Going to Nos Alive this year, first big music festival I am going in quite a few years.
Line up isn't closed yet but it's shaping up nicely.
Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish, The Strokes, Taylor Swift, Da Weasel (biggest Portuguese Hip Hop band of all time that ended in 2010 and are reuniting for a one time concert), Two Door Cinema Club, Faith No More, Cage The Elephant, Jorja Smith, The Lumineers, Khalid, Haim, Caribou, Alt-j and London Grammar are the big names so far.
I know Caribou isn't a big name but I saw him twice and loved it both times.
Seasick Steve is also playing and I didn't know anything about him before I stumbled into his concert last time I went to Alive and it was one of my highlights of that year.
There are other lesser known names announced that I only started listening to after I knew they were playing but I am really enjoying like Parov Stelar, Angel Olsen, Wolf Parade, Black Mambas and Parcels.

I love Caribou.

Wolf Parade is a great band, love the new album. Don't forget to check out their debut album!
By Linius Go To PostWolf Parade is a great band, love the new album. Don't forget to check out their debut album!I made a massive 1500 track playlist of pretty much the whole discography of every one announced on my phone so I can plan what to see when they release the schedule.
Nice. Really thinking about Arctangent too
Car Bomb, Frontierer, Rolo Tomassi, Swans, Leprous, Opeth.... Kind of cummy.

I was hoping to get to Awakenings (techno and such) festival in NL but the ticket sale system pissed me off. And I refuse to pay that much above the asking price.
Also the hotels are mad expensive for it.
I am going to Alcatraz festival here in Belgium (metal) and those tickets are already secured.
Now I'm contemplating doing Boom aswell but the ticketsystem is also a piece of shit again so low hopes.

I am strapped for cash this year, so I don't think I will be going to any festivals this summer. But I am really working hard to make this happen, because, holy shit, the line-up is stacked for such small festival:
Might go to Reading Festival on the Sunday to see RATM as that and Leeds might be the only dates they are playing in England. £86.50 just for the day though :(
Man those Reading/Leeds lineups are bad. It’s gets worse by the year.
Only know Girl Band from that lineup Faridmon. Guess I should check out some of those names. Any recommendations?

I saw Buzzard 3x last year at Live at Leeds and they were incredible.
Treeboy and Arc and Lady Bird are also great bands. The former is brand new band (only have 1 track afaik) but Lady Bird has an album out and its great.
More likely postponed according to some media outlets who claim to have sources. They say bands have been contacted for two weekends in October now.
SXSW already cancelled. And Ultra Music Festival as well. Really hoping corona won’t impact the European festival season too much considering I got a flight and hotel etc. for Primavera in Spain. Besides that Primavera also plays a key role in getting bands to Europe with their high fees. So if anything might happen to Primavera quite some bands will be cancelling their European leg most likely. Tough times for festival promoters and goers.

If glasto gets cancelled, Download is pretty much gone too. Arctangent likely, which would kill that festival as it's comparatively tiny :(
Yeah I'm expecting a lot more cancellations or postponing of festivals in the coming weeks. For now everyone is working from one date to the other and waiting for a miracle but at some point you just gotta call it off.
Annoys me a lot that Primavera still hasn't made a choice. Spain is in lockdown and their situation looks pretty bad compared to some other countries. The chances of Primavera going as planned seem next to nothing if you ask me. Especially for a festival with so many foreign visitors with flights and hotels booked I'd say it's crucial to have your communication on point in a time like this.

Well there we go. Guess it's safe to assume every other festival before this date in Europe is gonna get the same treatment. Besides that, Glasto is very important for other festivals because they're big enough to be the reason for bands to come down to Europe in the first place. Much like Primavera plays the same role for festivals in june. Primavera has all the six headliners playing at two different festivals in the Netherlands.
Yeah, Nos Alive will most likely be cancelled today. 75% of the lineup was also playing Glastonbury.
Hard to say if it's actually going to happen. But we kept our tickets and made hotel reservations for next year. And with today's latest additions it looks like the line-up is pretty much complete. As opposed to the 2020 edition they've added Gorillaz and Tame Impala as big names. Lost out on Lana though. I'm not a big fan of her but I was interested in her show in a festival setting, just not gonna pay 50 euros for her in a venue. Anyways, 2021 line-up looking pretty fucking great. Hopefully by june 2021 we're all good to have a party again. But I still feel like it's kind of optimistic.
Absolutely, very much looking forward to finally going to this festival. Granted we have plenty of great festivals in this country, but PS line-up is always something special.
i haven't been to many international festivals but primavera is always so well organized and there's loads of different people there because you usually have music from all genres. just something special about partying out to carly rae jepsen and then going to a doom metal show a few meters over and seeing the whole crowd change.
21 Pilots, The Killers, Mumford and RHCP headlining a huge festival in 2021. There's nothing mad or cool about that haha. But I guess it perfectly represents everything that Primavera wouldn't book on their bill. So in a way it's perfect for Spain.
Haven't heard of either, what genre are they?
And there are some more interesting names on there like Sports Team and The Comet is Coming. But those headliners man, it's like this festival poster just stepped out of timemachine.

there's still a lot in the undercards i like but yeah those headliners are terrible.

That actually looks like a fun lineup for me. Incredible.
Really hoping we can actually do festivals next year. Arctangent had a banging lineup this year :(
Covid says no.
But Covid also says 2022 even better lineup
The Armed, Mogwai, Massive Attack, Tame Impala, Otokobe Beaver, Napalm Death, Lingua Ignota, Beck, Nick Cave, Fontaines, Squarepusher, Dua Lipa (Albania Stronk), The Jesus and Mary Chain, Clairo, Viagra Boys, Run The Jewls... all stuff I kind of want to see, even if not a huge fan of it all.
