looking forward to it and new season so we can hope again (please Renault please)......... at least until March ;)
But was thinking of new thread, so thx Spengo ;) , for the official Sorotkin conformation,
Would have love to see Robert back, but everything coming out of the Abu Dhabi test showed Sorotkin in a better light (and lots of money helps)

Sirotkin's sponsorship definitely got him the seat.
I'm disappointed in Williams. They'll be missing race results and Kubica's talent at developing the car about midway thru the season.

Nostalgia is a real bitch, people keep talking about Robert as if nothing ever happened to him.
There was nothing that came out of the test that suggested Kubica still had what it takes. And compared to Sorotkin, not quick enough over short and long runs. Yes Sorotkin came with a Russian money bag, but Kubica also had big, al be it slightly smaller, backing.
Overall for Williams it was the best move, performance+dollars............ unless Sorotkin's performance was a one off, but than they still have Robert in the waiting room and I assume (after renault Palmer) Williams will have some performance based clauses in the Sorotkin contract.
Reserve driver is not so bad in the big picture I guess. I look at it as an audition for a full time drive, because every team will be watching RK throughout the year to watch his lap times. Unless that role is a simulator role.
I saw that silly cart video yesterday, imagine being paid millions to do silly stunts in carts like that

From Reddit:
FORCE is an acronym for Formula One Racing & Creative Engineering. I checked the UK Companies Office and this company has recently been registered, has the same address as Force India and the same Bob Fernley registered as a key figure. It's safe to say that FORCE Formula One Team will be their new name.Very generic.
What about "Force Your Team Mate Off The Track"? Does what it says on the tin.
In other news Aston allegedly got Cosworth onboard with their F1 engine program.

Shit thought launches were all next week :P
You know Ferrari did something good when the next year they all start copying them --> side-pots/wings. Guess they all will have something similar.
Haas less gray looks better than last year, still bit dull. And WIlliams bit more black from what was visible in that low quality video :really: , better and get the feeling this car is build a bit more with downforce in mind (last few years low drag, struggling on HD tracks)

Kind of like that one, typical RBR "non conform rules" livery. And an other Ferrari sidepot wings design

By domino Go To Postdamn that Verstappen livery looks dope. who's the favorite this year? lewis again?Impossible to say at this stage but Melbourne should be a good indicator.

THE RB14 IN DETAIL: UNDER THE SKIN OF RED BULL'S 2018 CAR
A lot of details on the side pods. A bit similar to Ferrari sidepods, with Force India frontend with nose & wings. More intakes than I have seen before on an F1 car.
Sauber livery is a bit boring. Reminds me of HRT or Super Aguri.
Hoping RBR have a new livery, full time.

By Punished Go To PostThat small rear was the stand-out for me to, floors look hideous on those F1 cars, but I know we need them for the ground effect downforce.
Looks really narrow
No doubt all those wings around the front/side are different when people take a closer look, but for now I would say similar idea as last years car (no big rule change so expected, but others all picked up on Ferrari sidepot design)
Most important thing not visible on a pic is their engine improvement, would not be shocked if that would be huge, bigger as other manufacturers.
Tiny bit shorter with a bit more rake than the W08. The air intake at the top is really different, wonder what they changed. Also side pods are flatter on top, not sloping down anymore.

McLaren MCL33
That orange colour looked good on Fernado's car (Indy 500), not sure about the blue fin and lack of sponsors on the car. Cannot see a huge changes to last years car, they did have to fit a different engine, so maybe more to come during the season.

This is the second most under developed car that I have seen so far based on the pictures with only Williams being less developed.
Like the McLaren, the Sauber looks amazing in the sun. Definitely my two favourite liveries of the launches.
First testday, so the last few team presentations

times for what it is worth
Vandoorne on hyper, max/botas medium, others soft
After 2 days of meaningless testing money is on a fight between these two with rbr closer than last year.

Digitally, Liberty are doing well. On track, the jury is still out.
It would be nice to know which countries it will be available in. I’m curious if you can’t watch the live stream whether you still have on-demand access to all the content. On the F1 official website the article also made mention of access to archive footage but gives little detail. I wait impatiently for more information.

I think Amazon is going to deliver EPL coverage as well. This is the world I want to live in.

only Fernando completed a lap today, better weather expected for tomorrow, teams will need it.
Without the halo, I might have been in love, what a car !!

I also like when a team has its own colours not changing depending on sponsors and their colours. Imagine a non red Ferrari.
McLaren suffered their fourth breakdown in two days.
I bought tickets for Spa-Francorchamps. If Max's car shits the bed I want my money back.
If they keep braking down I need to find my groundhogday.gif again, though I would not be needing that any more ;)
Bit more speed (faster laps) today, RBR looks like a better car compared to start last season, but Mercedes engine is more improved that Renault. Having a hard time figuring out what Ferrari is doing, maybe next two days give a bit more away.
Hope Franz told the team to do a low fuel run at the end of the day just to fuck with McLaren a bit more :P

Rosso end up above McLaren, poor Nando is going to blow up like a supernova sooner than later. This would be hilarious if not tragically funny.

Looks like RBR have made the biggest step of all the teams. Their decision to launch their car a few days earlier by their own standards seems to be working as well.
Renault just can’t get the reliability issues fixed and the teams that have Renault power should come together and share data info and fix or figure out the problem fast there is no more time to figure out reliability on the fly in a season for any team, even Honda. Ferrari seems to have gotten the long run pace together which is a good sign of reliability, but can they turn up the power without blowing up the turbo We are all waiting on Mercedes to turn up the wick to set the benchmark soon and with some teams already having problems in basically shake down mode, it’s not looking to good for them at the moment.
