Unfortunately as we've learned when James Dolan is the owner, starting over doesn't exist. Even I feel bad for their fans now.I don't know how I'm gonna deal if Fisher becomes our coach. He's one of my least favorite athletes of all time.
Pretty much, but if it helps the tank I'm all for it. Last thing we need is the Knicks thinking they're a decent team again. They're collective backwash and it's just better to start over.

Wonder why? Sucks though cause they had done a good job although you could say they botched the Gay trade.

Gay's value wasn't that high when he got traded - the perception seemed to be that the Grizz were better without him, he was a shot hog and his contract still had 12 years and $80 trillion owing. I think they did alright. I don't know what kind of expectations ownership had for the team, they had a super tough playoff draw and performed admirably.
Geoff Calkins @geoff_calkinsThis is making me nervous. wtf is going on.
Its official. Levien and Lash and out.
The MEM rumour is the oddest iv'e seen.
There's not a whole lot a FO can do when you're paying 40M between Randolph, Gasol, Conley. And then you have Prince/Allen/Lee making another collective 18M or so.
And you refuse to go into tax territory.

"Our franchise has made tremendous strides over the last few seasons and we thank Jason for his hard work and dedication and wish him nothing but success in his future endeavors," Grizzlies controlling owner Robert Pera said in a news release. "Rest assured that we remain as committed as ever to bringing a championship to this great city and we are confident that when the new season begins our fans will be excited about both our roster and the direction of our organization."

I've accepted that most likely I have to wait for him to die. Bright side is once Phil is gone we'll go back to setting up protests again. Def scared him enough to pretend to care last time.

Odd.
Well, you have to remember that the CEO was most likely all business operations side and nary to do with basketball operations. Those two sides tend to be pretty isolated from each other. Portland went through a similar thing 18 months ago when they hired on Chris McGowan. It really didn't influence anything that Olshey was doing, besides more money being funneled into the practice facility from naming rights revenue.
Bill Simmons @BillSimmonsLies.
Hearing that, if the Grizz totally clean house, the Memphis owner will look to trade for Tom Thibodeau + give him an SVG/Pistons-type deal.
Edit:
Geoff Calkins @geoff_calkins
Just got off the phone with Chris Wallace. Quick report coming soon, but Dave Joerger is and will remain the coach.
Glen Taylor says that the Wolves aren't trading Kevin Love and that neither Love nor his agent have told Flip anything.
I'm glad that's settled...

Don't really know how I feel about this stuff. Kinda dumb to make these kind of decisions the season before Marc is a FA.
Pera has become increasingly involved in the day-to-day operations, and his hands-on approach reached an unorthodox point following the Grizzlies season in which they recovered from the injury to center Marc Gasol to win 50 games for the third time in franchise history (they were 50-32) before losing in a seven-game first-round series to the No. 2 seed Oklahoma City Thunder. According to a second person with knowledge of the situation, Pera even conducted end-of-season player meetings at a hotel and independent of the front-office and coaching staff after the season. Typically, players meet with a team's general manager and head coach.
o_O
Damnit the best thing about Pera was that he didn't do anything.
Edit: reading the article it makes it seem like he was trying to get honest opinions from the players about the coach. Seems like all this is linked to the coaching change from last year.

just realized Detroits in the lucky "jump into the top 3 spot" for the lottery at #8.

Yup all over. Love in LA next offfseason and KD to follow. Thanks for breaking the story.
I'm scared about the Grizz situation. Someone get a hold of Ja Rule so I can make some sense out of all this.
Just so I'm clear. I don't really want KLove in LA (unless he just walks off the Twolves roster and we can keep our pick this year). I wouldn't mind him on The Lakers, but our roster isn't in a position to just add 1 star and be a playoff team.
I'll mostly bring up KLove to LA to mess with Rodeo and fans of teams who would actually benefit from having KLove.
With that being said, KLove can't wait to comeback to LA.

As long as they don't knock us out into Randle Land.
Tommorow is going to suck hard

He's never taken us the the playoffs (not his fault, mind you. He had to deal with Wittman, Rambis, Kahn), and KG meant everything. Trading Love isn't going to mean the total devastation of the franchise like when Garnett was moved. We'll still have Rubio and Pekovic and some things to work with.

It would actually be pretty amusing if Love became a Celtic. They would have arguably gotten both of the best players in the Wolves history back to back. Whats the odds of that?
Rubio hasn't been really developing much though.Just so I'm clear. I don't really want KLove in LA (unless he just walks off the Twolves roster and we can keep our pick this year). Rubio hasn't been really developing much though. He's still a good player. He can't shoot (but his jumper isn't as terrible as you think, it's around the basket where he really has trouble), but he does so many things well. Dudes here act like he's straight garbage or something.
He runs the offense as well as any point in the league and plays defense. He has plenty of redeeming qualities but to be in the NBA and not being able to make layups(contested or otherwise) on a consistent basis is just a really bad mark.Rubio hasn't been really developing much though. He's still a good player. Well Fisher does have leadership qualities and he managed to get rid of Billy Hunter so there's that.

At worst LA is projected to pick Aaron Gordon or Julius Randle at 6 or 7. If we get in the top 3 we need to get higher than ORL cause they supposedly like Exum as well, but ending up with Jabari, WIggins or Embiid isn't too bad.

Having a top 10 pick in this draft is arguably better than having a top 3 pick last draft.
The only decent players to come out of the 2013 draft thus far:
Oladipo
MCW
Steven Adams
Antetokounmpo
Dieng
Mason Plumlee
Hardaway Jr.
What an ass draft. Sure, were injuries and guys like Noel and Len could eventually pan out, but still.

Los Angeles Lakers
Odds of winning the lottery: 6.3 percent 100 percent
Los Angeles is the biggest market in the lottery, and the NBA wants to keep putting the Lakers on national television. The league can’t do that as long as they remain this bad. The No. 1 pick would turn the Lakers back into marketing giants and bring streams and streams of revenue to the NBA. Did I mention money? Money, so much money. This No. 1 pick, in Los Angeles, could swing billions.
