By reilo Go To PostWhat kinda pleb shit is this why is the cable not behind the wall Smokey hand in your elite card
I’m in an apartment? What you mean why
Nowhere I’ve been let’s you run cables through the walls. Guess you could pay the charge when you move but naw
Straight on evening pic:
Only thing remaining that I’m gonna do is throw some paint over the old holes from the previous mount, and maybe the cable cover itself while I’m at it, but das it mane
I like the entertainment center. I got one from the magnolia center at BB in my bedroom tbat looks just like it.
I need to replace the C9 with a new LG and move the C9 to the bedroom … maybe next years bonus present to myself

Says it's one of the best TVs LGs ever made. Which is great as it's a bright LED with 4 HDMI 2.1, Dolby Vision (and DV @120hz for gaming), while still being 8k, unlike Samsung TVs which seem to be a go to for gaming on the LED side.
Couch we ordered in July arrived, and with that I finally hooked up my rear Sonos One SLs. The CX is about 9.7’ from the couch. Movies and entertainment feel complete again, everything looks and sounds great.
Watched some 4K live sports over the weekend via YoutubeTV 4K package…this really needs to be standard in 2021. Flipping back and forth between a game presented in 4K vs what was on Fox was a joke.

YouTube just gave me an ad for the LG OLED R and I knew it was out of my budget but I decided to check the price….
I’m confused as to why YT would even show me this.

Pretty much dead set on getting an ultra short throw projector as I rarely game but do have a G-sync monitor if I ever do need to. Would be amazing having a 100" or 120" screen for sports, tv and movies. Great for sunday footy events when entertaining the lads and for movie nights.

By Laboured Go To PostHopefully means PS5 support is not too far away.
Squid Game has really been highlighting the poor motion response on 24fps content for my C9. Queens Gambit did the same, there are just some bright panning shots that make it insane. Trying to decide if I shove on a tiny amount of de-judder

Trying to decide if I shove on a tiny amount of de-judderFor me it was Snowpiercer, I finally caved and never looked back. One or two tics, anything more than that and the soap effect starts to become immediately apparent. I only have it enabled on the Dolby Vision / Netflix preset, since that's where it manifests itself in the worst possible way.
I'm all for purity, but when the alternative is visual torture ...
i can't stand the oled stuttering so i had to put it up a bit too. otherwise i would just not watch anything on it ever.
while i don't like it a tiny amount of smoothing is still preferable to a headache.

By Punished Dean Go To PostI don’t even notice the stuttering tbh. I hate the soap opera effect tho, so i keep that shit off.
I don’t either
I notice the stuttering but I grin and bear it because fuck smoothing/motion fixing whatever its called
By rerixo Go To Postis the stuttering problem just inherent to oled or is it something that improves year on year? The core problem is inherent, but the solutions can get better with time.
OLED panels are sample and hold which, especially at very high brightnesses (like HDR), makes that stutter more apparent. Even more so when it's a lower framerate source. Netflix + most movies are shot at 24fps.
The C9 can use BFI to set half the frames to be pure black to solves this, but it dulls the screen a fair bit. The CX and C1 can insert fewer black frames to give a better result, but I don't know if it exactly solves it
By rerixo Go To Postis the stuttering problem just inherent to oled or is it something that improves year on year?it's the problem of the content. OLED have near instant response time and thus making it more obvious while other tech is slower and thus blurs a bit more inbetween frames.
By reilo Go To PostI notice the stuttering but I grin and bear it because fuck smoothing/motion fixing whatever its calledit's pick your poison for sure but i get legit headaches from the stuttering while i don't mind the smoothing as much since you can keep it on very low to emulate more of an lcd experience. at least it looks okay to me on the CX.

Billions has this beautiful drone shot of NYC interspersed but because it's not HDR/DV it actually doesn't stutter.
By DiPro Go To PostBFI reduces judder not stutter.Terminology seems mixed. Rtings calls judder inconsistent frame times, and stutter an artefact of low framerates. LG's anti-judder slider helps to fix low framerate motion. Nobody seems to have consistent terminology

I have a Vizio E55. for the past two years I've suffered with a small patch of dead pixels. I upgraded my sound with the Onkyo HT-S3910. After setup via e-arc my TV reset and apparently so did the previously dead/stuck pixels. Has anyone everyone experienced this? Being able to save and not have to worry about upgrading the tv for a little longer is a pleasant surprise.
Stuck pixels on LCD/LED are finicky af from what I remember reading about the issue a while back. playing static, flicking through solid colours rapidly, even prodding the screen a bit can all unstick them. Not totally surprised that resetting the tv worked.
By Laboured Go To PostYeah look forward to hearing your impressions DiPro.I fear it's outside my budget but i'd buy it in a second if it isn't.
Edit:
I saw the price... lol no.
