Exum second overall?
srs?
pls
lol, that's a quick change in opinion.
I've seen enough of his games to think that he has the physical tools (and can use those tools) to be a star scorer. He could be Harden or YNB level. Way more coordinated than Wiggins, quicker and more explosive than Parker.
no the write up is great and probably should be stickied--it's just that it's not like you to fall for a kid who's played what amounts to almost no competition, especially since the guy who virtually matches Exums experience/hype is...Enes Kanter, and we see how that tale is going thus far.
I'm not saying he's a great prospect, but I can't say I'd put him over Smart. He's a rich mans Shaun Livingston from what I've seen.
Mitch says he's open to trading the pick lol
lakersage are you okay
There's a reason I asked if anyone else though they would do this. I didn't even know Mitch made the comment. Lakers ain't about building around unknowns. I've though this was a legit possibility all season.
Only way they trade the pick is if they miss the big three of Exum, Wiggins, Jabari + Exum.
I'd just draft Smart and call it a day.
Jazz won the coin-toss
yesssssss
Suck it, Bill Simmons.
Joke's on the Jazz. They still lost 15 balls to the Celtics for that last win.
haha we could have all the balls, they would just get thrown out if ours came up.Jazz won the coin-toss

motherfuckers dont deserve no draft picks.
The NBA 2014-15 salary cap is now projected to be $63.2 million and the tax level is projected to be $77.0 million. The numbers for 2015-16 are now projected to be $66.5 million and $81.0 million, respectively.
that 2015-2016 number is massive
RT @WindhorstESPN: .@LarryCoon projecting unexpected jump of $5M in salary cap for next year. If that holds, it's a game changer for Melo & his CHI/HOU options
Mitch says he's open to trading the pick lol

Can we even trade the pick? We traded last years and next years I think that's against league rules. I guess they could trade the rights to whoever they take but that makes things more complicated (at least I hope).
Everything I've read makes it seem like Mitch and Co. are really high on Exum and Wiggins. I've heard some of Vonleh too. I guess if those guys are gone I could see them maybe trying to get Kevin Love a year early with the pick but I would rather they just wait and ride it out til he hits FA. I've said it before I like something about Gordon if we end up picking 6th or so. Even if he turns into a Shawn Marion or prime Gerald Wallace type I think that's a solid pick up. Someone like Smart is too boom or bust for me.
Yes they could always trade immediately after the draft or just get a lower pick of '14 or '15 in return as part of the trade.
All trade rumors are meaningless at this point anyway. Nothing happens until May 20th.

All Chicago has to do is dump Taj and they can pay Melo near the max. :)The NBA 2014-15 salary cap is now projected to be $63.2 million and the tax level is projected to be $77.0 million. The numbers for 2015-16 are now projected to be $66.5 million and $81.0 million, respectively.

Edit:Ninja the can't trade the pick but they can trade the player right after they draft him I think.

They can "trade" the pick in the sense that they can pick for another team

Ehh, Exum has one more year against Fiba competition than Kanter did. Exum played up to the u19s whereas Kanter stopped at the u18s. The u19s aren't terrible competition and he looked great. He's played less than anyone would like and has a lot of risk because of that though, sure.
Julius Randle? lol
you're getting Aaron Gordon and Hood and you're gonna like it
Rodney Hood is not in the top 20 lol
It'll probably be Randle and McDermott or something.

Kevin Love on Jimmer Fredette: "He could become like Stephen Curry. I think he has a great chance to be a star in this league."
Horrible judge of talent in addition to lazy defender and selfish stat padder
Jim Buss ain't fucking around
Knick fans wish Dolan kept it half as real. Giving himself 3-4 years before turning over the keys....who will be available by around then?
if we're not back on the top — and the definition of top means contending for the Western Conference, contending for a championship — then I will step down because that means I have failed… I'd walk away and you guys figure out who's going to run basketball operations because I obviously couldn't do the job.

Kobe as President of Basketball Operations sounds like a bad idea...but whatever I'd give hima shot.
Hiring someone with zero executive experience to run a basketball franchise just because they won basketball games in the past seems like a really dumb idea...

...anyway I was trying to point out that Phil's contract with New York would be up by the end of Jim's deadline. I don't think that is a total coincidence.

I have no idea how much basketball knowledge she has or if she would be interested in taking on the role at all. She runs the business side already, I don't know if she would want to do both. Phil would be the obvious choice, NBA/Laker Legend who has ties with the family and is highly respected league wide.
I'd also be cool with Mitch taking the spot if he was up for it.

Nothing is worst than a man with lots of cap space with everything to lose

That has been the hiring blueprint of teams for years...
You don't ever need to win games... Pistons were trying to hire Hill already

Well they'll give Kobe 24 million a year and Melo either goes to the Bulls or stays in NY, Lakers might as well start looking for a replacement now.
The purge begins.
Entire Knicks coaching staff has been fired. Peace out, Woodson. Thanks for one good year. LOL

A source told Yahoo Sports that the Timberwolves are interested in Iowa State coach Fred Hoiberg, Michigan State coach Tom Izzo, former Orlando Magic and Miami Heat coach Stan Van Gundy, and former Grizzlies head coach Lionel Hollins to fill their coaching vacancy.
Didn't Grizzlies fans hate Hollins?

That's very true. Makes sense why there are rumors of him wanting to trade the pick and not really all that interested in re-building.
