If im a Wolves fan i purely look at this as just getting the previous two #1 picks in return for a guy that was leaving anyway.

By last season, his game, and those numbers, were completely different — only 36.9 percent of his shots came inside of 8 feet, and more than a third of his attempts occurred beyond the 3-point line.

As a 4, Love’s growing obsession with 3-point shooting is the most noteworthy aspect of his shooting behavior. Regardless of position, he is one of the league’s most active perimeter shooters. Only four players — Curry, Damian Lillard, Durant, and Love — took more than 450 shots “above the break” during the 2013-14 regular season.. Love’s favorite shot has become the left wing 3. During his rookie year, he took four shots from that area. Last season, he attempted 229 shots from the same zone, by far the most in the NBA. For context, J.R. Smith was second with 189 attempts. J.R. Smith: not a power forward, by the way.

The fact that Love is one of the best rebounders in the game only compounds this issue. He’s not just “technically a power forward” like Channing Frye. This guy is way more Barkley than Bargnani. He’s a true interior force, and every time he shoots one of those 3s, one of the league’s top rebounders becomes a rebounding spectator.

KG is going to retire before they get back to the playoffs and you want them to commit to another 3-4 years of losing? There's a line where you cross into super pathetic territory, and rebuilding your rebuild for the 3rd time in a row is exactly that line.

There's a point where you have to realize that being a so-called treadmill team actually represents a legitimate accomplishment, that it rescues you from being a truly trash franchise that everybody wants to leave.

It sucks for them that the West is so stacked right now, but what they need more than anything is to get pieces that compliment Wiggins and fucking go for it, even if "it" is a first round knockout. Get back on the map and raise the value of the stuff you already have.

The Wolves have a really hard time getting good players and they already have a couple under contract with Rubio, Pekovic and Dieng. Do not let them go. This third rebuild attempt needs to be adding to Rubio, Pekovic and whatever Wiggins and LaVine become.

Everyone made fun of Bosh's defense until he joined the Heat. Toronto had one of the worst defenses all-time while he was there. Love's a better defensive rebounder, which is part of defense.

Love gives no rim protection, but his defensive numbers aren't terrible, either.

After 2007, everyone told San Antonio to just blow it up and start from scratch. Then they said the same thing in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011…

Is there really any one correct way? Portland was a "middling" mid-30 win team, then they drafted Damian and won 54 games two seasons later. The "moneyball" move was to blow it all up and tank for draft picks.

And the fucking Cavaliers. The fucking Cavaliers. They've been terrible since Lebron left, they even tried to win last year with all of the moves they made, still sucked complete ass, lucked into another #1 pick, and now they're most likely gonna win the East despite their last two #1 picks being traded.

Who the fuck knows.

I saw this with the Raps, everyone wants off the sinking ship when you're "building" and the franchise sucks, nobody wants to be in that city, etc. Now they have positive momentum and everyone's happy and Lowry's signing in Toronto instead of LA/Houston/Miami. I used to be one of those people who thought you had to stay in the draft until you get a top 10 player and another legit all star to help him, but now I think just maintaining a winning rep and adding guys when the opportunity presents is a better situation overall, even if you're not a contender. OKC isn't a "model," it's just a thing that happened.

There's more than one path to success, but if everyone on that Sixers roster stays healthy they're pretty much going to be OKC East. And maybe even scarier than that.
