yall ready for a Supercool Beas Lakers?
@AlexKennedyNBA
I'm told that Michael Beasley had a second workout with the Los Angeles Lakers today. We'll see if the Lakers sign him.
http://www.nba.com/2014/news/08/26/nba-new-baseline-rules-082614/index.html?rss=true&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitterThe NBA is expanding the area that must be clear behind the basket and cutting the number of photographers along the baseline in an effort to improve player safety.
The new regulations, calling for an extra foot of open space on both sides of the basket stanchion, were sent to teams Tuesday by league president of operations Rod Thorn in a memo that was obtained by The Associated Press.
The "escape lanes," the unoccupied area on either side of the stanchion to the closest photographer spot, will increase to 4 feet. Only 20 camera positions, 10 on each baseline, will remain, down from 40 during the 2010-11 regular season.
Man I am happy as fuck. Its about goddamn time man. That shit always annoyed me. Shame it took someone losing a season for this shit to pop up on the leagues radar though. But whatever, Ill take it.

Boozer, Lin, Beasley? Come on LA, you never go full Knickerbocker.

The stanchion and the photographers at the baseline are sorta related but the NBA's stanchion distance isn't an issue. I wouldn't say this was done solely because of Paul George's injury.
you know one thing i never understood
instead of paying Doc 10 million a year why don't teams just try to pry away successful GM's?
why get coaches that drive the ferrari well when you can get the guy who built the car

Because having a shitty driver in a ferrari is stupid?

They've already built the Ferrari, Doc's perfect because assuming Boston wasn't a fluke, he can coach a team of superstars at a high level for years and they'll stay tuned in and respect him the whole time.
There aren't 5 other people in the league who've shown an ability to do that and that's exactly what this team needs for the next 5 years.
That list reads:
Pop
Carlisle
Thibs
Spo
Doc
That's it.
Doc was gift wrapped hall of famers that were driven to win a ring regardless of his input. His entire coaching career before and after the aging of those core players has been astoundingly mediocre.
Hell, the best part of that Celtics team, it's defense, was a product of Thibs - and he's shown the capacity to recreate that defensive efficiency elsewhere over a period of time. Doc is better than Vinny. That ain't saying much at all.
But hell. why not give him larry brown authority

Larry Brown would have this team tuned out in 1.5 years. Ditto for Stan, Collins, and most of the other people considered as really good veteran coaches.
Thibs hasn't done better than Doc since he left when you factor in postseason success. They each have an ECF to their name as well as multiple first and second round exits. Assuming Doc doesn't mentally check out, this team will be tuned in to him and play hard for him every year he's there.
Riles and Phil aren't walking through that door.
just saying
if he didn't get hall of famers, he'd be another journeyman coach
Oh for sure.
But that's a silly statement. If he wouldn't have ever had a chance to coach great talent he would have never shown how pretty fucking good he is at coaching great talent.
That's essentially your point.

That's not true, he had a COTY in Orlando before he ever got to Boston. That 2000 Magic team had cleaned out everything to tank and was ultra-garb. They started four undrafted players but he got them to .500 and missed the playoffs by one game. Not sure what the guy has to do to prove he can coach.

It's bad when Vag shuts you down... just stop Dy...
And really Doc out coached Phil in both finals...
he sucked at coaching great talent though. outside of ray, kg, pierce, what's he got?
all he has to show for it is fundamentally broken point guard and a tombstone - and one of the most hilarious chokes of the playoffs last year. gj being better than vinny. here's the red carpet and 50 mil

you can't turn around and pretend that phil getting outcoached was some kind of anomaly thenhe sucked at coaching great talent though. outside of ray, kg, pierce, what's he got?

Larry Brown didn't even need the Larry Brown control package.
Dude hates his players at the drop of a hat and having that kind of FUCK YOU BITCHES attitude is why he often wanted to trade everyone at random.
Collins was like that too. Dude wanted to pay Kwame Brown the big bucks.

Phil bought into his own image later in his career, but on the Bulls he was on another coaching level + the best player ever...
and I can turn around and say that outcoaching Phil in the finals is an anomaly... He has only lost two finals.. 11/13
I don't really see how you can say otherwise. The only other coach to beat him in the finals was your hero Larry Brown..

Kobe Bryant said Deron Williams lost confidence in himself during the Eastern Conference semifinal loss to the Heat.
Kobe mentioned he'd never go 0-for-9 like Deron did in Game 2, and he'd go 0-of-30 before he'd do that.

Barbosa has also drawn interest from Miami, of course, but Warriors have won the race for Brazil's PG even before this FIBA World Cup starts

Golden State, I'm told, is closing in on a deal to sign Brazilian star guard Leandro Barbosa
we already won

So who is this random dude on the Lakers that the Bleacher Report thought it necessary to mention because he is with Iggy?
Is that his claim to fame? Is he the new Kris Humphries?

This is random but i really wish Neto was coming over this year, he has looked pretty dang good for Brazil.

There's only one game I can remember where it looked like he lost his confidence. He was 0-15. He was passing up completely open shots and not even looking to shoot for large chunks in the second quarter. It was crazy...
He then started hitting shots in the 4th and hit a contested game winning 3. So, there you go. 14% FG over 20 FGA
So Marburry is gonna star in a musical about his life in China…Fingers crossed Sebastian Telfair is involved.
Watching Dominique Wilkins drop 52 on the Knicks. Some of the shots he's throwing up in this game....most fitting nickname ever.

A "chucker" that averaged 30PPG on 47-48FG% in his prime for a shooting guard lol.

Raw FG% numbers in the 80's were super inflated because no one shot 3's and 3's are a percentage buster without using eFG or TS.
Which is remarkable that Isiah Thomas was so damn bad back then. He's as bad as Iverson and he shot a couple hundred fewer percentage busters (3's) a year.
Just saw a segment about Rose on ESPN...The only thing more atrociously bad than True Hoop TV bits are True Hoop TV bits featuring Henry Abbott. How the hell does that clown still have a job?

One of my favorite players but Melo stats are very like his, and Melo is considered a chucker..
Oddly enough Melo almost has as many ast as him already.. lol

I'm praying for a training sequence as an extended musical number with Larry Brown as the Pai Mei-like harsh Sifu.
sounded like self-deprecating humor to me. Y'all can be silly. It is, and so was my Emo Parsons, but it looks like Rockets fans catch all the feels at the end of the day
