you're not going to find anything in that range except for insignia/roku/hisense etc
you might be better off going with a 32'' gaming monitor tbh

Not really. The ones that are out there aren't for consumers, they're used as reference monitors for movies and other productions. Dell made a 32'' OLED monitor a few years ago, but that seemed to be a limited run.
You're starting to see them more and more in laptops, so maybe there will be a surge on the desktop side at some point.
thanks. no need to upgrade from my current set then until oled becomes more available. Hopefully that happens in the next two years.

how big is your room?
suggested distance to of a 48'' :
I don't see myself ever needing a tv as gigantic as a 48". My 32" is pretty good. I don't think I could play videogames standing 6 feet away from the screen, then again, that's probably due to the size lmao

Firmware update coming in a few weeks
By reilo Go To PostWill they sneak in something else that people hate?
Something else will get fucked when it hits. Firmware fukkery is the main thing I hate about the LGs.
Shit, I havent even updated mine even though there is a newer one out. I'm on 03.00.70. Still shook from my B6.
TV is a beast. I’m also on 03.00.70. Is there anything wrong with updating or are you just scard from previous experience? I’ve changed my hdmi input picture settings to my likings. Do I also have to do that for each app like Prime Video?

Do I also have to do that for each app like Prime Video?I don't know about every app, but yeah, the app and HDMI settings are different. Also, each HDMI can use a different setting, and a different setting in SDR/HDR/Vision so it can take a while to get everything right
No issues updating so far from me, but can't speak to the X
You might want to use the 'apply to all hdmi inputs' function when you're setting things up, go from there.
By Zabojnik Go To PostYou might want to use the 'apply to all hdmi inputs' function when you're setting things up, go from there.Doesn't apply HDR changes to SDR and vice versa. Gotta do those separately.

About the CX...
I've found myself using HGIG for DTM (Dynamic Tone Mapping) when playing HDR games:

When I first got the CX, DTM "On" was what I preferred since it does make the image a bit brighter in HDR Game Mode, especially over my old B6. However, doing some reading, it seems HGIG may deliver a more accurate picture. I've gone through the HDR settings walkthrough on both the Pro and One X with HGIG enabled.
I've been playing The Division 2 and noticed a difference between DTM on and HGIG. With DTM on, the picture was brighter, but I lost details in the sky. Couldn't really make out clouds with any detail. HGIG made it a little darker, but I got the detail back in the sky. Highlights like fire and individual lights seemed to show better in HGIG as well.
I've found myself using HGIG for DTM (Dynamic Tone Mapping) when playing HDR games:
Another development is HGiG Mode, which was actually added to 2019 LG OLED TVs via a firmware after launch. HGiG (HDR Gaming Interest Group) can be found as a setting option under 'Dynamic Tone Mapping'.
Enabling HGiG will ensure that tone-mapping adheres to the HGiG's specification for console games in HDR, meaning that tone-mapping will not be done twice (first on console and then on the TV).
HGiG is a way to make sure that you experience HDR console games from PlayStation and Xbox the way that the game creators had intended.

By DiPro Go To PostCX arrived but i can't handle it on my own loool. It's definitely a two person job to mount it on top of its stand. The panel weighs nothing but the stand weighs 200lbs 😂
By JesalR Go To PostDefinitely not worth trying by yourself. That screen seems so fragileIndeed. Me and my girl were very careful how we grabbed and lifted this TV. As thin as a mirror and very fragile. Had us both shook and glad when we were done having to touch it anymore.

at the bottom of the input pq settings i think. like if you select game mode and are presented with the pq options, i think it's at the very bottom .
Got around to watching UHD John Wick 3 on the set tonight.
Whew
What a presentation. Video quality and audio were fantastic.
The 77" already feels "normal" and adds so much more immersion without being overbearing.

Anyone here ever bought a TV on ebay?
I am seeing offers for a C9 - but its also US - and I dont want an incompatible outlet plug situation.
I would get a CX but I want a 65" and its just too dear.

Not me. No matter the lower price, after shipping and import taxes, it comes to about the same I'd pay in EU, so it's simply not worth it.
Plus it's probably a warranty nightmare, if and when something goes wrong.

11 years is long enough for my Panasonic Plasma. Come mid to late October or early November before the new consoles come out, I will get a 77" CX. The Sony A9G is impressive enough, but it doesn't have the newer HDMI 2.1 ports like their 8K's unfortunately.

By Nonja Go To PostAssuming you were using it for regular TV would the tuner even work in the UK?The PUA seems to be the North American and PLA EU? I might be wrong - but yeah, it would have been a slightly cheaper price clouding my judgement- not an uncommon phenomenon.
Turning on AMD FreeSync Premium is recommenced, right? I don’t see Dynamic Tone mapping option in picture settings. Is this only available if the video game supports it? Also, I’ve read the Xbox One X supports ALLM. Does anyone know if the Xbox one S supports ALLM?

The Sony comes out of black slightly better, and offers a bit more detail in it's HDR and doesn't get as bright, versus the LG which has more contrast.
"I have to call it for the LG, it's simply a more advanced television, with amazing picture quality"
"If you are a picture quality purist and don't care about anything else, buy the Sony with confidence"

He sounds so bored and glib.
By Freewheelin Go To PostDoes anyone else with LG OLEDs use DTM on or off for films?I have it off. I've run some (admittedly limited) tests with it on and off while viewing HDR10 content and concluded that I can do without this particular algorithm messing with the "purity" of my picture. It seems very hit and miss and kinda random. Sometimes it will brighten a scene that it seems to me could indeed use a bit more light and punch to it, other times it will darken a scene that seems perfectly lit without DTM.
It appears to be a rather divisive feature even amongst PQ purists, though not one worthy of having wars waged pro and against it, so just try switching it on and off and see what you like better. Or just limit yourself to only watching Dolby Vision HDR content, where it's not an option. :P

Decided to pick up a 50inch Samsung TU7000. I would have loved to have got a CX based on everyone here, but the 50inch one is just too pricey here(thank you Korea for your anti-competition laws) and they don’t seem to have the smaller one.
Just the entry Samsung but it has blown me away so far. Upgraded my Netflix account and started watching One Planet. Has made me want to sign up to Amazon Prime TV just for the uhd content.
Got me to try and finish ff7remake, looks amazing going from about 20 inch to 50. Glad I listened to whoever in here told me you can be closer to the screen with this uhd. Now I just want that PS5.
