By RATHasReturned Go To Post77" is $3499.99 on Best Buy and $3498.25 on Amazon.good price, get it.
I literally just bought this tv yesterday for $2300. Random ass Wednesday in October and it goes on sale.
I know BestBuy will refund me but it’s still annoying

Maybe I should have asked here, I wasn’t following
Like I said I’m not worried. Same shit happened when I bought my x900e. A week later it went on sale and they refunded me the difference

Just got $300 back from the match of the lower price. Going to use that to upgrade from the 2 year BB warranty to the 5 year. Best Buys warranty covers burn in too. So in the event that I "happen to get it" in year 5, I can use the $3450 towards a new TV
I just got back $485 with no issue. First person only refunded me to the $1899.99 price but since I’m an Elite member, the advertised price is $1849.99. When I had to contact them again about the difference they apologized and gave me the difference and thanked me for being a valuable customer.
And Fender out here hating on BestBuy.
Not sure where else to ask but how should I calibrate the CX for games? I was playing 2k last night and it seemed really bright even when I turned down brightness and OLED light. It either looked too bright or if I went too low, it looked dull.

In HDR? If so you want to leave HDR Game Mode at its default settings . Dynamic Contrast On under the picture Settings might be on, which does brighten up the picture even more at the expense of accuracy.
I changed it to use HGIG and then ran the system HDR calibration in the PS4/Xbox. The picture is a little more dim than with Dynamic Contrast on, but it preserves detail a bit better.
If its standard game mode mayne check out rtings and ehat they used.
Obviously, entirely up to you, but I'd suggest keeping OLED light and contrast up at 100 in HDR modes
Done some reading, looked at the replies, warranty details and Best Buy appears to be the only way to get this TV with complete piece of mind. I'll get it with the 5 year extended warranty.
By aka Espi Go To PostIt was HDR. Maybe my eyes are just sensitive idk
Yeah, you wanna leave OLED light at 100, basically what the defaults are for HDR Game.
Go check out Gears 5 if you can. 2k isn't the best impression of HDR. I started it yesterday and it looks incredible. Might be the best HDR implementation I've seen in a game, and really shoes off OLEDs strengths.

Yep.
I'd maybe play with the colours a little, the Game defaults are a little blue to my eyes, but that's definitely personal
The Arc should be getting LPCM support next month, a little annoying its taken this long.
I imagine that's about it for added codecs, DTS sadly won't happen

Licensing costs and ubiquity, I'd imagine. Basically only really Blu-Ray that carries it these days, and most players can convert to PCM/Dolby.
That said, given the cost of the Arc, you'd imagine they could have plumped for the license, but there's probably something in them wanting to keep their lines consistent too

Always thought my Samsung tv was 40 inches, just realized it's 31.5 lol. If there was a stimulus I'd replace ngl.
Are there any TV/monitor black friday ads up yet?

If you don't need oled and want cheap but great for gaming, just get a TCL, tbh. Unless they have gotten worse in the past year.
By sy Go To Postthread more elite than the car one
I’m honestly shocked you care so little about the device that displays something you care a lot about.

A million times this.
it's kinda funny how sy always posts about how great a game looks while watching it on his smartphone or a 480p tv.
By Fenderputty Go To PostI’m honestly shocked you care so little about the device that displays something you care a lot about. What do I care a lot about? And why does having a normal budget indicate that I don't care?

300 isn't seriously going to get you anything worthwhile
this is probably as good as you're going to get for that price (400), and it's smallest size is 50"

I meannnnnnnnnnn.....sure coming off a 31'' TV. But according to rtings it's still a real avg tv https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/tcl/4-series-2019
i think this one i posted above, https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/tcl/5-series-s535-2020, is the 2020 model and is a lot better overall
you wont be getting a worthwhile hdr experience, but that's pretty much a given at this price. it does have very good input lag at 10.8ms
Been watching Fargo since I got my CX. Crazy how much better it looks on the CX versus the X900e, which was (is?) a good TV. If you guys had one movie to recommend watching on it, what would it be?
My only complaint so far is the stupid wii-mote pointer. Does LG still think it’s 2007? It seems to trigger randomly. I’ll be playing 2k and then all of a sudden the pointer just shows up on my screen despite my LG Wiimote being on the other side of the couch.

it's been around for about that long. was good, but now it's tired.

- Gaming
- budgets fine. I get that. You’re going to spend 2x to 3x your TV budget on a console, controller and game.
All that said ... you probably won’t notice much of a difference between that 200$ and 500$ TV

Neither is OLED, neither are great at HDR, both will be sharper and likely brighter and more colorful compared to your current rig.
And honestly, if you see yourself eventually getting an OLED, the cheaper option as a transition piece is the choice. If you see yourself owning the TV for 10 years, spend more and get the 500$ rig

I saw 65" CX drop to sub 2000 brexits - but my new apartment isnt ready yet and I would have nowhere to put the blasted thing.

I just wish the 50 inch was cheaper than the 55.

It might not be a perfect remote, but paired with WebOS ... it's easily the best smart TV experience out there, way better than I imagined it would be.
Still can't believe the integrated apps + Plex make me not miss my Shield TV.

Does anybody use the Apple TV app? I've got a Apple 4k TV and I'm thinking I can retire it? It's used primarily for YouTube TV and Netflix. Both of which I can do through the CX apps anyway. The main draw for the ATV was 4k HDR movies but...you can still have access to iTunes through the app iirc?
If that's the case I can free up that HDMI port. I could have the XSX and PS5 plugged in, my Arc, and my UHD player. Seems to be the move if the Apple TV app works like I'm thinking it does.
