Lottery reform is going to happen this year probably going by Lowe and Chad Ford's twitter.
Fuck you, Adam Silver, I wanted a better chance at Karl Towns Jr. :(

Under the terms of the new proposal, the league's four worst teams will have an equal 12 percent chance of earning the top pick, with the next two teams following with only slightly worse odds. The league would draw ping pong balls for the top six spots instead of the top three, so the worst team is guaranteed to pick no worse than seventh. The odds for the other selections would be as follows.

I dont know i think that would actually help the Jazz.
I don't think we will be bottom 3.
As down as you are on them, they went 16-16 on the easier part of their schedule with Trey playing. Now we will have two "real" PG's!

Tanked so hard the league had to change rules.

I still like the wheel idea a bit if it's tweaked right, but the truth is all this new system does it stops the egegious tanking, I hope, which is all they need to do. Tanking is mostly a bad strategy, anyway.
With this new system, I can see teams 5-10 trying to vigorously tank to get into the Top 4. It has the potential to make things worse.

Mitch just saw the draft news.
Nick Young tore a ligament in his thumb, out 8 weeks. Ryan Kelly still out.
Pre Season tank begins.

Lakers somehow end up as worst team in the league (or atleast bottom 3)....
end up picking 7th...and thus their pick goes to the Suns.
Silver would be dead within the hour lol.

Probably won't be bottom 3, but I hope so.
PG: Lin/Nash/Jordan Clarkson/Ronnie Price
SG: Kobe/Wayne Ellington/Jabari Brown/Roscoe Smith
SF: Wes Johnson/Xavier Henry
PF: Boozer/Randle/Ed Davis/Jeremy Tyler
C: Robert Sacre
Dead:
Nick Young
Ryan Kelly
Our starting line up is bad but that bench is terribad. The constant line up changes to try and find a bench that works should cost LA lots of wins early in the season and then the solidified line up will probably be about as bad.
Probably bottom 5 or 6 in the league. Decent chance for a great pick :ugeek:

Lol Sacre is the Lakers only legit centre?
Edit: surely a Hill will start at centre?
Forgot about Hill. I really like him when he's healthy, but I doubt he'll be healthy all season with starting duty.

Fixed that for you.
I'm more hopeful this time around. We got a real coach now.
Real coach as in he couldn't win even if he tried.
I'm actually more hopeful now for a top 5 pick. I've figured we would end out around pick 7-10 like last year. I'm not as hopeful for an all out tank like some of you other laker dudes are. I've been preparing myself for a lost pick to the Suns for months now.

There's a good chance Phoenix gets the pick with how bad some of these other squads are, pushing LA to bottom 5-8 territory. I just wanna see Randle play fully healthy and conditioned for NBA play, if we can luck into a top 5 pick I wouldn't be mad at that either.
I actually like those reforms a lot. Personally I just want to see every lottery team have equal odds, kill tanking altogether, but this would at least help the bottom feeding teams a bit more. Last year was just too much with the tanking, fanbases raging when their teams won a game, beyond garbage rosters, etc. They have to stop that.
So the odds break down is gonna be something like (old lottery odds in parenthesis):
1 12% (25)
2 12% (19.9)
3 12% (15.6)
4 12% (11.9)
5 10.75% (8.8)
6 10.75% (6.3)
7 8.5% (4.3)
8 7% (2.8)
9 5.5% (1.7)
10 4% (1.1)
11 2.5% (.8)
12 1.5% (.7)
13 1% (.6)
14 .5% (.5)
This new system should be pretty helpful to LA the next couple seasons.

Tier 1: Tank so hard literally changed the rules:
76ers
Tier 2: Also losing intentionally
N/A: Emmanual Mudiay is a top 3 pick, no one other than Philly would tank for this.
Tier 3: Very bad
LAL
Jazz
Magic
Kings
Maybe Bucks (this is Larry Sanders' escape from Milwaukee year though)
Celtics
So, I guess the Jazz could be somewhere around fifth or sixth worst this year so I guess the new system could work out for them.

NBA San Antonio Spurs icon Tim Duncan (pictured) is immersed in a messy divorce that is getting slimier by the day. The much-loved and always low-key player, who is estranged from his soon-to-be-ex-wife, Amy (pictured), is now battling rumors that she may have outed him as bisexual during the divorce proceedings, according to the gossip blog Hollywood Street King (HSK).
SEE ALSO: Anthony Weiner Caught In Another Sexting Scandal
Reportedly, an unidentified source told the blog that Duncan had been involved in a gay relationship during his Wake Forest University days. The man Duncan was allegedly with also reportedly lived with Duncan and Amy for the first two years of their marriage. The source also claims that the baller even bought the man a home.
According to HSK, Duncan, who has built up a reputation as a humble, all-around nice guy, is looking to place a gag order on the Mother of his two children, who he was married to for 12 years, so that she will not be able to to utter one word about his alleged gay relationship.
The unnamed source allegedly spoke to HSK stating:
Amy treated Tim like a b—- throughout their marriage because she knew he was f—ing his BFF. Tim knows Amy was cheating on him but he’s willing to give her whatever she wants, because he doesn’t want Amy to tell the world that he’s bisexual.”
Amy, who filed for divorce on March 27 of this year, is claiming that her marriage to Duncan has become insupportable due to conflict and discord.
Meanwhile, neither Duncan or Amy have addressed the gay rumors thus far.

This is before-the-season old. Might even be a two-year old story. Virtually a copy-pasta from fan sites and message boards. Looking forward to new news if it ever comes.
How come we don't have a pre-season thread?
Pelicans put an asswhooping on the Heat today. Bosh was 3/13, 25M played. LOOOOL
Pelicans bench played about 80%+ of the game. Heat starters played 70%.

I said something similar when the NFL was in its preseason said that it "didn't count" despite players getting injured everywhere.
Maybe the NBA is different?

Lol Knicks fans trying to make something out of the preseasonConsidering how hard you been hyping the Heat the last few years and your MVP-like blind spot regarding their postseason last year... you have less credibility than the current Heat.
I've never shied away from admitting that the spurs kicked our ass in the finals. So have as much of a clue as the knicks(past and present) on defense.Lol Knicks fans trying to make something out of the preseasonConsidering how hard you been hyping the Heat the last few years and your MVP-like blind spot regarding their postseason last year… you have less credibility than the current Heat.
And why shouldn't i have been hyping my team that went 4 straight finals?
