Dante Exum's 3/4 court sprint time of 3.19 is better than Chris Paul (3.22), Steph Curry (3.28), Damian Lillard (3.34)
@JoshuaBRobbins: Dante Exum said his interview with the OrlMagic last night went well & the team would like to bring him to CF for a visit
yissss
Adams will be a backup. Really smart kid, really understands basketball and gets the most out of his limiations but his shooting isn't good enough to overcome his athletic flaws.

You better hope you get 4th then because I doubt yall pick Exum over Wiggins/Parker/Embiid.
(I also hope you get 4th because that means we have a top 3 pick....)
Watching Randle get bodied by scrubs from LSU makes me fear tuesday.

I need to start reading about these guys' coke habits. Picking 24 sucks…
if it makes you feel any better here are a few nice players from the last 5 years that went picks 24 or later:
T-Hard JR, Draymond Green, Reggie Jackson, Jimmy Butler, Kyle Singler, Chandler Parsons (38!), Greivis Vasquez, Lance Stephenson, Taj Gibson, Danny Green, Chase Budinger (RIP), Patrick Beverely
so there's definitely somebody good at your pick...trouble is finding/developing them
;_;
I need to start reading about these guys' coke habits. Picking 24 sucks…I was gonna make a "Charlotte has your pick" banner for the Blazers, but nahhh.

Isn't there a 1 in 8 chance you get the Pistons pick tho?

you comfortable with just improving the bench or do you want a major change in the starting lineup

If you check out Portland's salary situation, they are setup to make a good shakeup to the entire roster (while keeping LMA -- assuming he's getting an extension this summer, Batum and Damian) during the 2016 off-season:

Noah Vonleh and Tyler Ennis breaking out ridiculous verticals at the combine after not showing any leaping ability on the court is always interesting. Reminds me of Evan Turner having a good vert at the combine.

Turner can pull out random 360 dunks but overall doesn't use that ability for good.
The Nets want to trade Deron and Deron wants out, good luck with that, guys.

I get warm and happy thoughts about the mental fortitude of a Harden/Dwight/Deron Big 3. Is there an advanced stat for mindfucks?
That said it's not going to happen.

or how many max contracts does it take to pass the first round?Harden/Dwight/Deron would be better off as a reality show than an NBA team imo.
And with McHale as the coach?
deron. Also Harden needs to dominate the ball, what is Deron's role going to be? Spot up shooter?
no on wants to play for mcfail.
Never Forget
NBA draft combine lane agility high/low. Fastest: UCLA's Zach LaVine,
LaVine 41.5'' max vert
Zach LaVine said he "messed up" on vertical leap.

Not really. Portlands balance sheet there is a little misleading. When you look at it you have to always add in the re-signs your self or every team in the league will have a empty balance sheet in 2 / 3 years.I want to see what an upgraded bench looks like first.I need to start reading about these guys' coke habits. LMA will have his max.
Batum will need to be extended.
Lollard will have his max by then also.
And that's assuming they don't re-sign Lopez and Matthews. And waive just about errbody else. Waiving everybody else is semi-realistic but..
LMA 17M, Batum 12M, Lollard, 13M (thats the start of the max contracts, no?), Matthews/Lopez 14M. that puts them at 56M straight up. They'll have maybe ~ 9M in cap space. Minus a few rookie contracts. so maybe... 6M? And thats assuming they do nothing with the MLE this year.
They'd have to strip the roster very bare to get significant cap space. Portland COULD do it. They COULD blow it up. And if after 2 years the team still isn't progressing past the second round, they really may. But it will mean trading LMA or waiving Batum. players they seem to think are core guys for a while. But realistically, that's what you'd have to do if the core isn't getting it done anyway.
It does leave them in a good spot for trades though if they do want to blow it up. An exit plan.
I think you have it confused, all of these contracts are off the books a year from now after next season. LMA is eligible for a contract extension this summer -- which he'll get. Batum just signed an extension a couple of summers ago, so his contract is set. Lillard's contract extension won't even be discussed until next summer. Who knows if they'll even talk to Wesley and Robin or let them test free agency.
Which means, if they did nothing, only Batum and LaMarcus have a guaranteed contract beyond next season, everybody else is off the books or a team option. Obviously it won't shape out that way, but that's how Olshey has it planned out in case this doesn't pan out.

his advanced stats don't show a decline that matches the eye test at all, that's the weird thing
is it possible there's still a really good player in there and that chemistry wise everything went to shit this year?
bears consideration
Did I just see on ESPN that the leading coaching candidate for the Knicks job is DEREK FISHER? Is there any reason I shouldn't think this is silly as all hell?

Phil era has the potential to be worse than anything we've seen before
Zen Master blatantly trying to bring in old roleplayers to run an offense that may no longer even be relevant with the changes in modern basketball over the last few years, stubbornly wonders why his system isn't working without top 10 GOAT talent running the show.
makes 3, 4 years into his contract, just in time for the Lakers to shed Kobes contract and their pick this year to develop, all contracts off the books, multiple superstars become free agents
Phil marries Jeanie and returns to LA as a top consultant
Westbrook, Jabari, Love combo coached by Pau Gasol lose to wiz in 6 (Durant MVP)
Dwightmare 3.0 occurs
Derrick Rose finally returns to court

Batums contract expires after the 2015-2016 season, so they either have to waive him (to remove his cap hold) or re-sign him.
Lollard will have just had his last rookie contract year and will be a RFA, if portland don't auto throw him a max.
And Matthews / Lopez, like LMA, have their deals end after the 2014-15 season, so all 3 have to be re-signed before the 2015-16 season.
Unless you meant the 2015 off season. In which case, they'll have LMA caphold/max @ 17M, batum @ 12M, and nothing else but team options / cap holds. But that would literally be the only two players on the roster (plus a rookie). If they re-sign lopez/matthews for 14M combined, that puts them at 43M. we'll assume they won't waive lillard, and probably not t-rob. thats 51M or so at best. If the cap gets to about 65M, that's space for a max. But... there's NO bench there. A major problem already.
And that's assuming they do nothing with the MLE.
I can see them looking at waiving a whole bunch of their failed rookies / projects, easily. And they're certainly not in a bad spot by any measure. But there will be some serious commitment decisions to be made soon for them.
I meant the 2015 off-season and going into 2016 season.
The cap is also projected to move to $66.5mil next summer, and $63.5mil this summer. So a $51mil roster leaves room for improvement.
I'm not saying they're gonna go after a max contract in FA, but if next season doesn't pan out all that great, they got options to clear capspace and then potentially go after another max FA by letting go of Wesley and Robin. That's their failsafe.

From the limited things I've read and heard, I would reall appreciate it if LA got in the top 4 and picked Exum.
Silver already made moves to shame Clipper nation, now time to bolster LA's future.

After missing out on Steve Kerr, a source has indicated that Phil Jackson is open to hiring a head coach who doesn’t specialize in running the triangle offense (Berman, May 16).
According to Marc Berman, the potential willingness to bring in a non-triangle head coach could open the door for Mark Jackson, who was recently fired by Golden State.
Aside from Jackson, Phil Jackson is reportedly interested in Derek Fisher (who is still playing for the Thunder), Brian Shaw (who has stated that he’s happy with the Nuggets), and Nate McMillan, among others.
On ESPN Radio on Friday, Stephen A. Smith reported that Brian Shaw, currently serving as head coach of the Nuggets, is attempting to get out of his contract in order to become head coach of the Knicks (Stephen A. Smith, ESPN Radio). If Shaw can get out w/o Knicks having to give up compensation that'd be a steal. Shaw and Jackson are really the top two guys right now, coach doesn't need to be well versed in the triangle as long as you have assistants who are.
Phil Jackson and The Knicks were recently linked to Shaw, and it was reported Thursday that he was happy in Denver.
Also word is Phil Jackson informed Raymond Felton that he will look to trade him this offseason. I think this (plus a few Nets 1st rounders) is fair. ;)
