll just be happy to facilitate the trade without the pick, and he doesn't have to be a president of basketball operations anymore
I think it was Phaze that was asking me about the Pels and the tax a short while ago? They are under $2M below both the luxury and hard cap, with some weird fluctuations due to those likely/unlikely bonuses I mentioned before:
Lonzo will become a much better player if he can just get to an average level of running the PnR as the ball-handler:
By Kibner Go To PostLonzo will become a much better player if he can just get to an average level of running the PnR as the ball-handler:
Why would you ever play a PnR honest for a guy who can't shoot?
Lonzo hasn't been good and has several critical issues, but PG points per possession numbers on the pick-and-roll are always bad because they frequently try to pass and their turnovers bring down their PPP while their assists don't bring up their PPP.
If Lonzo could make jumpshots and free throws and layups, his numbers would probably be perfectly fine in pick and roll. His issue is that he's a terrible shooter this year who is terrified of free throws because he's missing all of them and he can't jump.

My bad.

e: this is the link I think they pulled the data from: http://stats.nba.com/players/ball-handler/#!?sort=PPP&dir=-1&CF=Poss*G*100&Season=2017-18&SeasonType=Regular%20Season
e2: the top of the ranks in efficiency are dominated by PGs
Ahh, I was able to get someone with more insight into how those stats are gathered to explain a bit better:
By some dudeA question I always have about this is if if these are only the PPP for the ball handler on pick and roll plays he finishes (with a shot, layup, ect) or if its the PPP on the entire play where he is the PnR ballhandler regardless of who shoots the shot
By an insiderthe former. the other complication is that turnovers are recorded inconsistently. the stats provider separates pnr ballhandler plays from pnr passing plays, and when there is a turnover on a pass attempt, sometimes that finds its way into the denominator of the ballhandler plays (ie the numbers posted above) and sometimes into the passing plays (which i don't know if they're publicly available.). but it's a useful metric for seeing players' scoring ability off the dribble.
was playing at a gym in boston before he got the call from the rockets. now a guaranteed year of nba salary plus a multi year shoe deal
Butler’s procedure was neither a major repair nor a removal. Butler is hopeful of being able to return without some of the long-term risks involved with removing it.
Sooo....what did they do?

An NBA executive explained to me that the Yahoo Sports’ timeline suggests that the torn part of the meniscus will be “shaved” via arthroscopic surgery, which often leads to a faster recovery, but can lead to pain or complications down the line. The alternative was for Butler to undergo a full repair, which involves sewing the tear together like you might mend ripped jeans. That route would have produced fewer potential complications, but also would have sidelined him the rest of the season.

Spurs guard Patty Mills was subjected to racially insensitive taunts Sunday during San Antonio's road game in Cleveland.
Mills took to Twitter late Sunday night to respond to a fan who posted a video clip of the incident, saying that he hoped to "enlighten this confused, hateful fan."

This is where an agent says to a player "bruh."
Though now I seem to remember Butler is one of those players that didn't seem to find an agent useful.

He should have gone for the full repair. He didn't, at least, according to the timeline.
