I think it'd be foolish to trade the pick (unless you're in the bottom half of the lottery)
If you look at the list of NBA champions there's really only one in like the entire history of the league that one without a homegrown star as a major component, 2004 pistons. There's been plenty where players arrived via trade and free agency but those teams had one elite player in place or they got one of the league's absolute best
Maybe I'm just bullshitting but I think they need to start a new era and not go after guys like Love

One doesn't preclude the other. Homegrown talent wins because homegrown talent is the type that's so good the franchise would do anything to keep them. Guys like Jordan/Magic/Bird/Zeke were never on the market to begin with. Wilt, Kareem, Dr. J, and of course, LeBron, were championship centerpieces who came from elsewhere. Plus, there had been plenty of contenders who got really close and they were built around marquee free agents as well. 90s Suns, 00s Kings, 00s Nets, etc.
Corbin let go, awesome. Let's see names listed as candidates...
Nothing is certain in life but pain and despair.
One likely candidate for Jazz coaching job, sources tell Yahoo: Spurs assistant Jim Boylen. He has a strong history with GM Dennis Lindsey.

so woodson, adelman and corbin are gone?
i expect mike d'antoni to be on that list real soon, you hear me mitch?!

Local reporters are reporting Boylen as well are you fucking kidding me.I'd never heard of him.
Fired as Utes coach a couple of years ago after leading them to multiple under .500 seasons.
Fired as Utes coach a couple of years ago after leading them to multiple under .500 seasons. So a 5 year deal for him then?
You're right, but if Kevin Love was that kind of elite then the Wolves wouldn't be trash, therefore he wouldn't be yearning to leave townI think it'd be foolish to trade the pick (unless you're in the bottom half of the lottery)

I mean he's great but most definitely not on the level of the other guys you listed
And to be fair the Wolves aren't trash, they're stuck in the West, but you get my point

I'm still not sure Love is "build around as the main option" good. But you can certainly add pieces around him and be on the verge of contending.

There are like, 5 guys in the league who can just blow up your defensive scheme for 7 games. Love is definitely somebody you'd want.

He's not on that level yet. He's not Dirk, yet.
You could certainly do a lot worse than keep adding pieces.
Love is a terrific player, he's just not a leader. So if he has a problem, that's it. Rubio is probably the team's strongest leader, but he was getting undercut by Adelman's rotations and clowns like JJ Barea.

Sometimes it takes a few years for great players to develop that type of #1 man skill. Jury is out on Love in that regard.

I'd be worried about Kerr if I were a Knick fan. The guy did an abysmal job in Phoenix and its coming off like Phil just wants to get paid and bring his circle of friends into the job with him.
Is he one of them?
He's not on that level yet. He's not Dirk, yet.

LeBron, Durant, Dirk, Curry, _______
I think Love is in that group.

Curry isn't really either.
LBJ, Durant, Dirk, TD/TP, CP3, M.gasol (on both ends).
A source told Yahoo Sports that the Timberwolves are interested in Iowa State coach Fred Hoiberg, Michigan State coach Tom Izzo, former Orlando Magic and Miami Heat coach Stan Van Gundy, and former Grizzlies head coach Lionel Hollins to fill their coaching vacancy.
Didn't Grizzlies fans hate Hollins?
Players loved him tho. So there you go.
No they didn't they all hated him. Every single one of them. Fans were divided actually. Most lifelongs hate him but a lot the new band-wagoners that jumped on the last 3 years were pissed he was fired (I guess cause they didn't know anything else).
Nup.
Curry isn't really either.
LBJ, Durant, Dirk, TD/TP, CP3, M.gasol (on both ends).
I think Curry's there. Even though he's having a bad game right now.
Guys like Parker and Paul are supremely efficient players, but there's a pretty good strategy to defending these guys and they work more often than not if you've got the right personnel to do it. Game plan for Dirk, Durant, and Curry is basically "pray"

You're entitled to a good gloat and haven't exercised that right.

That's not exactly true... there was another PF in Minny who was great and didn't like losing..
Hopefully he won't be gifted to another franchise...You're right, but if Kevin Love was that kind of elite then the Wolves wouldn't be trash, therefore he wouldn't be yearning to leave town

When Shaw inevitably gets fired he'll be added to the staff. Probably Rambis.
I have no problems with Shaw, dude is criminally shat upon as a coach.

I feel bad for Rick Adelman. Having to go through Jordan, then Horry and the refs, then Yao and his foot. Terrible luck time after time.
I feel bad for Rick Adelman. Having to go through Jordan, then Horry and the refs, then Yao and his foot. Terrible luck time after time. But he also collected $15m of Glen Taylor's money the last three years and had been checked out for two of them.
I'm glad that people like Simmons started noticing what a bad job he had been doing. He shouldn't have come back if his personal stuff was that pressing.
Yeah, really, he should have told the FO he wasn't coming back. And let them hire the new coach, and then transition them in while he finished out this year. Or something smoother like that.I feel bad for Rick Adelman. Having to go through Jordan, then Horry and the refs, then Yao and his foot. I can't hate on the guy for wanting to spend time with his sick wife. Fair enough.
I can call him out for continuing to collect a big pay cheque whilst largely being vacant though.
It sucks, cause the first lot of work he did when he got there sent positive signs of really good change.
This may sound weird, but I think Curry is still somehow one of the most underrated guys in the league. GS isn't any better than Denver without Curry.Nup.

Bogut, Lee, iggoudala, Klay is a competitive starting 4 no matter how you angle it.
Mozgov, Faried, Chandler, *, Ty .. naw that's not always competitive.
annnnnd I'm deadWhy did I never think of that? It's absolutely perfect.

Yeah it is.
Bogut, Lee, iggoudala, Klay is a competitive starting 4 no matter how you angle it.

I mean their best non-Curry line-up is Barnes/Iggy/Klay/Bogut/Lee at +3.3 ppp in under 80 minutes for the season, which makes them slightly better than the Timberwolves. Since that line up doesn't actually have a point guard, I'd hazard a guess that extended minutes puts them right around....the Denver Nuggets. Say we swap Harnes for a replacement level point guard like Darren Collison or Jrue Holiday and you're really not going anywhere either.
Bogut, Lee, iggoudala, Klay is a competitive starting 4 no matter how you angle it.disagree. That's a group of inconsistent and non existent guys on offense. Curry absolutely carries that team. The Denver comparison is about right.
Mozgov, Faried, Chandler, *, Ty .. naw that's not always competitive.
When the Warriors move to their new stadium, will they become the San Fransisco Warriors or do they stay Golden State?
