One thing I'd say though, is that if you're used to poorly calibrated TVs, the isf and technicolor modes will look far too yellow at first. Apparently a lifetime of exposure to oversaturated blues mean that people struggle at first with more accurate colours. If you can stomach it for a while, try and persist. It really does look so much better

Yep. I did this when I got my B6, and it was definitely an adjustment, but worth it.

I’ve been setting my plasma to “tHX” for a decade lol. Always had truer colors and avoided vivid settings
The cable guy comes over to set up my cable and the dude tells me I’ve got my TV all messed up when he’s demo’ing the cable box. Starts setting my To vivid and playing around and I’m like “whoA whoa, pal” lol

the goat plasma.
i have a gt30.
the thx setting is really good.
i use it for games as well; don't really notice any lag. when i'm playing mp, i put it on game mode just to be sure (and i don't mind it looking awful then).
By bud Go To Postthe goat plasma. These plasmas are great. My G25 still doing its thing after all these years and THX settings do the trick. Again, thanks everyone for their advice.

I have the gt31. Occasionally I’ll pull out the active glasses and watch avatar or Prometheus or something. I thought resistance 3 story line in 3D was an amazing experience as well. My wife was never able to watch cause it gave her headaches tho
Looking like 4k120hz+Gsync with the 3000 series GPUs is not working. Between the raised blacks while using VRR on the C9/CX, LG needs to address this. Luckily I my current PG27UQ monitor that has let me play at 4k120+HDR+Gsync for going on two years now. I can keep my 2080ti or future 3000 series card here and be fine while they get this fixed. But some people have been using the OLEDs as monitor replacements, especially the CX48. Not having a major feature working on a HDMI 2.1 device along with the latest high end card is a problem. Part of being an early adopter, but they need to get a update out quickly. The C9/CX OLEDs are the only TVs advertised to work with Gsync, and it does work, just NOT at 4K120hz.
Forbes put an article out on it, so it's definitely gaining visibility:

The two main problems being reported appear to be as follows. First, users of both the LG OLED 9 and X series are reporting a complete loss of picture (a black screen) when attempting to apply Nvidia’s G-Sync variable refresh rate technology at 120Hz frame rates. This occurs regardless of which bit depth or resolution you choose.
The second issue seems to be restricted to X series models, and finds the TVs reducing signals output in RGB/120Hz/4:4:4 to 4:2:2 chroma subsampling. This happens irrespective of whether you have G-Sync active or not, or which output resolution you have selected. And it results in notable image degradation – as shown in the examples I was kindly allowed to reproduce here by Twitter user Sixi82.

yes
but yikes
It's pretty sad, I like the flexibility of using a tv as the computer monitor but its getting harder as I learn more about this stuff, I'm just going to get the 48 CX that Sy mentioned cause it will check all the boxes even though I feel ripped off that the 55 inch is just a hundred dollars more and the 48 barely goes on sale
the 48'' is cut from the same glass as the 77'' at the factory. That is why the price is what it is relative to the other sizes.
By Daz Go To PostHoping I can still get a 65" C9 by December/JanuaryI doubt you can get any off the usual big sites by that point (at least brand new), considering the CX is out. I just had a look on the site where I bought my 65” C9 and there’s none on there.

Never thought that I’d be picking a television as big as the one in Adam Jensen’s apartment but here I am.
By bud Go To Post"under 42 inches"
lmao
Unless your face is like two to three feet away, there’s no point in smaller TV’s at these higher resolutions.
