Almas is fucking awesome and I'm glad they found a character that works for him. As long as they keep him with his manager, he should be a big deal on the main roster.
Just starting Takeover, the .gifs and videos people were posting last night were all insane. Clearly looking forward to Cole vs. Black and Almas vs. Gargano. I love that Candice got involved.
It’s rumble day and that means.. prepping myself for another year of Roman GOING OVER (the top rope hopefully).

-Vince, probably.
I will say, knowing that Lesnar's contract expires after Mania and he's probably leaving and dropping the belt to Roman on the way out is going to be such a slow motion bummer. I don't want to watch Roman win his however many-th Mania main event in a row.
That was a solid PPV, and probably best royal rumble in the last decade.
Which means Vince was asleep at the wheel finally.

I completely forgot the Rumble was tonight...
Will have to watch a replay tomorrow and miss RAW I guess.
EDIT: RHON-DA ROU-SEY.

The Rumble match was fantastic. The best booked one of those they've had in forever.
Also, pretty stoked for the Rey Mysterio return. I thought he had signed with Impact, so that was a really good surprise.

Brock and Braun Strowman are some of the stiffest workers in the WWE today; what makes it worse is Braun can't/doesn't sell. So Brock gets pissy at the slightest disrespect and will haul off on you if he feels like it, he used to give Cena some amazing shots.
Strowman still doesn't have all that much experience. He skipped NXT, was in the Wyatt Family, and didn't work a real singles match until summer 2016. He'll get better at stuff like selling. (I hope.)

Look at this shit; after the first clothesline no-sell Brock hauls off and tries to kill him (second "clothesline" hit Braun in the head). Cornette was right about him in that Brock legit doesn't seem to care if he hurts you at times.
I don't disagree. There are times when he throws dudes around in a German that is just savage and damn near drops them on their head.
I think for Lesnar, he really is a rise to the occasion sort of performer. The match he had against Styles at Survivor Series was the ticket: they put him in the ring with one of the best ever and he put on his best match in his entire comeback run. His match against Kane and Strowman last night was very blah and he working stiff again. As much as I don't want to crown the Big Dog for the third straight Mania, I expect Reigns and Lesnar to be a hell of a match.

Every wrestling fan needs to watch the latest 'Being The Elite'. A few wrestlers recording on iPhones display a better grasp of storytelling than the entire WWE creative team. The last few minutes are killer. It blurs the line between work, shoot and rumour.
Spoiler for the video.
That was a beautiful fake out at the end with Ibushi coming into frame and the Bucks answering the door instead.

Alright fellas, another dream match has come to fruition.
My body has been ready for that.
Also the NJPW event today/last night was pretty good. Hats off to Ospreay and Timebomb.

Those guys couldn't get insurance in the US.
Does the wwf network have more Jim Crockett stuff now days? Like are the late 80's NWA and WCW Saturday Night's or Worldwide on there? How about Thunder?

Went down a YouTube hole last night. Taya Valkyrie got thiiiiicc. My god. This isn't something I knew I'd want.
Also if this Ronda v Stephanie rumor turns out to be true that's pure banter.

I don't follow the shows at all and really only check out stuff that my buddy Larry mentions to me in Whatsapp, but how is John Morrison not in NXT? He seems to have the look and skill set they hire.
And speaking of NXT, that Takeover main event was very good too. That hammerlock DDT their Mexican champ used is a super solid finish.
By GQman2121 Go To PostMight do another trial and check it out then. The Coliseum stuff could be interesting.

Johnny Morrison left WWE. He actually won a Tough Enough, forget which season. He's in the Matt Sydal/Evan Bourne indy circuit.
so after watching consistently since about Christmas here's who I like currently
- Braun (the MVP rn)
- Elias (and I HATED him initially lmao)
- The Usos (the OD Samoan gimmick was shit but this regular Samoan dude thing they have is good. the crowd needs to get behind them. their mic stuff is good lately)
- AJ
- Carmella
- KO
- Sami
- Rollins (he was a wack heel but he should be an awesome face)
ummmm yeah that's it I think. been a fan of KO and Sami forever but I like what they're doing on the main roster.

I'd be more invested in Zayn and Owens if the setup hasn't obviously been the entire time to get them to fight at Mania. Whenever they don't have anything for either one of them to do, they just throw them into a match.
Miz has been the real MVP the last year and a half, though. I need that dude in a title feud with Roman after Mania. Or throw him back to Smackdown and have him fight AJ.

I just caught up on this week's shows and I don't think I want to see John Cena, part timer, anymore. He never leaves long enough to make me want to see him and his in ring work has been spotty for a year now. The match against Miz on Raw is totally just going through the motions.

same. i've always respected him for calling his shot but he's boring as hell in matches to me.
Womens Elimination Chamber was really good. Probably Alexa Bliss' best match. Sasha heel turn on Bayley finally
LeBraun kicking out of that super shield bomb and then 2 more finishers lmao
man they are really hellbent on Reigns haha

By RATHasReturned Go To PostSo Roman wins again, goes to Wrestlemania and wins, and Brock goes back to the UFC for awhile?Yup. Worst part is, it’s been at least 2 years knowing this outcome was going to happen.
Got the network last week and have been catching up with the Raw woman's division since Alexa Bliss debuted last summer. She's easily the best thing the entire company has going. It's not even close.
In fact, all of the Raw woman up to where I'm currently at (No Mercy 2017) are all very good. Jax, Banks and Bayley being the standouts.
Bayley is incredibly over in every arena in the world it seems too. She's not very dynamic, but is a very good worker who makes whomever she's with look good too.
Jax is fucking Vader and is awesome. Her dominance, mixed with her versatility and athleticism are perfect for who is has to face. Always looks too powerful but never weak in clean losses. They've nailed the balance with her booking. She's equally as impressive as Bliss imo.
Sasha Banks is probably the MVP for everything they do. It all seems to revolve around her in some way because she's so dependable in the ring. I was wondering why she remained in their Rumble for so long last month if she wasn't going to win it. But having gone back and watched her stuff now, she's amazing at what she does.
This Raw main event where Bliss recaptures the title over Banks was fucking brilliant. Even the build with Banks beating her by count outs and DQs for weeks and then clean at Summer Slam was all very smart. Bliss rebounds, comes right back eight days later to drop Banks on her head in the middle of the ring. She's held the title ever since. You don't need anymore proof than that to see they know she's money.
Bliss feels like Ric Flair. I'll need to go and watch the Smackdown ladies too now, but she's more Flair than Flair's own daughter to me.
And how does a 5' woman with less than five years of experience have the best working punch on Monday nights? She puts the men (who are all mostly fucking garbage or garbage by proxy) to shame.
I'm glad the woman typically only have one or two segments every week because I'm able to skip right to them and blow past all the Lesner, Cena, Roman, Ambrose, and tag team trash that fill out the other two hours from the men.

Or just don't watch Smackdown because it's been largely terrible for months and the main story every week is building a feud that literally can have no payoff.
The problem with Charlotte on SDL specifically right now is she's working babyface, when she's much more natural as a heel. This is also basically the problem with all of Smackdown, which got boned in the draft and is trying to fit people like Charlotte, Roode, Orton into face roles they can't play well. They even turned Zayn heel. Everything is all out of whack. There's nobody to cheer on the entire brand except AJ and Nakamura.

Okay, that's good to know. I hadn't looked at the roster really, but I'm only interested in the woman's division anyway.
I forgot Randy Orton existed. He and Cena are largely why I stopped following this shit a decade ago.

Orton was actually really interesting about this time a year ago when they were running his angle with the Wyatt Family. But they had Orton turn face on Bray only to drop the belt to Jinder (holy shit, that happened), and Orton settled back into apathy.
The SDL women's division is a complete waste. Charlotte has the belt, but has nobody to really feud with because they already ran Natalya/Charlotte, the Riot Squad is garbage, and since Carmella has Money in the Bank, they keep her away from the title. They have Becky Lynch and she has literally gone weeks and weeks without getting on TV. It's wild.
In general, the show is a mess. The main angle every week almost always involves Shane getting into a tiff with Bryan, but we all know they're never gonna clear him to wrestle again, so it's pointless. Everyone on the roster is basically miscast except Nakamura and AJ. The tag division is basically the New Day vs the Usos, even though they have other fun teams like Breezango and Gable and Benjamin.

Pretty good read about Cody Rhodes:

I still don't see how they're going to be able to fill those 10,000 seats but I'm sure hoping they do.
